|Minimum Stay||2 - 7 nights|
Picture yourself at the water's edge in a peaceful, private, beautifully scenic cove on pristine Trout Lake, one of the true gems of the Adirondack Region. Spanning 141 feet, the hand-laid stone and masonry waterfront and wooden decking offer spectacular views and a wonderful place for swimming, sunning, hot-tubbing, cooking out on a waterside fireplace/grill, or just plain relaxing in the shade of the beautiful pines.
A runabout motorboat, 2 kayaks and a canoe are there for you to enjoy the crystal clear lake, lined with countless coves and freckled with islands. One-third of the lake is forever wild and features a 1,600 acre state park that is great for hiking and exploring. The lake is stocked annually with a variety of fish including rainbow and lake trout, large and small mouth bass. Perch and rock bass naturally abound so there is great fishing for the kids too. You are only an hour's drive from the high peaks region and 50 min. from some of the best white-water rafting in the US.
Completely refurbished in '05, this traditional Adirondack log cabin has a cozy kitchen with all the amenities, a charming and bright great room with hand-hewn beams, a fieldstone fireplace, antique and leather mission furniture, oriental rugs, and a glassed and screened area for dining and games. With 4 knotty-pine bedrooms, it sleeps up to 10 in beds, with room for two more on a pull-out couch. The waterfront features a hand-laid stone and wooden deck with terraced steps right to the water level, a children's wading area, and a wood-fired, cedar hot tub (brand new in 2015), just a few feet from the water's edge. It is a peaceful and private setting nestled in a pristine cove on a truly beautiful lake.
Come stay at Rustic Lodge. You'll have a great vacation, filled with fun, rest and relaxation, and memories that will last a lifetime.
First of all I would like to say that Ken Reger and his wife Beth were extremely helpful and quickly addressed any questions or concerns we had with the utmost professionalism. They made the stay stress free and made sure everything was ready for us.
The house itself was very well organized. It was fully stocked with everything you would expect to find at home, making it easy to transition for our stay there. The appliances and amenities were well maintained.
We booked our vacation after labor day, so there weren't that many people around, making for a private and peaceful vacation.
We had a wonderful stay and made full use of the boat for fishing and sightseeing. We also took full advantage of the outdoor hot tub. The location itself is beautiful and very tranquil. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great lakefront experience.
My family traveled from California to explore the Adirondacks with our son who is attending Cornell. This is our second trip to a lake in the region and I have to say that this property really provides a sense of paradise! It took some time to get there but once we arrived and saw the lake our jaws dropped as the sun was setting over the trees and the water sat like glass. The outside was perfect with the exceptional docking and ample chairs and lounges, the outdoor fireplace, the cedar hot tub, the boat house with a motor boat, kayaks and canoe. The house was gorgeous! We loved how the owners maintained the rustic decor with quality furnishings and rugs. It was very cozy yet spacious. That is the way to do it! We were 7 adult vacationers and all had our own separate areas. The upstairs bedrooms and the bathrooms were much larger than expected. We did lots of cooking, as we had a chef in the group, and we were very happy that the kitchen was fully equipped with all the pots and utensils one would want. The owner was very attentive to our needs which was appreciated. We had a wonderful vacation at Rustic Lodge and would love to return. This property is highly recommended for those who wish to enjoy a beautiful lake setting with all the amenities and a cozy well appointed log cabin.
My family spends a week in the Adirondacks every summer. We usually try a new house on a new lake, until we find the perfect spot. We may have just found that perfect spot with this house on Trout Lake.
The house was fantastic. It was clean, well organized, and the owners considered nearly every aspect of making our stay perfect. We are from out of state, so some owner policies of not providing linens is a real hassle. However, Ken helped us out there. We have 4 teenagers and I have to say, they were kept busy for an entire week and had plenty of space to spread out.
First off, the water access and dock are the best we have ever had in the Adirondacks. Wonderful large dock with great swimming, right off the edge. We loved the floating dock we could swim out to. The large dock allowed my son to fish and my daughters to sunbathe all at the same time. The hot tub was absolutely great. Once we figured out how to keep a fire hot in the box, it was a cinch to keep the water warm all week. We were in and out of that all week long, day and night. My only recommendation to the owner was for a better fire pit. We love sitting around the fire at night. There is one pit on the far side of the boathouse, but it is not convenient, or in a nice place to sit. We did have a nice fire in the box on the dock, but making a nice pit there would be the final touch to a nearly perfect place to stay.
The lake itself is gorgeous. We fished every day and the owners providing a small motorized boat, kayaks, and canoe were perfect. We used everything and had such fun. The lake is deep and fishing was loads of fun.
The house is really great for a family. The 3 bedrooms upstairs accommodated our 4 teenagers very well. My wife and I stayed in the downstairs bedroom and loved the convenience to the kitchen for a late night or early morning cup of coffee. We really loved the cozy atmosphere of the house as well. Having a fire in the fireplace was a perfect end to every night.
We really can't wait to come back. When my wife says this was her favorite house, that means something. Thanks to the owners for making our stay so memorable. They are great people and really do care about their guests. I will say, all the amenities really do make a difference.
We had a wonderful time staying at Trout Lake. The care and attention that is taken with this house made the stay a truly wonderful experience. The house is clean and well kept with beautiful, comfortible furniture and lots of kitchen extras that you don't always think of. The dock,hot tub,kayaks, and boat make it possible to stay at the house without ever being bored or feeling like you're missing anything. The owners are friendly and it shows that they truly care about you and your stay. I would recommend this property to a friend.
