Great place to stay in Arnold!
My family enjoyed staying at this place. It had a cozy cabin feel. My two girls 4 and 6 enjoyed the books, markers and games. Kitchen is cozy but well stocked. The location is outside the "downtown" area of Arnold, close to Calaveras Big trees, which makes it a convenient drive to Bear Valley.

Wonderful Experience!
Our stay in this beautiful cabin was amazing! We absolutely loved it. It was exactly what we were looking for in our road trip to California from Texas. Our host Carol was everything we could ask for. Great communication from the moment we booked a year in advance. We got to experience what the locals told us was the first snow of the year, it was so beautiful. This cabin had everything you need when you’re looking to just get away. 10/10 Would definitely recommend and if we’re ever back in the area, 100% will stay here again! Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful cabin Carol! - From Texas with love The Rodriguez family

Love our stay
We had a great time staying at the cabin. The house is clean with all the kitchen supplies. The owner is very responsive even on the Christmas Day. We had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend to family and friends for this place.

Comfortable cozy cabin stay
Carol's lovely cabin stands apart from other properties! Very well-maintained, clean, and warmly furnished, this a-line cabin is a real find. It is clear that Carol has spent a lot of effort making sure her guests have everything they could need. We will most certainly stay again!

I grew up visiting the Sierra to fish and hike and have been awed by it ever since. I introduced the Sierra to my three children by way of fishing, camping, hiking and skiing.
In 2005 I purchased Brown Bear Lodge in Twain Harte and it became a very successful vacation rental.
I retired in 2014 and thought that I wanted a quieter life in a retirement community so selling Brown Bear Lodge was part of that plan - WRONG. I terribly missed the mountains so in 2016 I purchased Brown Bear Hideaway and went to work turning it into a wonderful, comfy home. A year later I decided to move to Arnold and I turned Brown Bear Hideaway into this vacation rental.

Why they chose this property

I like restoring classic things like furniture, antiques, and homes! I could see the potential in this classic A-frame home the minute I stepped inside. After many hours cleaning, painting and designing, it became a very comfortable, relaxing, cozy home.

What makes this property unique

I love the evenings out on the deck. It is very close to Blue Lake Springs recreation.
