Great stay with my family!
Had the BEST time at Deb's property last week. I am from NY but recently moved to MI and wanted to show my family other parts of Michigan than where I live in GR. Deb's house had something for everyone- kayaks, boats, fishing, board games etc. We loved the fire pit and grill and spent so much time sitting outdoors enjoying each other's company. Deb also really thought of everything! SO appreciate the welcome book with information about places to eat, things to see in the area, what to do when the TV wont turn on etc-she really kept every detail in mind and we were all so impressed. My family already wants to come back next year. Thanks for an awesome time!!!

A beautiful, relaxing getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at Loon Lodge. Deb has thought of everything (even big forks for roasting marshmallows 😀) and was a pleasure to work with. The boats and kayaks were perfect for gliding across the beautiful lake. Our boys loved having the loft to themselves. It was a true getaway. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful and relaxing place with everything you need!
We rented this house for a family vacation and with six adults and two kids we had plenty enough space. There is so much to do at the house and Deb has it stocked with everything you could ever need. The lake was so peaceful and we caught lots of fish and it was a quick drive to other towns. We definitely recommend this for anyone and would come back in a heartbeat !

My family has lived on Crooked Lake for over 60 years. Our family cottage is close by. I love the tranquility and the peace and quiet. There is a healing energy here that comes from the lake, the trees, the hills and the sky and I want to share it.

Why they chose this property

This particular "Crooked Lake" is not on most maps. It is private, secluded and unique because each cottage is nestled among the trees and surrounded by more trees and not other cottages. If you like to be in nature and “get away from it all,” we are your perfect destination. Because there are so few cottages on the lake, we are able to observe Dark Sky, a rarity for many areas. In the summer the lake is crystal clear, clean and tranquil. The quiet is relaxing and healing. Because our lake is a “no wake” lake you will not hear motor boats and jet skis. Relaxing on our dock and raft is a treat. In the winter we are in the middle of Michigan's snow belt and the snow is deep, beautiful and perfect for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Getting to Traverse City or Petoskey is quick and easy so shopping, skiing, wine tours, fine dining and casino visits are close by, but a lot of folks just go two miles down the road to visit the Hide-A-Way Bar for Taco Night, Burger Night or Friday Night Fish Fry specials and to the Starvation Lake General Store for ice cream cones.

What makes this property unique

Wine Tours - Leelanau Peninsula (25 wineries); Old Mission Peninsula (10 wineries); Bay View Wine Trail in Petoskey (10 wineries)
Golf - 17 courses within 30 miles
Casinos - Turtle Creek by Traverse City (45 min.); Odawa in Petoskey (45 min.)
ORV/Snowmobiling - Blue Bear 679 and 76 trails intersect 1/2 mile down the road. Don't forget your trail permit!
Skiing/Snowboarding - Boyne Highlands, Boyne Mountain, The Homestead, Otsego Ski Club, Caberfae Peaks, Shanty Creek, Crystal Mountain, and Treetops are all within 30 miles.
Fishing - Close by DNR-stocked lakes include Manistee and Starvation
Consignment/Shopping - Gaylord, Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Traverse City provide treasures galore at garage sales on Fridays and Saturdays and also have unique consignment shops. Surprising finds often turn up at the Habitat for Humanity ReStores.
Upscale Shopping - Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Bay Harbor and Traverse City offer unique, upscale boutiques.
