it was truly a wonderful, great place, everything in the house and in the surroundings. The lady of the house was a warm charming person helping with everything. Our children liked it a lot there. Thank you for making our holiday a great stay.
I Stayed here with my sister and a few friends; this place is absolutely amazing! It's secluded but not far away from the local village and only ten minutes away for the nearest beach. The standards of the villa were impeccable, the rooms were spotless and spare linen for the beds were provided. we enjoyed using the outdoor BBQ for nights in, we also put the complimentary pool equipment to good use. The pool was beautiful at night with lights on! It really is home away from home. I would definitely go back, I would recommend this for anybody who is looking for the perfect summer getaway!
A Beautifully presented and well kept spacious Villa surrounded with an array of mature colourful gardens. Nestled in amongst Olive,Orange and Lemon trees with the Mountainous views proved to be breathtaking. On our arrival we were greeted at the property and introduced to all the facilities aswell as handed a 'Must see' booklet made up of recommendations from previous visitors. The nearest town and amenities are a brief drive away in either direction. We particularly loved the local Port where the selection of Tavernas offered the best traditional food and local produce, not to mention the atmosphere made up of tinkering boats all docked along the front, clinking glasses and a mix of music and cafes to cater for all!! We took full advantage of the local beaches aswell as the privacy of the Villa and its very large pool. We visited the famous Amphi Theatre of Epidavros, travelled to Methina, the Islands of Porous & Spetses then on to the markets of Argos and lastly the town of Nafplio where we climbed the Fortress and enjoyed amazing shops and buzzing selections of restaurants and cafes all playing live music as well as bars and clubs. We have recommended this Villa to our families and friends and will be returning this year!!! Yasas!!
I have stayed several times, with family and with friends, and am planning to visit again this summer. The villa caters for families with children, having wonderful swimming pool, and BBQ area with plenty of space, or more mature guests who want to relax in peaceful luxury. It is far enough from the local town to be exclusive, but not too far from local village, bustling port and beaches. The owner is helpful and informative, and there is info pack in the villa with recommended local restaurants and places to visit. the villa is clean and well stocked with everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.
We've stayed at Villa St.John many times in the past and keep coming back.
Unlike many villas in Greece, or elsewhere for that matter, you really come to appreciate the privacy on offer.
The villa is well equipped and comfortable and the owners are genuinely nice people.
No expense has been spared as there's marble everywhere, great for those hot August days but there's aircon as a backup when needed.
The pool is great in the Sun and isn't overlooked whatsoever. It's also quiet which makes for a very relaxing experience.
A small town is 5 minutes away (turn right out of the villa) and has some good tavernas, bakeries, supermarkets and even a chemist, so everything you might need really. Turn left out of the villa and the road takes you to a quaint port where there are many more taverna's.
Needless to say, we'll be going back.
The small town of Ligourio
is 5km away which has shops restaurants banks ,post office,ATM,Medical centre also on Friday morning has a small street market buses and taxis. Not far is the ancient amphitheatre which is hugely active through the summer well worth a visit and to see a performance which brings celebrities far and wide to perform traditional and contemporary stage events tickets easily available. Nearby attractions include Paragliding and snorkelling around the coastal area at Epidavrus . At the local port of epidavrus in the evening a lovely lively place as many boats yachts Moore for the night and the restaurants become very busy great atmosphere, Additionally fishing trips can be arranged.
A visit to the islands of Spetsee,Poros ,Aegina Agistri. are well worth a trip they are very beautiful with lovely blue waters especially the love bay on Poros our families favourite.
About 40 minutes drive is Tolo a great beach of golden sand and activities for all the family. And a must is Nafplio(which was the first capitol of Greece) The hilltop fortress has to be seen the views from there are wonderful .The town itself has shops, markets, restaurants and by the port lots of cocktail bars very sophisticated, in the square are many restaurants and is very family oriented again a lovely atmosphere.
All around there are many places of interest full of history and has remained in my opinion un spoilt.
