The chateau at Juvigny is a perfect place to stay, especially for touring the Champagne region. We were warmly welcomed by Catherine, with lovely fresh flowers in the apartment. We had the run of the chateau grounds, which are gorgeous. We highly recommend this site.

Beautiful property, great location!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage attached to the Chateau is great. Everything you could want in the cottage, plenty of space & wonderful surroundings. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was wonderful. The moat that goes around the property was a constant source of things to look at, the resident Pike, ducks and ducklings. The cottage it's self is well fitted out, exactly as described, clean and very attractive. Would highly recommend. Marc and his family were lovely hosts!

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful place to stay. Quiet and peaceful with all the amenities that you need. Marc and Catherine are great hosts with excellent English skills. Their love of this beautiful chateau was very obvious. Marc took time to tell us of the history of the Chateau and the family which was fascinating.

The location was excellent for traveling through the Champagne region both for sampling the wine/food and the many WWI and WW2 sites.

Would love to stay again .

Amazing chateau stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time at the Lake Pavilion. The pictures on the website looked great but the reality was even better!! It is part of the Chateau which dates back to the Hundred Years War, so you really feel part of French history. It is in a beautiful situation surrounded by the large grounds of the Chateau which you can explore and a large lake (where we watched otters) at the front of the Chateau.

The cottage, which is surrounded on two sides by a moat, is tastefully decorated and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. It was very comfortable but has all the mod cons you would expect. It has two sitting out areas which are great suntraps. The Chateau owners Marc and Catherine are very warm and helpful hosts and gave us lots of good advice. Marc's English is excellent and they have a wealth of knowledge of the area.

Juvigny is excellently situated for exploring the Champagne area, being 30 minutes from Epernay, Ay and Hautviilers and about 40 mins from Reims. The nearest Champagne producers are only about 15 mins away. Chalons en Champagne is a good size town and is only 15 mins away with all the amenities you need plus a great market and some excellent restaurants. There is a small food shop walking distance from the cottage.

The other great advantage if you are coming from the UK is that you are only about 5 miles from the motorway which begins in Calais, so it's very easy to get to in about 3 hours.

We had a wonderful time and already intend to come back next April to visit all the places we didn't get to see this time.

A truly relaxing setting

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived Marc and Catherine were there to greet us and showed us through the accommodation. It is complete with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Our hosts both speak very good English and answered all our questions during our stay. Our weather was good so we enjoyed sitting out with a glass of wine and enjoyed the animals in the trees and on the water. There is a store very close and it is well stocked. The location is close to so much that a weeks stay is not enough. It is also very quiet so you can get a good nights sleep (or afternoon nap!). We would recommend this venue for anyone who is travelling in the Champagne area.
