Two Bedroomed / Two Bathroom Luxury Apartment Sleeps Up To 6 Guests with wifi

Our modern, spacious apartment in the new and exclusive development of Quinta das Palmeiras offers everything you need for a perfect relaxing holiday. Within a few minutes walk you can be wandering through the historic old town of Lagos, with its many traditional shops and local restaurants, or enjoying a sundowner on the beautiful marina. A ten minute walk along the promenade will take you to the safe sandy town beach of Praia da Batata.

The apartment has everything you need including TV with BBC channels, DVD, full wifi. air-conditioning, ample storage and underground parking to keep your car cool during the hot days (we hope!). At the secure residents-only family friendly pools there are sun loungers and parasols, alongside an enclosed soft mat playground area for the children. Our sunny, spacious, balcony, accessible from the kitchen and living area, is furnished with comfortable rattan dining table and lounge chairs.

Our local manager Gail will advise you on airport transfers, toy boxes, welcome packs and general information about collecting keys and Lagos itself. We love the fresh, local food on offer in the many and varied restaurants, the ease of walking around the town without the need for a car, and the friendliness of the local Portugese. Come and see it for yourself!

The living area is comfortably furnished with leather sofas, (1 a double sofa bed) coffee table, lamps and rugs, with the dining area seating 6 guests. The TV/DVD can access satellite channels (not BBC). Double glass doors with electric security blinds lead onto large balcony.

Outside the balcony is furnished with a rattan dining table, chairs and additional lounge chairs with a coffee table to enjoy a relaxing drink or alfresco dining. There are planters and shrubs to make this an attractive area to relax, drink and dine.

Both bedrooms have large fully fitted wardrobes with plenty of hanging space and drawers. Bedside tables, a dressing table and large mirrors complete the furnishings. Haitrdryer.

The en-suite to the double room has a hydrotherapy bath with shower, basin and toilet, bidet, towel rails and toiletries storage unit, shaver socket. The second bathroom has shower enclosure, basin and toilet along with towel rails and toiletries storage unit.

A washing machine is situated in the kitchen along with a clothes airer, iron and ironing board.

Guests also have free access to the leisure centre which includes an indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi/hot tub, fully equipped gym, showers and WCs. We can arrange for a cot and high chair to be available. Welcome packs can be ordered in advance to include fruit/tea/filter coffee/juice/bread/eggs/wine etc. Please enquire when booking. Also baby food, nappies, toys can be available on request. We will do our best to accommodate early/late arrivals. Our manager Gail will meet you at the apartment, will settle you in and answer any queries you may have. She has a wealth of local knowledge having lived in the area for many years and will be your point of contact throughout your stay.

The apartment is on the first floor and the lift stops just outside the apartment door. There is access from the underground car park directly to the apartment.

About Val

We are both retired professionals and live in the centre of England.

One of us is a keen golfer and loves the variety of courses in this part of Portugal. We both enjoy the beautiful unspoilt scenery of the western Algarve. We have grown up children and grandchildren who love to come and stay and enjoy the area with us.

Why Val chose Lagos region

Location, location, location!

We bought this property because we love Lagos and the surrounding area. It is a busy working Portuguese town with a charm of its own whatever time of the year you visit. We enjoy driving to the west coast and visiting the fantastic beaches. We have found a wonderful seafood restaurant in the most unspoilt area with wonderful sunsets - highly recommended.

There is always plenty to do whatever time of year you visit and you do not have to use the car at all because of its central location. The apartment itself is home from home with everything you could want to make it an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Our south facing balcony enjoy the sun most of the day.

What makes this apartment unique

We love the light and airy feel to the apartment and its clean and modern look. So easy to look after. Cafe Fresco is so handy for either a lazy breakfast or to take away a bite to eat for lunch on the balcony.

A Fabulous Family Holiday

This very modern, spacious and well-equipped apartment afforded us the perfect base to explore the beautiful resort of Lagos. The whole family enjoyed the freedom it offered, just a few minutes' walk away from the town centre, bars, shops, marina and the most fabulous restaurants we have ever discovered on holiday! The beach was 15 to 20 minutes walk but well worth the daily trip for a long, unspoiled sandy beach, dotted with sun beds, sun shades and super beach bars.

The property is extremely comfortable and well equipped. Couldn't have asked for anything more.

Myself, husband and two year old son have recently stayed here. The Apartment was clean, tidy & well furnished. We could not have asked for anything more from the apartment itself. Air conditioning throughout made it extremely comfortable. Wifi was an added bonus and two bathrooms, one with a bath, was great with a small child. Val, the owner, arranged for private transfers from the airport, a highchair and even a toy box! Gail met us on our arrival at the apartment and showed us around answering any questions we had. The apartment is well situated for exploring Lagos. We ate out most evenings. There are good restaurants a couple of minutes away and a little further, about a 10 minute walk, is the centre of the town, where there are many good restaurants to choose from. The two beaches Meia Praia and Batta are both about a 15 minute walk away. We didn't hire a car but, had we done so, the apartment has underground parking and designated space. The bus station is a couple of minutes away and the buses are a cheap way to explore further afield. Overall, we had a fabulous holiday, fell in love with Lagos, and will definitely be back.

Fabulous home from home and a bit more

Images do not do the apartment justice, we loved it from the minute we walked in, so much space and all the luxuries of home, plus the weather. Location is excellent for everything you want to do, and a wonderful relaxing place to come back to after a hot day sightseeing or on the beautiful beaches close by. Definitely coming back in the coming years and can honestly say not said that very often. Contact on arrival was very informative and even arranged transfers from the airport, local knowledge also very helpful. We did many things and really enjoyed them all, best value for money apart from the beautiful beach was the tuk tuk tours, really good fun, informative and driver was great at taking us to places we would not have seen, 2.5 hours , 3 people for 30 euros- excellent.

Great Apartment

We really enjoyed our stay in Lagos. The apartment was perfect for 4 adults, very clean, spacious and well equipped with a large balcony to enjoy outdoor dining. We hired a car and appreciated the secure parking space that was included in the rental (the space was exceptionally large compared to other holiday rentals we have experienced). Walking into Lagos centre was quick and easy, with lots of different restaurants to choose from, the Marina was 5 minutes away and the beach was only a 10/15 minute walk. The apartment was also well placed for driving, within minutes you could be on the N125 coast road which runs along the Algarve and we enjoyed exploring the area. We would definitely recommend the apartment, the facilities, wifi, indoor and outdoor pool, gym, and it's location are great and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Lagos has an abundance of separate white sandy beaches - the long and spacious Meia Praia beach (almost 6km long) on the Marina side of town which is a 5-10 minute walk from the apartment, and the smaller but beautiful cliff surrounded cove beaches on the western side, including the Dona Ana beach, considered by many to be the most beautiful and picturesque beach in the whole Algarve. A short 30 minute drive away are the wonderful surfing beaches on the West coast of the Algarve, including Praia do Amado, often proclaimed to be the most popular beach along the West coast.

There is a local supermarket, Pingo Duce, within 3 minutes walk with an ATM machine nearby. Lidl is a five minute walk from the apartment.

Just below the apartment there is the reasonably priced Cafe Fresco serving excellent English and Portuguese food (with free Wi Fi). There are multiple bars and restaurants within a comfortable ten minute stroll.

Popular boat trips run along the west coast all year round and can be boarded just five minutes from the apartment. Lagos is a great place for all kind of water sports and nautical activities whilst just ten minutes away at Luz there is a PADI certified diving school.

There's plenty for the children to enjoy - Lagos Zoo and Marine Zoo are all nearby and the water parks of Aqualand and Slide and Splash provide much fun and enjoyment for both parents and children.

Lagos is ideally located for golfing holidays. Lagos is served by two world class courses, the Palmares course and the Boavista course, both of which are a 5 minute drive from the apartment complex. The main golf season is from late autumn to late spring. Winters are mild and golfers can enjoy warm sunny days on the fairways when their home courses are unplayable.

The Palmares course, a Par 71, is a design masterpiece, which blends a perfect mix of links and inland golf, with magnificent views over Lagos Bay and the Monchique mountains.

The Boavista course provides a variety of attractive and interesting holes. Umbrella pines, blossoming almond, fig, palm and olive trees line the rolling fairways, weaving their way between water hazards and carefully placed bunkers.

Breathtaking views, spectacular scenery and the clear Atlantic Ocean, which is visible from most holes, all combine to make this course a delight for the golfer. There are also other golf courses a short drive from Lagos.

Lagos is a town steeped in history and to many visitors, it is their favourite on the coastline. It has a charm and beauty all of its own. Indeed, it has often been described as the jewel in the Algarve crown. Its historic centre is enclosed in largely fourteenth century walls at the mouth of the Ribeira de Bensafrim. It was from here, inspired by Prince Henry the Navigator's maritime school, that many of Portugal's great explorers set off on their great Voyages of Discovery, including Gil Eanes, who was born in Lagos and whose statue today stands in the shadow of the Town walls.

Lagos became capital of the Algarve in 1577 but much of the town was destroyed in the great 1755 earthquake and Faro took over as capital in 1776.

Today Lagos is a major resort but it remains a living breathing working Portuguese town and is an important services centre, fishing port and local market centre. Its pretty winding cobbled streets are full of outdoor restaurants, interesting shops and has a lively atmosphere whilst during the summer months there are concerts held in the amphitheatre close to the old Town walls.

You can visit the old Slave Market to view an art exhibition or while away some time in Lagos Museum to learn about the colourful past of this charming town.

Within a few minutes walk of Lagos' enchanting historic old town quarter (centro historico); with its fine selection of restaurants offering the best gastronomy of Algarve cuisine, bars and pavement cafes, shops and stylish boutiques, traditional handicrafts shops, all contained within the old 16th Century city walls and a maze of cobbled streets
