Luxury houseboat in historic, old city, Amsterdam.

Overview

About the property

This historic houseboat has recently been fully renovated and is equipped

with all the luxury you can think of. The boat lies in the Brouwersgracht, a

canal in "old city Amsterdam". You will have a unique

experience, sleeping on one of the most picturesque canals of Amsterdam,

having breakfast with swans floating by your table. Highly recommended for families with children and couples.

All highlights are within walking distance. The boat is sturdily fixed to

the quay, so there is no swell.

The boat has two decks, an upper and a lower deck. On the upper deck, the

former bridge, there is a small living room overlooking the canal on all

sides. A great spot to have a wine and see the sun set on the canal. This

area also has a tv, so it could function as a children's tv room.

On the lower deck, you will find a huge bedroom in the stern (back of the

boat) with a jacuzzi in the room. Next to this room is the bathroom with a

huge walk-in shower and toilet. The middle of the boat contains an open

kitchen with luxury stove with oven, a dining area and living room area with

tv.

In the prow (front of the boat) you find the second bedroom for two.

The ring of canals in the old city centre is one of the most historic parts

of the city, and the Brouwersgracht is right in the middle of it and on the

edge of the famous Jordaan area. In this neighborhood you will find

impressive 17th century canal houses, galleries, boutique shops, lunchrooms

and small restaurants. This area has not been spoiled by fastfood chains and

souvenir shops. This is authentic Amsterdam where you'll be able to meet the

locals!

Complimentary are:

-A fully stocked fridge with all basics to start your holiday; wine, beer, sodas, breakfast; eggs, ham, cheese, marmalade, butter, fresh bread, coffee and tea.

-Shower soaps and shampoos.

-Towels and bedlinen (all beds are made for you).

You will get two sets of keys on arrival and check-in will be done by us to explain the whole boat to you.

The boat has recently been fully renovated and is one of the most unique

places on Homeaway in Amsterdam you can sleep.

Wonderful and unique Amsterdam, Jordaan neighborhood location. Roomy, comfortable and clean.

  • 5 of 5

This canal houseboat rental is well worth considering. The location in the Jordaan neighborhood is perfect for visiting all of Amsterdam's major sites. There are many restaurants to sample, and wonderful streets to walk down (just watch out for the bikers!). We loved our visit, and Alexis was a perfect host.

Absolutely amazing!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay - from the time of booking to our checkout, Alexis was so helpful, knowledgable and responded to my messages immediately.

I honestly cannot recommend this houseboat enough! It's in the most beautiful neighbourhood of Amsterdam, with shops, pubs, restaurants, Amsterdam Centraal station etc. so close - but still so peaceful, cosy and a great place to come 'home' to after a busy day of sightseeing. The stocked fridge on arrival was a really thoughtful touch too!

All in all, a fantastic property in the perfect location - you really can't go wrong here. In fact we'll be back soon! Thanks so much Alexis!

Beautiful boat in an amazing area in Amsterdam!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time renting a houseboat, and I am so glad we went with this one! Alexis was in contact with us through the whole renting, checking in, and checking out process. He greeted us with a few food items and wine to get us started. He walked us through and explained everything about the boat. The boat itself had everything we needed! It was spacious, cozy, and you can’t beat the location. I highly recommend this rental, and would definitely stay here again!

Delightful houseboat, great location, perfect host

  • 5 of 5

I'm not sure it gets much better than this. We stayed here for four days in March, 2018. The houseboat looked great online and the pictures are accurate! It is beautiful, clean and spacious. Alexis stocked it with everything you need to get started - snacks, fruit, drinks and breakfast food. The beds are very comfortable. You have everything you need - kitchen equipment, bathroom supplies, linens, towels, guidebooks and an information notebook to give you ideas about what is nearby. We liked that it was near the center of town, but on a quiet canal and in a quiet neighborhood. We fed the ducks, coots and swans daily from the boat. Alexis always responded to my emails and texts, communicated clearly and was very helpful. It was ideal and we would definitely stay here again.
