The villa is located on a hillside, overlooking the sea. It boasts fantastic sweeping views over unspoilt countryside filled with olive groves down to the sparking azure sea. It offers a fantastic degree of privacy, and there are very few signs of habitation as far as the eye can see. However as the the bustling harbour of Makrigialos is only 3 kms away, you have privacy without sacrificing convenience. With the car you can easily reach the numerous tavernas, shops and unspoilt beaches throughout your holiday stay.
The villa offers particularly spacious accommodation with a total of 4 bedrooms (3doubles-1single) arranged over two floors and two lovely terraces, one on the ground floor at the front of the house and the other on the first floor leading off one of the bedrooms. The traditional feel of the house, which strikes you immediately upon swing the thick stone-walled exterior as you approach along the rough track leading to the house, is echoed in the interiors which have been furnished with family heirlooms and antiques. The bedrooms have lovely old iron bedsteads with decorative metalwork and modern floors and shutters.The very special living area boasts an open fireplace and to one side is a large well equipped kitchen area with a full oven and fridge. All the bedrooms on the first floor have attractive sloping ceilings,and from the single bedroom there is access to a large terrace at the front of the house which is a perfect spot to sit in the quiet of the late evening and watch for shooting stars.Outside is the pool area with the BBQ, equipped with large table and chairs and also a garden.
The house is situated a few minutes' walk or drive from beautiful beaches with calm transparent water - a pleasure for swimming. The house is a ranch house it is located in the middle of an olive plant. Sitting outside by the pool, we enjoyed beautiful view and magical atmosphere. The house itself is furnished with good taste. It is not a luxury house but we found the kitchen and bedrooms to be cozy and comfortable. Dispensable goods (e.g. toilet paper) were minimal. The owners were very hospitable and friendly. Overall, this is the "un-touristic Crete" the feeling is like a local and not like a tourist, the area is wild, and secluded perfect for those who love nature, quietness, and privacy. We enjoyed and recommend.
The House is located in a perfect place between mountain and sea! Ideal for those who need to relax! It was very clean and tidy and i loved the decoration. George and Rena where very friendly and kind and helped us a lot to discover south-east Crete! We'd certainly visit you again in the future...

We just loved it. The house is located in a beautiful and lonely olive grove with wonderful views to the ocean. Lovely tavernas are close by and a small town to shop. Also lots of empty beaches with amazing underwater life. We will definitely come back not least to see our two hosts again and share a Greec coffee. We told all our friends about our lovely house and stay and still wish we could have stayed forever.
Makrigialos is located 120 kms from Heraklion airport to the south east of the island of Crete.On picturesque peacefull beaches all light and color you can enjoy the clear sea and allow yourself to sink into a state of total tranquillity.Makrigialos as the southernmost Cretan village,has one of the longest summer seasons.The village has a wide range of tavernas,shops, mini markets and bars.
