Stayed here with my wife for a long weekend. House is pleasantly remote, very quiet, with lots of water near by for some beautiful scenic views. House is great with the best appointed/stocked kitchen I have seen. Spent lots of time on the large back porch and enjoyed some of the owner's art work scattered about the property. This was the ideal spot for a return to nature/break from the city. Will definitely be coming back.
We had a fantastic long weekend on this property. The house is as the photos show - spacious, clean and well equipped. It was the perfect size for us (two couples and two infants). The grounds are gorgeous - very secluded, beautiful lawns- and we spent a lot of time on the large terrace overlooking the gardens. Harry was excellent to work with, he went out of his way to be helpful and was very responsive. It was a quick easy trip up from NYC. The week we got home we requested to book again - we loved it!
We had a wonderful weekend! Harry was a fantastic host and very helpful right from the beginning when we first inquired about renting the hosue. The property is very clean and well maintained and all instructions for the house were clear and thoroughly detailed, so our stay was comfortable and stress free. The house is very private and quiet and surrounded by gorgeous land. We were there in the fall and the leaves were spectacular. We found everything we needed to cook meals and enjoy ourselves when we were at the house. There is a TV, but I would suggest playing cards and/or breaking out one of the puzzles on hand. The house is also close to all of the wonderful things that the Hudson Valley has to offer, hiking, biking, apple picking, shopping, etc, so there are plenty of options. It was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. I would highly recommend staying at this property.
If you're looking for a convenient getaway to the beautiful Hudson Valley, this property offers it all: Quiet, seclusion yet close to attractions; comfortable home with lots of windows to let the cool breezes and light shine in; a great owner who will work with you to insure that your stay is trouble free. We'll be back!
I spent a nice relaxing and fun filled long weekend here with my family. Harry and Tamar were wonderful to deal with and went out of their way to make us feel at home from teaching us how to use the wood burning stove to giving us restaurant recommendations.
The house was perfect for our family of 6 (2 adults, 2 kids, 2 grandparents). It was in a central location and allowed us to enjoy the Hudson Valley and all its fall beauty. We went apple/pumpkin picking, explored the villages of New Paltz and Rhinebeck, visited the Culinary Institute and had breakfast/went hiking at Mohonk. There was a supermarket 5 minutes away from the house plus several farm stands.
The house itself was clean and comfortable. Surrounded by windows, it had a lot of natural light plus a pond and a sculpture garden that the kids enjoyed. We had the option of lighting a fire but unfortunately didn't get around to it. The house had a small TV which we didn't use at all plus high speed internet access, which we used the whole time.
We really enjoyed ourselves and are so glad that we rented this house. We would do it again in a heartbeat as it was the perfect place for us to relax, unwind and spend some quality family time together.
It is a great house to get away from busy city if you would like to have a quiet time. There is a nice fire place in the living room and the garden is well maintained. This house is clean and well equipped with kitchen appliances and utensils. The only thing I felt inconvenient is no linen service. Harry, owner of this house is very nice and helpful. I hope that I will visit there again.
