The famous holiday village Grindelwald lies under the "Top of Europe", with the Eiger (3970 m.) Mönch (4099 m.) and Jungfrau (4158 m.). The stretched out walking area counts many beautiful walks. House Bernet is deliciously quiet situated at 3 km. from the centre of Grindelwald. It has been built in the year 1700 but renovated throughout the years several times.
The detached holiday house is furnished with a lot of care and attention. Across the house is the garage in where you can park your car. The 3rd bedroom for the 6th person is located outside the exual house. From the house runs a walking path towards the centre of Grindelwald, you will reach the centre within 15 minutes. In short, a fine holiday house in a beautiful and attractive environment.

Excellent chalet, large spacious, very well equipped with rooms that suited us perfectly for a our Summer vacation. The owner was very friendly and helpful but never intrusive. Location is blissful, set outside Grindelwald but easily accessed on foot (20 mins walk) or via the free bus which runs regularly throughout the day, but not after 7pm. We had a hire car but only used it once for shopping in Interlaken, and on our journey to and from Zurich airport. We spent 2 weeks walking in the area, but never ran out of interesting and challenging walks. The town had lots of shops and restaurants but expect to pay at least double British prices. We went swimming twice, mainly to cool down as the weather was glorious, and got a good discount due to the guest pass, and on one occasion the whole swimming baths to ourselves. The only thing I would have liked that wasn't there was an iron, but there was a washer and dryer and outside washing line. Best holiday ever.... We travelled with a 3 year old and he loved it, we will return when his not yet born brother is similar age. The walks we did would be a struggle for a younger child or one less willing to keep going! The chalet was safe and secure for children and he loved collecting mountain water from the spring. All walks encompass hills, some very steep, so a reasonable degree of fitness is required to fully enjoy this location! Don't forget to go outside after dark to experience the star filled sky!
Our first visit to Grindelwald from Australia and House Bernet was everything we could have wished for as a place to base ourselves to explore the region. The well equipped home is nicely renovated in typical Swiss style. Located on a grassy hill, surrounded by the highest of mountains, we often enjoyed the quiet and seclusion, finishing our day with a glass of wine and local cheese, overlooking the Grindelwald valley and watching the setting sun. A car is necessary to take advantage of all the surrounding activities and walks in the area, although there are also many walks within a stones throw of the property. Our hosts were welcoming and very obliging.
As the title says, our third visit and it was as wonderful as ever. The location, view and aspect is to die for. The owners are super helpful and the property well fitted out, with parking right outside the house. The patio at the back is south facing so when the weather is nice, it's great to sit in the sun and enjoy the view in peace and quiet. My favour holiday location.
Incredible views, excellent hospitality, wonderful place to stay, would love to go again.
When we landed , we felt bit akward with the venue , but as we stay On , OMG , I have no words to express the pleasure we gain out of silence and nature around us .The facilities are good for a family oriented visitors and I have request the owner not to upgrade it with wifii , so as to maintian the piece and calmness one can get with out gadgest . In and all , a wonderful stay ..
In the armpit of the Eiger is a nice place. Especially when the hospitality of the highest level!
