Enough about me. I grew up on Long Island, and have re-located with my family to Midlothian (Mid-low-th-Ian) Virginia (20 minutes from Richmond). We have spent Christmas and New Year's many a year in this house, birthdays celebrated and many great meals shared. We hope you enjoy your time here too.
Kevin Perry purchased this house in 1985
This house is a treasure to me and my family. We all ski, and the I bought this because I love to ski, the hiking is first class, and there is so much to do outdoors. Now that we have kids - I get to enjoy the mountains and the house through them. The kids really look forward to down time by the fire, relaxing in the hot tub, and family and friends around the dining room, telling stories, playing cards and reminiscing! They don't mind the drive from Richmond, Virginia, because they get to be 'at the upstate house!' As a couple our absolute favorite place to eat out locally is Deer Mountain Inn - fabulous food, great service and very romantic - and family oriented.
This is a comfortable home away from home, so if you're looking for high end - sorry. Great beds, no fuss and a great chillax is what we cater to.
Courteous owner, nice house, convenient location to Hunter mountain.
The cabin is spacious, well-appointed, and in a great location.
We had a great time at this home in Haines Falls. There certainly was enough room for us to stay comfortably in this home. It had an ample supply of towels, linens, and kitchen equipment to accommodate a much larger crowd than ours. North/South Lake and the campsite were a short distance from the house and we enjoyed the clean air and activities on the lake. The house was well maintained and serviced. We hope to return next year and would definitely recommend this property!
It's a bit off the beaten path, but it's spacious and has decent amenities for any large group excursion. It spent a lot of time raining so we were unable to take advantage of all the house had to offer, but I would definitely rent again. Kevin was very helpful.
A large group of us decided to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend here in the Catskills. We had a delightful time. It was great for barbecuing and generally hanging out in the mountain air.
There is plenty of space and a gorgeous view. The kitchen layout has a very nice flow and it seemed newly remodeled. There was sufficient parking. The outdoor space was perfect for lawn games, and we were big fans of the mountain backdrop. It didn't rain but we appreciated there were board games just in case.
On a separate note, the general store down the road was super accessible and made delicious ice cream shakes.
