Exceptional property for friends and fun.

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I just ended our yearly week at this home and, as always, it never fails to make us feel at home and happy. The home is always impeccably maintained and has everything you could need for an enjoyable stay. The pool is always sparkling clean and is where we spend most of our time, when not having fun cooking on the Wolf range. The Kitchen is a great place for friends to cook as its size lends itself well to multiple things going on at the same time. Can't wait for our next trip.

Tip: Log onto the King Kullen website in the days before you arrive and arrange for your groceries to be delivered after you arrive. This is a HUGE time saver and convenience and in the years I've been using them they have never messed anything up or arrived later than scheduled.

Another amazing week at this perfect vacation home

  • 5 of 5

Spent another wonderful week at this house this summer. The hosts are amazing people who end up being more like friends than temporary "landlords". I've never found the house to be anything but exceptionally clean when I arrive (I've been coming to the house since 2012, usually twice per year.) and I've always found the house linens to be exactly what is necessary for my agreed upon guests. The house is outfitted with professional style cookware and Kitchen accessories that only get better with age and work wonderfully. The neighborhood is really friendly and they actually come by and meet you (and may even invite you over for a cocktail. :-) )

Can't wait for my next stay.

Owner's Response: All I can say is that after a long, hard work week - reading this review made me smile. Mike is a great guest. He's right -it does feel more like we are "sharing" this cottage than having a standard "landlord-tenant" relationship. We always feel wonderful knowing someone is enjoying this special place and treating it like their own. Thanks for coming back year after year.

bad expirience

  • 1 of 5

I do NOT recommend to rent this house for many reasons:

1) the house was very dirty when we arrived, we had to wash all linens and clean the whole house full of dust . underneath the carpets we found soil. The pans for cooking were all over used and very old. the bbq as well.

2) there is a neighbor's dog that barks also during the night in the backyard.

3) we had only 4 towels when the house is supposed to accommodate up to 10 people. when we asked for more towels the owners were very polemical.

4) they din't give us the deposit back finding an excuse and they treated us in a very impolite way when we tried to talk to them.

Owner's Response: Giada was contacted on the evening of her arrival. It is my custom to do this by phone so I can make sure that there are no issues with amenities or cleaning. All guests are advised to let us know within 24 hours so we can address any concerns. Other than a question about the pool filter - no concerns were voiced. In addition, Giada visited the cottage on May 23rd and was so pleased with the layout, amenities and clean environment, that she asked to have her husband see it the next day. Unfortunately, the cottage was booked and we didn't want to disturb our guests. When booking the cottage we ask specifically about the number of children and adults in the family so we can have linens and towels prepared. Giada stated she had 2 adults and 2 children. Later she requested that our housekeeper bring her more six more towels and sheets for her "guests." Giada states in her review that she had to wash all the linens. However, if the linens were dirty - why would you request more? Regarding Giada's security deposit, below I have posted a copy of the email I sent to Giada on September 15th. Giada had 3 dogs in our home, in violation of our no pet policy. Dear Ms. Giada: As per your lease - The $600 security deposit is required and will be returned by the landlords within 3 weeks after lease expiration less any amount deducted for damage... As part of our check-in, I contact every guest upon arrival. On the evening of your arrival, I contacted you by phone to verify that the house was clean. You assured me that it was and only had one question - regarding the pool filter and heater. Please note, no one hung up the phone on you. Unfortunately, we both know you violated our no pet policy by having dogs on the premises. When confronted with the truth - you first denied having dogs at the house. Then you changed your story and said that "a friend came with her service dog." Now you are alleging that someone was "walking" a dog on our property. I am dismayed that in over 10 years of renting, that a guest would be so disrespectful our home. We have our own pets but always make accommodations for them when we travel. If you had expressed this issue with me, I would have been more than happy to recommend a suitable pet friendly home.

Quickly becoming a "second home".

  • 5 of 5

This is my second year renting this beautiful home for a week in July. In total I've been renting there winters for 3 years. If you are a cook/foodie, you will instantly feel at home in the TRUE cooks Kitchen. From the appliances to the cookware, everything is First Rate. The owners are amazing and you really feel like you are staying in the home of a good friend. The pool and patio area are just perfect. The yard is not small, by any means, but even with people in the pool, by the pool, and on the patio grilling or sitting, you feel like you are all together. Of course bedding and linens are first rate and as one other reviewer noted, the Master shower is really calming and luxurious. Beware: After cooking for a while on the huge Wolf range, you may just need one!

Perfect Summer Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We rented this lovely house for a week and found the space, amenities and neighborhood all very nice and convenient.

The house is clean and spacious feeling. The TVs are all very nice and there is a nice bonus room upstairs for kid games. The kitchen and bathroom supplies are very well stocked, and the backyard is lovely and pleasant to hang out or play in.

We haven't stayed in Bridgehamton before but found the location very convenient to Sag Harbor. We were a little disappointed with the restrictiveness of the south Hampton beaches but managed to find ones within a half hour or so most days. We went to Sagg Main beach during the week, Ponquogue on the weekend, and Montauk once since we were going to the lighthouse anyway.

Some places to enjoy: Nature Center was great, even for our 14 year old, Fresh Hamptons was pricey but had excellent food, and we enjoyed going over to Shelter Island one day for shell collecting and mini golf.

We also had very good/helpful interactions with the owner and their handyman when we needed a couple items.

Owner's Response: We are so happy you enjoyed the cottage. The town of Southampton updates parking rules for residents and non-residents annually... Information that we are happy to share with guests. Parking at the beach is at a premium during peak summer months. If driving to the beach, it's advisable to head out early. As an alternative to driving we also recommend using a local taxi service or biking to the beach. Enjoy the rest of the summer. We hope to have you back soon!

We had such a wonderful stay at the cottage! It was perfect for our group of two families with young children. We especially loved the open layout, huge dining room table, and everything about the setup outside (pool, grill, play area). Would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return again soon.
