Bob Madou purchased this house in 2011
The house has a very specific construction with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on each floor making it the perfect holiday house for large groups, big families or 2 families traveling together.
The kitchen is beautiful and has all facilities.
The location is top notch, in a quiet residential street just a few minutes walking from the main square.
We are three "50 somethings" and have just enjoyed a lovely long weekend in this lovely town house.
We were welcomed by Lena (Bob's Mum) as arranged, and shown around the property with the help of her lovely little grand-daughter (Bob's daughter). The house is clean, warm and simply furnished but to a high standard with all mod cons.
It is on 3 floors with an open plan ground floor, two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor, and the same on the top floor. The stairs are potentially challenging for some - open tread, wooden, twisting and steep.
There is a supermarket nearby for all your provisions. It's a 10 minute walk into the centre of the city, and there is a lovely walk around the perimeter canal at the end of the street.
It was a very cold January weekend (the canals were all frozen) but the house was warm and cosy with plenty of hot water and a homely feel.
Thank you Bob and Lena for a lovely weekend stay in beautiful Bruges.
We went as two families so the accommodation was perfect for us as it was four bedrooms and two bathrooms set over two floors. Plenty of living space as well. Just a 10 minute walk into the heart of Brugge. Would definitely go to this house again.
Lena greeted us with such a nice surprise. Lots of room and bathrooms. Close to city center and grocery store. We all enjoyed our winter visit to Bruges and would love to return to the same home in the summer.
Very clean, comfortable, spacious, well equipped and a 2 minute stroll from the main square yet totally quiet and peaceful. A really great property with faultless communication / hand over. Would recommend this place to anyone!
The house is charming and has everything you need for a great holiday! It is the perfect location for exploring Bruges - everything well within walking distance. We were two families staying there, one for each floor which worked perfectly. We felt like we had our own space on each floor but could also hang out in the communal area on the ground floor. If I have any criticisms , they are small and relatively insignificant. I wished for more soft furniture on the communal area, for example, but the grown ups spent time in the kitchen while the kids commandeered the couch. Parking was a bit tricky, but only because of the bridge construction outside of the city walls. Finally the neighbors have chickens so it's an early wake up, but also kind of charming. As I said, these are insignificant complaints and are mostly out of the owners hands. Overall, I would definitely recommend folks stayed here. We certainly were sad to leave.
