Both stairs and a walking ramp bring you to the porch, upper decks and living areas. A large screened patio on the ground level with comfortable seating... a great place to relax, have meals, play games and visit. A park-style grill is strategically placed nearby for easy accessibility.

The bayside decking is a ideal spot to sunbath, relax and watch the waves gently lap at the shore. If you like to fish, you will love the private 150 foot dock with rails, fresh water, lights, power and a built-in fish cleaning station. Redfish, speckled sea trout, flounder, catfish and much more await... the fish are always biting at the end of the dock. Or, bring your boat or kayak and explore the entire bay. Use the enclosed outdoor shower to clean up at the end of your day of play.

Rebecca and John purchased this house in 2015

Why Rebecca and John chose St. George Island

Having spent a lot of time travelling, Rebecca and John sought out a property that connected them to nature, in a peaceful yet invigorating setting. They looked at a lot of properties along the forgotten coast, as well as homes in Belize, Costa Rica and other parts of the world. The moment they found this house for sale, it was clearly the right fit of style, nature and peace.

Red Fish, Blue Fish is the perfect getaway for the winter for the owners, who are based in Wisconsin. The rest of the year, it is available for guests to enjoy.

What makes this house unique

On the bay with a private beach and dock. Lots of decking and beautiful out door spaces. Stylish and well-appointed interior. Ideal for fishing, biking and kayaking. Nicely landscaped with palms lining the property for privacy.

We love dogs and encourage guests to bring theirs. We fenced the 1 acre yard so dogs can run and play.

a beautiful home on a beautiful island!

  • 5 of 5

We loved Red Fish Blue Fish, it was totally perfect for our 3 generation family and dog. It was terrific to have everything needed for the toddler- pack and play, high chair, minimum knick knacks to move and had gates fences to prevent access to the water. It was also perfectly set up for our golden retriever with a complete large fenced yard, and dog crates. Had a wonderful time enjoying fishing off the dock, playing with the baby in the shallow beach area, and venturing a short distance to the georgeous state park beach and estuary trail. Restaurants on the island were good as well.

Great Place!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2 weeks and had a great time! The place was just perfect for us. The house is so nice and comfortable. We love to fish, we took our bay boat and kayaks and caught some beautiful fish! It was so peaceful and relaxing just what we had wished for. Thank you for providing the dog crate and fenced yard, it made it so easy to take our dog. We loved it and hope to return again soon!!

Cozy and relaxing! Perfect family vacay home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed our month long stay here! Correspondence was prompt and easy and super friendly. It was our first time to St. George Island, and we WILL be returning! Amazing place for relaxation -- quiet little island -- (really don't want to share it! ;)

Red Fish Blue Fish was clean and had most everything we needed!

- large dog crates provided in the house and outside! Our dogs loved their stay as well.

- crock pot, blender/mixer

- 2 coffee pots!

- washer and dryer worked very well and it was fast - large laundry room with counter

- beach shoes and boards in outdoor shower

- beautiful sunset, dock area, patio area! Loved it!

- screened-in patio upper level was great for breakfasts and watching sunsets

- Mermaid lounge was great for our fishing equipment set up

- beach area was fun to hunt for crabs and closed off so little ones couldn't wander down there!

- only a 20 min boat ride to Dog Island!

- less than a mile to the State Park and Beach -- just beautiful!

- excellent wifi speed / connection

Just a few comments for constructive criticism. :)

We did have to request for a TV remote for the master bedroom, but that was ordered for us and we got it in a few days time. Their is no 'pantry' for our food - this wouldn't be an issue for people that stay for a few days or 1 week, but we were here for a month. We made it work just fine. :) The guest bedroom didn't have any night stands or dresser, only a closet, so when we had some guests stay they had to leave their things on the floor. The '3rd' bedroom is really just a loft with a pull out. We were thinking it was 3 bedrooms AND a loft. Our kids slept up there, but there was no TV there either. The half bath in the loft didn't have a mirror on the wall which would have been nice as well. There were no beach towels - this is something to consider having for people so they don't have to pack as much. Other places we have stayed provided beach towels. The driveway was very challenging to maneuver for our fishing boat, but we managed. Had to haul our trash to the end of the driveway. Thankfully we have truck. It's not walkable to the public beach access (1.5 mi). But we used the State Park for the beach (small fee daily) or went to our friends rental. Overall, not a big deal for us. :)

Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay for a small family. I would stay here again for sure! Thank you Red Fish Blue Fish! We loved it!!

Owner's Response: Holly, Thanks so much for staying at Red Fish Blue Fish. I am glad that you, your family and dogs enjoyed the home, yard and waterfront. We have worked hard to include everything to make our guest's stays enjoyable and memorable. In response to your suggestions, which we appreciate you mentioning, all homes on SGI require that the trash is brought to the road. That is how the trash pick up works. There are many designated beach access points. From our driveway there is one about 100 yards away to the west and 1/4 mile to the east. I am sorry you didn't find them. It is a very short walk to the beach. Although there are turns in the driveway, We maneuver a motor home and trailer into the driveway and yard. I am sorry if you struggled with your boat. The suggestion of adding beach towels is a good one. I am sure that would be an excellent convenience for guests. Thanks again for staying at Red Fish Blue Fish and also for your review and suggestions.

Great location, perfect for pets!

  • 5 of 5

My parents and I loved our stay here. The yard is completely fenced in so we didn’t have to worry about our dogs straying. The gate on the side of the yard could stand to have some fence installed across the bottom of it because I did see that as a potential exit for the pups but we kept an eye on them if they got in that area. Located just a couple miles from all of the basic stores you could need as well as several restaurants. The second bedroom had no furniture (aside from the bed and a small console table) and no mirror which was a minor inconvenience. The kitchen is well-stocked, we did a lot of cooking. We fished off the dock every day and enjoyed every beautiful sunset. Overall I would highly recommend this property for anyone with or without pets if you simply want to get away and relax! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beach home!
