This Haussman Apartment refurbished in 2011 brings together the times. The luxury of the volumes, the rich ornaments, the comfort of modernity, elegance furniture.
Surface 180m² with a large living / dining room of 65m², on average 28m² bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen fully equipped, all under ceiling 4m70. The moldings Napoleon III marquetry old rooms and original windows even add to the charm.
The apartment is located in the heart of town (kilometer zero Marseille), 800m from the old port, the Gare Saint Charles (Paris is only at 3:06) and the Saint Charles Tunnel, providing access to d Aix en Provence in 25 minutes and Cassis and the airport in 30 minutes.
It has all the nearby transport with Metro, Bus and Tram within 50m, and a car rental agency as a neighbor and public parking outside the door. There is even the Maritime shuttle to the islands and beaches 600m. The other neighbor is a Super U. Then you'll find at 40m round a pharmacy, a bar with terrace full sun, the tea room Plauchut bakery, trendy Brasserie des Danaides, the Post, the two best Marseille Pizzeria (Chez Noel and in Picone).
Finally, for those who love Cultural outings, Odeon Theatres is 40m, the Gymnasium at 200m, 300m and Bernardine that of the auction, with the Opéra de Marseille are a 15mn walk. The walk from the apartment to the famous museum MUCEM will take you through the Canebière, the Old Port, the Hotel Intercontinental, the Avenue of the Republic, the old Panier district, the harbor, the bridge and Fort Saint John, the Place d'Armes and finally MUCEM.
This is the historical center which is offered to you, but with every conceivable means of transport to get away with a wink.
Specifically, the apartment is composed as follows:
- A reception lock (with a machine for cleaning shoes) with 3 cinema seats distributed over 3 doors in front of you and a staircase to the first chamber
- The doors are 3: 1 toilet, 1 bathroom with large bath, 1 laundry room with washing machine and household products
- The lock of the stairs overlooking a mezzanine bedroom. Low ceiling and warm décor, it's all in privacy but open to the rest of the apartment through the windows. A bed of 140cm and a small piece of furniture for your business await you.
- Right of the airlock, a monumental gate that opens onto a 65m2 living room. With 4 large windows and ceiling 4,7m, it is bright and grandiose. A beautiful wooden parquet flooring, moldings Napoleon III, an old antique wooden bank for an aperitif, a television hidden in a cabinet, a huge mirror and a dining table that can comfortably accommodate 8 people. The long balcony will allow you to get fresh air and a cigarette opposite the Odeon theater, the church of the Reformed and the war memorial.
Behind the other two ports, is the kitchen, long and wide, fully equipped, bright, with a table for breakfast at 6 without sitting down to dinner.
- On the other side of the chamber, a smaller door distributes the two biggest rooms of the house. In this lock, a large storage cupboard.
- The first room to the right is a huge master suite. A 160cm bed placed on a wooden floor from the last century, Napoleon III moldings and 2 large windows overlooking an inner courtyard and an exterior corridor, very quiet. A mezzanine / dressing room is closed for this but to leave our business. Below, a bathroom with shower and sink, antique mirror and brown tiles. A large closet. Total independence.
- The other room is the so-called 'children'. She also former prosecutor, she is simply furnished with modern white furniture and antique wardrobe, it also offers a changing table for newborns. Single bed 80 under a veil with another bed drawer below.
A staircase leads to the mezzanine open on the bottom, which provides a 140cm bed and a small cupboard. In contact with ceiling moldings, this area has a special charm.
For general amenities, all rooms are air conditioned / heated independently of each other. The laundry can be dried in the outer corridor of the bottom rooms. The rooms are very quiet. The parking place is 50m underground. A Super Market is below with late opening hours, so very convenient. Pharmacy, bakery, butcher, post office, bar, restaurants, space copies and photos .... are all 50m, with public transport and the motorway.
Wow! What a most fantastic experience in Marseille staying here! First of all, Eloi is a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome from the minute he opened the front door for us. Very helpful with where to visit and how to get there. He also made dinner reservations for us at some excellent restaurants.
The apartment is very large with high vaulted ceilings and beautiful architecture and design. There were six of us there. My wife and I with our 2 young kids and my inlaws. We all had a great time there. The kids loved the kid's playroom and the 2nd floor beds.
The location of the apartment is very central. The port is a 15 min walk away. We were also able to walk to the old town, fort, museums and jardin du pharo for immaculate views of the port and city.
Marseille is such a beautiful, gritty, historic city and you can see it in the people and buildings there. We loved the walk on La Canabiere where you see all walks of life in Marseille.
Will definitely be back in the future to stay at Eloi's and see more of Marseille.

We stayed in this wonderful apartment the second week of July 2015. It's really a nice place. The owner, Eloi, goes out of his way to make sure you have everything you need and that you have a great stay. It's location is perfect for taking in all of Marseille. We had a car for the week that we were there and there is a car park right below the apartment which is very convenient and free of charge with the pass that you receive from the owner. The apartment was very comfortable, yet spacious, for our family of 7. It has a very great feel to it. We loved our time there so much that we extended our stay an extra day. Everything you need is very convenient and within a short walking distance of the apartment. I would recommend this property to anyone staying in the area.
From the moment we booked this fabulous apartment we felt we had a friend in Marseille. Eloi, the owner, emailed to let us know he was available for any inquiries leading up to and during our arrival. He became a fantastic resource in town and was a great host (there was even a handwritten note on my arrival)! The apartment is as great as it looks in pictures--even better. Well appointed, clean and with this fantastic mix of old-world architectural details, combined with a perfect blend of industrial, modern and classic furnishings. The kitchen has everything you'll need, plus some...and for those American travelers, please cook something on the induction cooktop. I promise it will make you convert from your gas range. All the bedrooms were comfortable and cozy. Given that we were there in the middle of winter (we've now experienced le mistral!) it was great to have individual temperature control in every room. I truly cannot say enough nice things about Eloi or the apartment. He will give you the best local recommendations and be available to you for any questions before and during your stay. If I were to return to Marseille, I would not hesitate to book this apartment...though I'm pretty certain he'll be booked solid for years to come.
Upon arrival, we entered this apartment and we heard wows. Our Family who travelled from Ireland entered this traditional French apartment with a touch of modern class. This incredibly spacious feeling with high ceilings and windows made us feel like we really had arrived in France. The pictures do not show how beautiful this apartment is. I don't think we have ever had as much space in an apartment, especially not in a city! Eloi met us upon our arrival and was very helpful. He was very informative and knew everything about the area. The little touches of luxury like the Nespresso machine, for example, really made our stay so comfortable. We loved coming home to this apartment every evening after a long day of outings and activities. Finishing our evening with a class of wine in this beautiful apartment was the cherry on top of a great holiday in Marseille.

Nous avons visité Marseille et déjeuné en terrasse sous un soleil radieux ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas chez nous en Eure et Loir en ce moment

En bref, appartement à recommander
Schöne, sehr zentral gelegene Wohnung in stimmungsvollem Altbau. Das Objekt bot bequem Platz für sechs Erwachsene (zwei separate Räumlichkeiten mit Doppelbetten und ein Zimmer mit zwei Einzelliegen, dazu zwei Bäder). Trotz der innerstädtischen Lage erstaunlich ruhig.
Absprache mit Vermieter verlief weitgehend unproblematisch. Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle noch einmal für den wunderbaren Restauranttip (Bistro au Cours, Cours Juilien 13, fünf MInuten zu Fuß). Fazit: Empfehlenswerte Unterkunft in quirligem Viertel, bestens geeignet, um eine tolle Stadt zu entdecken.
