Some wonderful aspects, some not so good

  • 3 of 5

The situation is fantastic - wonderful view down to Praiano and out to sea. Also good walking straight from the property. Shop and restaurant about 20 minutes walk.

The room we stayed in was generally good, enough space for two. However, the facilities were not great - just a little more spent here and there would be good. Just little things like, there were no teaspoons (eating a yoghurt with a dessert spoon isn't great!) and no small knives for preparing vegetables.

The host, Guido, was nice enough and gave a good impression of wanting to be helpful, but unfortunately fell short in this respect. On the first day we called him in to point out some problems: the main one was that the hot water tap in the kitchen did not work. I worked out that it was turned off under the sink, and when turned on it worked OK but couldn't be properly turned off. It just (probably) needed a washer changing, but never got done during our 9 days there (despite promising it would be). The TV never worked during the 9 days, there was a broken hook in the bathroom that didn't get fixed...

As I say, lovely place but needs better maintenance. Guido's staff were lovely.

Breathtaking and feels like home

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we were greeted by Guido at the front door to the time we were leaving up the driveway. Everything was magical and relaxing. The ground filled with fruit trees, so you can pick your morning breakfast to sipping the locally made wines on our private veranda overlooking the Mediterranean Sea at sunset. Furore is a beautiful quiet village with amazing and delicious restaurants. Just remember you do need a car or strong legs and enjoy walking. A beautiful rustic getaway with all the modern conveniences. The owner Guido was always available with a smile for anything we needed. A must stay when in the Amalfi Coast. Thank you Guido and good luck with the addition, we look forward to seeing you on our next visit

Amazing ocean view!!

  • 4 of 5

Nice apartment on a lovely and wonderful property which is like a little paradise with wine, figue, orange and leon trees every where! And amazing view of the beautiful landscape of Amalfi coast and stunning ocean views!

The apartment is about half an hour from Amalfi but there is everything you need FG or a pleasant stay in the little town of Furore and you can walk to restaurants, the bar and the minimarket. And a hiking trail is crossing the property that you can start directly from the apartment.

We hope that we once come back to this piece of heaven.

Guido's place was beautiful and perfect - better than we could have imagined!

  • 5 of 5

Guido is a wonderful host. He made sure we had everything we needed and helped us with boating reservations we had made. His property is breathtaking with gorgeous views of the sea. We felt like we were at our own private resort. Its location feels secluded yet it's conveniently located between Amalfi and Positano. We hope to make it back here soon for a longer stay!

This place is amazing. It was very clean and spacious enough for 2 couples. The terrace view cannot be beat!

Guido was a great host; he waited for us even when we arrived later than expected. He also took the time to print off bus schedules for us, helped us rent scooters, and recommended a delicious restaurant for dinner.

Furore is not a huge touristy city on the Amalfi Coast. There are pros and cons about this.

Pros: You get to experience the "local vibe". It's a lot quieter and more relaxing.

Cons: This posed some problems for us when trying to get to the bigger towns like Amalfi and Positano. There is a bus stop in Furore, but the bus was not reliable at all. It is scheduled to come by only a couple times, and sometimes, when it did come, it was already full so it just drove past you. Good luck getting anywhere for at least a couple of hours when (and IF) the next bus shows up. And we were there in September, which is an "off season", so I can't imagine how crowded buses are in the busy summer season. That's why we ended up renting scooters. Yes, it is kind of scary at first with all of the winding roads. But we just drove slow and were careful, and we were fine. We actually ended up having a lot of fun with the scooters, so I would recommend doing that.

Excuse my rant, but I hope this will be helpful for at least someone!
