Stunning countryside location with mountain views for peace and tranquility

Shona Beag is a luxury one bedroom annexe off the main guest house perfectly suited for couples. The annexe benefits from its own private entrance and off road parking as well as a private decking with table and chairs to the front from which to sit and enjoy the view.

The property has under gone a full renovation and makes the perfect cosy retreat for 2.

Luxury Extras

To make your stay extra special we have added the following to the apartment :DVD player with a range of up-to-date DVDs, IPod Docking station, Highland Aromatics Luxury toiletries, Map of the local area, board games and welcome hamper on arrival which includes two small bottles of wine, fresh eggs, loaf of bread from the local bakery, shortbread, milk, butter and sachets or tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

On the 1st of April 2016 we will open a restaurant in the guest house next door so you will be able to come round for a meal showcasing the best of local produce such as venison, shellfish, beef and pork

We also offer a mid week cleaning service at a small charge which can be arranged on your arrival.

Holidays run from Saturday to Saturday with arrival from 4pm onwards and departure no later than 10.00am.

Food Shopping

The local shop is in the village of Acharacle (2 miles away) where you will find the basics required during your holiday. For a larger shop Fort William has a Morrisons, small tescos and a Co-Op in Corpach just outside the town. In Acharacle we also have our own local bakery selling home made loafs of bread, rolls, cakes etc. For fresh salad, fruits and vegetables Becky Dacre at Sheilfoot Organics can be contacted on 01967 431 811 and is located 5 miles away.

We also run a Venison Business and butcher the meat ourselves. Depending on the season will depend on what we have in stock but if you would like to purchase some venison please come into the guest house and we can let you know what we have in available – typically venison burgers, fillet steak, roasts and stew


The nearest butcher to us is in Fort William and for the best meat at the best price we would recommend John MacMillian Butchers found in Annat Industrial Estate. His telephone number is 01397 705 938 should you wish to put in an order.

Petrol Station

The nearest petrol station is 12 miles away in Strontian. Opening times are from 8am till 7pm daily. Please be aware that we are quite remote and we recommend filling up in Fort William or Glencoe (depending which direction your coming from) to ensure that you dont run out of fuel.

Internet Access

Please be aware that sometimes the Wifi can come and go in the apartment (we are in the process of trying to fix this) but guests are welcome to come into the dining room in the guest house at any time of day or night for internet access.

John and i have always lived in the area and love the outdoor life. We are very proud of our guest house Mingarry Park and the self catering Shona Beag. We knocked most of the building down and re-built in 2012 to create a brand new up to date property for guests enjoyment.

We booked this self catering on spec knowing that it was one of two self catering units attached to the Mingarry Park Guest House. The accommodation and facilities were excellent and there were no problems at all during our weeks stay. The owners were very helpful and the position afforded superb country views. Ideally situated for walks, history, wildlife, scenery and reasonable access to the ferries to the Isle of Mull. Ardnamurchan Lighthouse is a must, especially if it's a bit breeezy ! After a long day out it was a pleasure to come back to and relax.

Although we didn't eat in the Guest House the food did look excellent.
