Fantastic place to stay! Exceeded all expectations!

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting the Bayeux area. It's not in town, so be aware that you will need a car to drive to town. it's about 10 minutes. Huge rooms, wonderfully decorated and a beautiful garden setting. Well equipped with everything you need. The 3 bedroom unit that we stayed in is likely bigger than your own home. Claudia is a wonderful host and makes you feel at home. The wifi is a little spotty if you use 2.4 Ghz, but the 5 Ghz seems to be fine.

Charming castle with modern amenities and beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

Thank you to Claudia for her hospitality. The owner lives on site (not in the apartment!!!) and is there for any challenges (we had none) or questions, including recommendations for places of interest. She and her family were very gracious hosts. You are comfortably separated and secluded in a fully furnished apartment that easily sleeps 6, has all conveniences like dishwasher / clothes washer - dryer, and beautiful views front and back. It is furnished with good quality linen and towels - all together a very comfortable experience for family of 5.

The property is less than 15 minutes from Bayeux - perfect for living in the country with access to the city.

Great access to Bayeu and Caen, and all the beautiful villages in northwest France, especially to the D-Day beaches and museums. There are several ways to get there - by train to Bayeux or flight to Caen. We drove from Paris, which was a beautiful drive, as well as allowing us to adventure in each direction from Conde-sur Seulles and see this magnificent part of France.

There is a lot to see and do, or, this would be a beautiful place to do nothing.

Highly recommend this property.

Dream Chateau in the French Country Side

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to stay. The décor and surroundings gave us the feeling of being in France during the golden days of country living. Our VRBO had three very comfortable bed rooms - great for three couples traveling together. The kitchen and living area made was roomy and beautifully decorated.

You do need to have a car to enjoy the VRBO and the surrounding area. We toured Mont St, Michel, Bayeux and the D-Day beaches, The little town near the chateau was a great place for a leisurely walk,

Out host Claudia was very helpful in both planning for our stay and during our stay, We especially enjoyed our coffee with her when she shared the rich history of the chateau with us,

The VRBO was not just a place to stay but a major part of our Normandy experience, Should we ever stay in Normandy again we would surely return.

Normandy visit wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We just loved our stay at this apartment in the orangery near Bayeux. There were 4 of us from Illinois staying May 15-18, 2017. The apartment was furnished with style and comfort down to the pictures on the wall and the lovely lamps. It had everything we could ask for in it. Claudia was a joy and greeted us with a bottle of Champaign, showed us all that we needed and was very helpful with advice on the area. She also gave us a history of the chateau and orangery. She hosted us to coffee and cake before we left. I will recommend this place to anyone traveling to Normandy. Thanks Claudia!

A hidden gem in a small Normandy Village

  • 5 of 5

We have used vrbo.com for many years in our travels and always been very satisfied with our choices. But, this rental went way beyond our expectations. It is a 3 bedroom apartment set in a former 18th century castle. The apartment is modern, yet set perfectly in the time period above. It is spacious with extremely clean bedrooms, bathrooms and all living areas. Claudia Bonneu took great care of us, even setting up a doctor's appointment for my sister who had gotten ill. The last evening she invited us into the castle rooms (her families home for twenty years), opened a premiere bottle of Bordeaux wine and we spent over an hour getting to know each other and our backgrounds much better. As it is out in a small village, Conde-sur-Seulles, we were unsure of how convenient it would be for our shopping and time in Bayeux. Not a problem, as it took little time at all to get anywhere in the city we had as a destination. We will definitely stay here if we ever return and would highly recommend this gem to travelers looking for something a step above! Gary & Diane

Great Location for Exploring Normandy

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a central location to explore the D-Day beaches, Mont Saint Michel, Bayeux, and other sights for a 5 day Winter vacation with another couple in Normandy. This spacious 3 bedroom apartment/cottage was a wonderful spot to center our adventures. Our host Claudia handled our pre- and post-stay communication efficiently, and was gracious in inviting us over coffee to share the history of her adjacent castle home. We would highly recommend this rental to others.
