Great pool

1st time here and 7 of us in total + 2 dogs. Good location walking distance from supermarket and boulongerie. Great covered veranda to sit and eat under. Best pool we’ve ever had for cleanliness. Good sized downstairs bedroom. Doubles upstairs but smaller. House was well equipped for glasses and kitchen equipment. Lots of bity thing’s outside but that’s normal for south of France.

A quaint french country get-away

The villa is secluded with almost complete privacy and a substantial amount of surrounding land. Despite the close proximity of the Haribo factory, the surrounding trees and vegetation do an excellent job of giving you the impression that civilisation is a long way off as the factory can neither be seen or heard. The villa itself was very clean with everything you could need. A modern and well equipped kitchen housed a large fridge/freezer with ice machine. Parts of the villa have been modernised (downstairs areas), with other parts fairly basic. The pool is smaller than appears in the pictures (they always are!) but was more than adequate for our two families. The wifi and internet always worked and even allowed one of us to participate in a works video conference call for over an hour with no connectivity issues. The only down side was the constant attack of mosquitos and other biting insects. Although I 've been to many tropical countries and holidayed in the South of France a number of times, this was the worst I've experienced. None of the local bought repellents seemed to work. The owners were very welcoming and through our pigeon French and their broken English, easily managed to explain everything we needed to know when we arrived. The location of the villa is secluded with many other neighbouring and similarly secluded villas. It is a 10 minute walk to the nearby supermarket and other outlets, but the main town of Uzes is a 5 minute drive, and too far to walk. Uzes is a traditional and fashionable (and at times expensive) town, with lots happening and many good restaurants. Well worth a number of visits. The locals are very friendly with many speaking English. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.
