Why Sonya Meline chose Temecula

We fell in love with this home for three reasons, 1) The pool instantly got us excited! We were so in love with the idea of spending long afternoons lying by the pool and jumping in to cool off. 2) The are is close to some of our faves! Old Town, the Wineries, and so many great restaurants. 3) The house is designed perfectly for groups and families.

What makes this house unique

No need to purchase bottled water, as we have an in house RO water system that makes our water taste yummy! The hot tub is huge, and great for a nice soak after a long day wine tasting or at the theme parks. Garage is super nice. The lighting in the pool is very high end, great for a night under the stars. The ceilings are very tall in most rooms. Which I love!

Quiet and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Sonya was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to end. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood, the pool was clean and it was fun floating around. Though it was just 2 of us, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The home was clean, and she even had fresh lemons, a bottle of wine for us, roses from her garden, and candy for the movie room. The house "book" had great instructions for the movie room and so forth.

Wonderful stay, would highly recommend

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here for a wedding in the area in May 2018. The house was exactly as described online, if not nicer! Sonya has thought of everything when it comes to amenities in this home. We had a very comfortable stay and if we ever return would love to stay here again! Communication with the host was timely and they were more than happy to help out in any way. The neighborhood is quiet & close to many shops/restaurants. This was perfect for our trip and would highly recommend, you will not be disappointed!

Affordable and comfortable.

  • 4 of 5

Clean, spacious, and comfortable house centrally located in a quiet neighborhood, not far from Temecula Old Town and vineyards. Property owner, Sonya Meline, greeted us ahead of check in time with a bottle of wine... nice touch. She also allowed extra time when it was time to check out. The price was reasonable, and we will definitely stay there again if we ever need to visit Temecula in the future.

We loved it

  • 5 of 5

Mike and Sonya were gracious hosts. We were in Temecula for our daughter’s wedding so we couldn’t enjoy the house’s amenities for lack of time but their home had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the house was perfect for my family. We would stay here again if we make it back to Temecula.

Stunning house with amazing host

  • 5 of 5

Sonya's house is AMAZING. The decor, the vibe, the mood, the layout - everything is PERFECT. You will not regret booking this house. We were in town for a wedding...so the worst part was that our busy schedule did not allow for enough time to enjoy the house (the pool, the hot tub, the basketball hoop, the grill, the movie theater room...we could have not left for days!) If you are on the fence, book this house. Plus, Sonya is so wonderful. She is very warm and welcoming, goes out of her way to make her home your home for the stay. She is such a pleasure to work with. I could not think of anything I would change or want to have done differently.

Great house and pool

  • 4 of 5

The house is great with 4 bedrooms and pool/hot tub. The pool is not heated so for spring and fall it will be cold. Summertime i bet it stays warmer.

We used the 7 seat movie room almost every night, there was even a theater style popcorn maker.

The gas BBQ was nice and the kitchen is well appointed, including a separate drink/wine fridge. There is a half court basketball court and ball that was fun.

Some things need some attention...the outside furniture has damage from the sun, but its in very usable condition. In the summer months you might need more shade. There was one umbrella and a lattice type arbor, but in the summer i dont think that would be enough.

There were some landscaping issues and some uneven patio sections but other wise it's great.

All in all, a nice house but not new or perfect, but i dont need that sort of house anyway....

The owner seems nice and attentive.

Temecula is considered Southern California's wine country. Many people might not think of Cali having a wine country south of Santa Barbara or even Napa, but boy are they wrong. Southern California is teaming with fertile vineyards and and world-class wineries. In only a few short years, Temecula has gone from a sleepy town to a hot/trendy wine destination.

Being in Southern California (SoCal), Temecula lies 22 miles east of the ocean, and is about equidistant from Los Angels and San Diego. Most of the wineries in the Temecula Valley can be found sprawling along the winding Rancho California Road, reached by car from our home in only five minutes. Temecula is now, much like Napa was before it became known around the world.

Another joy of the area is the proximity to excursions, all reached in just about 1.5 hours. From the surf and sun of San Diego, or charm and heat of Palm Springs, or bustle and shopping in Orange County, or culture and arts of Los Angeles - and then return to the sleepy community of Temecula as your retreat away from it all. Or stay closer still, and visit the Avocado Capital of the World, Fallbrook - only a 15 minute drive south - popular for the Myrtle Creek Botanical Gardens and Farm. Or head north a short drive up to the Glen Ivy Hot Springs. It’s the type of place where you can spend a full afternoon lounging and sipping cocktails by the pool with friends. Admission grants visitors daylong access to the spa's facilities, from the red-clay outdoor mud baths to the many mineral tubs (if you can stand the stinky sulfur, you’ll experience skin-softening bliss) to the bone-dry sauna. Spa treatments, such as facials and massages add to the ultimate day soaking in all of SoCal's sunny relaxation.

In addition to wine tasting, and excursions to the surrounding areas, Temecula itself boasts some of the best weather in the world, most any time of year, so better plan some outdoor fun! Picnicking in the rolling hills or visit Old Town Temecula, the most popular tourist site in the Valley. The charming, bustling area of town will have you and your guests feeling like you are on the set of an old western: wooden boardwalks, vintage saloons, missions, and historic buildings for touring - still intact from the 1800s. Yet the modern-California flair has swept the town too, and you can find fantastic restaurants like Public House Gastropub, Baily's Fine Dining, Gourmet Italia, The Edge ultra-mod for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Another way to do it is to eat and drink your way through wine country. The restaurants range from fun to fine, and from undiscovered to critically acclaimed. Enjoy farm-to-table tapas at Meritage in Callaway or upscale Mediterranean with sweeping views at The Pinnacle of Falkner. Or if you enjoy golf, or just really good food overlooking the swanky greens of Temecula Creek Inn, as you step into Cork-Fire Kitchen for a flavorful experience!

Temecula has all of the amenities you could want or desire, yet is still isolated enough to feel like you have escaped the hustle and bustle of city life. Returning home each day, you will pass equestrian homes, possibly see hot air balloons dotting the sky, and likely recharge from all your activities with long afternoons by the pool - in a quiet setting and under the warm California sunshine. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful Temecula Valley!
