LOCATION--- Our Dreamcatcher Cabin is perfectly located between Zion National Park (22miles) and Bryce Canyon National Park (44miles) on highway 89 at mile marker 91.9.
CABIN---People tell us they love our cozy little cabin and the nature that surrounds it. With the majestic mountains as a stunning back drop, a pristine trout stream runs just past the cabin. Dreamcatcher has high vaulted ceilings and walls sculpted in the Southwest style. The kitchen has everything for the Chef to preform his or her magic, including spices etc. The bedroom has a queen sized bed and a 40 inch hi def TV and blue ray player and wifi. The living room has a new queen sized sofa sleeper, very comfortable.
It is intimate and cozy. Perfect for two couples or a small family. There are board games inside and nature outside
If you haven't hiked enough in Bryce Canyon, Zion and Grand Canyon, you can hike to the top of the mountain behind the Dreamcatcher Cabin. Looking down half way into the valley, you will see a hidden lake. Old timers from the area say that there is no bottom to this lake. As boys, they connected all the wire in the valley and attached it to a rock. They never found the bottom.
ATTRACTIONS-Make no mistake about it, the canyons are the BIG events. [Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and Grand Canyon]. They are exciting and dramatic! But it is also wonderful to come home, relax, and sit and listen to the soothing sounds of serene nature. The bright blue sky, mountain vistas, and the starry, starry nights would capture Van Gogh's heart.
Audrey was a nurse for many years and Terry was an iron worker. We have children, grandchildren and one great grand child. Sounds like we are old. Nonsense! My wife can hold one end of a sheet rock while I nail it. Don't let the fact that she is little, fool you. I don't mess with her and I am six feet five inches tall. Ours is a love story, so I'm partial and I brag a little.
I am a Vietnam era veteran who is an avid Veteran for Peace. Audrey is from the Western Shoshone Tribe whose brother was killed in Vietnam, We have a passion to end our wars. We love the Veterans who are suffering greatly with mental and physical disorders related to the wars. We are also advocates for alternative energy. We love all people and believe that all people are the same irrespective, of color, shape or size.
We named our cabin 'Dreamcatcher' because of my wife's Native American culture. Dreamcatchers, made in the shape of funnel, catch the bad dreams and let the good ones through so that you can snuggle
into our comfortable beds and let the happy dreams come. My beautiful wife, the love of everyone that meets her, including me, greets our guest with a sincere desire to serve and share.
Terry Behling purchased this cabin in 1994
As we drove from the desert looking for property we were drawn to the beauty of this enchanted valley by the green trees and mountains.
We were looking to leave the smog filled city and change our life style. We had only two requirements: that the property had water and trees, it had more than water, it had a pristine trout stream. It had more than trees, it was covered with trees. We were ecstatic. We bought the place immediately. For the next several years we built three cabins.
Nestled up againist a majestic mountian covered with trees are three log cabins. A garden and orchards first come into view after you cross the bridge over our little trout stream which is the east fork of the Virgin river. Traveling on you will come to the first cabin, the Dreamcatcher which is surrounded by fruit trees and a garden. Get out and relax in our swinging chair under the cherry tree and take a deep breath of the pure mountain air while you recuperate from the drive or have a drink on the patio and kick back and take in the scenery.
Everything that was ever here in the way of wild life is still here. We have on occasion seen elk, deer, rabbits, coyotes, skunks, and badgers. I could go on, but you get the picture. The most frequent animal guests are Hummingbirds, wild turkeys and squirrels. The reason for the animal life is that the area behind us is untouched by man with the exception of a few ranchers.
Had a wonderful stay at Dream Catcher! Perfect location! Lovely cabin with all the amenities and a great hostess! A great base camp for Zion and Bryce! Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts (including Rocket)!
This was everything it was promised: quiet, comfortable, accommodating in every way. Besides the convenience of the washer & dryer, the kitchen was the best equipped of any place we've stayed. Our hosts were there when we needed something, but not at all intrusive. And having those abundant pear and apple trees outside our door did not hurt. The location is perfect for exploring this corner of beautiful Utah: National Parks/Monuments, State Parks, and scenic highways.
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It was well equipped with all the essentials needed. My husband and I stayed for 7 nights and visited the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion. We loved being greeted by Rocket, Audrey and Terry's pup :) upon our arrival. Audrey was very sweet showing the cabin to us. We stayed in the Dream Catcher Cabin. As for grocery shopping we suggest the Family Dollar Store for most items. Thunderbird was a good place to eat either on your way in or out of Zion. It was 9/10-9/17, 2016 when we stayed and the weather was perfect. Only rained one night and it was very relaxing falling asleep while the storm came. Two deer greeted us we came in one night. Loved it here!
My wife and I stayed in the cabin for a little over a week for our honeymoon. It was a great size with a nicely stocked kitchen. It was very clean and comfortable. Drives to Zion, Bryce, and Grand Canyon National Parks are easy from the cabin. The scenery in the whole area, including both the National Parks and the area immediately surrounding the cabin, was breathe-taking. The owner was very helpful when needed but also gave you your privacy if there were no problems. (We didn't have any problems. We just talked with the owners a few times when we saw them in passing.) There is no Air-Conditioning in the cabins but it wasn't needed. It's set in the shade and even in the beginning of August it was cool, it even got cold at night. We would highly recommend staying at this cabin for anybody interested in a beautiful escape.
We flew into Las Vegas Airport. It was convenient to get to but about a 4 hour drive to the cabin.
Our overall experience was good. The kitchen was perfect for preparing meals and getting ready for our hikes to Bryce and Zion. Everything was clean and well stocked for our needs.
The Dream Catcher Cabin was a good place to sit back and relax. It was fully equipped with all that you needed. We went on several local hikes, in the area of the cabin, that were both beautiful and lacked the masses of people at Bryce and Zion. We played golf at a near by course that was well kept and pretty. Loved the hummingbirds at the feeder outside the bedroom window. We enjoyed our stay.
