We booked guys weekend for NCAA tournament and cable didn't work. When we contacted property manager she contacted cable company and they told her signal was strong and everything was fine. The cable didn't work. I specifically requested that the house be cleaner than last year where there was dust and cobwebs throughout house and it wasn't done. Check now in the bathroom of the upstairs room and you'll find the same cobwebs in the upper corners. Finally, the heat was set at 67 and couldn't be changed. We were all a little cold. If I were the owner, I would consider another property manager and cleaning service. I would also upgrade the electronics a bit. The tv's are small, the DVD player didn't work downstairs and the cable box on the main floor didn't work. The sixth bedroom is a tiny closet sized room, so I didn't really appreciate the $300 plus rate hike from last year.
We loved this huge cabin! There were 16 family members that met for our stay. There was plenty of room for everyone, all together, or in separate spaces. Loved the huge dining table, so we could all eat together!
We were here off season, so we didn't utilize the river activities at all. It was a cold week while we were there, but Jack came and turned the heat up for us, and the additional 2 fireplaces kept us plenty warm.
We even ended up extending our stay a night, with no trouble, because it was hard to leave!
We would stay there again if we're in that area in the future.
The house was pretty rough. Has a lot of potential, but needs some investment. Refrigerator stopped working on the first day spoiled the majority of our food costing us all our perishable food. Ceramic tile in basement bathroom broken, covered with floor mat, guest injured foot. Heat registers in basement bedrooms not working. Guests were very cold as temps were in the 20s and 30s. Doors are very drafty. Lots of wood screws still hanging out of walls. Some of the handrails are not stable.
All in, 2 out of 5 stars.
Happy to discuss of you want to give me a call.
The family had a great time. It was a cold damp weekend and the people sleeping in the basement were cold along with the security system beeping and requiring an intervention every few hours(the note explained the process to silence it. It needed a battery) there were a few inconveniences. We were happy in each other’s company. The house is rustic, roomy, and quite pleasant. The location is terrific.
