Recently gut renovated to create a modern cabin, the decor is stylish , yet comfortable and casual. It's city living, but in the trees! Greenwood Lake sits just below, and depending on the season, you often have a great view of the water. Even if the trees are in full bloom, you still get access to the water for all sorts of summer and winter activities. Enjoy the neighborhoods semi-private beach (must respect neighbors) or try the bigger town beach in Greenwood Lake Village. All bed sheets, towels, and basic household goods are supplied. Central A/C, heat, and wifi are also provided. Enjoy cooking in the open kitchen, or on the deck and gas grill! The local drive in move theater, lake paddle boards, and the Warwick Apple Picking festival are just a few activities you can expect to happen in the area. Its not just for summer and fall either. With glass everywhere, snowfall and a wood fire in our new retro fireplace, make for the perfect cozy winter weekend. If you enjoy ice fishing or snow mobiling, we have that nearby too. All this is just over an hour from the city! Book your stay now before the 2018 Calendar fills up! Summer's will go fast.

About Douglas Segulja
I am a young architect in NYC. Check out my instagram @ossoarch. I purchased the house in 2015 and spent two years undertaking a big overhaul, doing a lot of the work myself. The #deertrailhouse has been a labor of love, but well worth it. During this time, I've grown to love Lake Greenwood and the surrounding area. The neighbors and community are warm and welcoming. I hope you will find this all to be true too!

Why Douglas Segulja chose Greenwood Lake
The property is unlike many in the area. It offers all the rustic beauty of mountain and lake living, while also providing the modern conveniences we all enjoy while on vacation or holiday! The large open kitchen is perfect for your inner chef and vaulted ceiling provide a feeling of luxury. With all the new glass windows and skylights, it's hard not to feel like you're living in the trees. Every season is spectacular too! The summers are breezy and relaxing with wonderful lake access. The fall is spectacular as the foliage changes right before your eyes. The winter can't be beat with snowfall, an full lake view, and fire roaring. And spring is the perfect season to experience all the local flowers in bloom. There really isn't a bad time to visit.

Nice, relaxing place
Quite and relaxing stay, with an interesting little town and nice people. House is well equipped, nice place.
Delightful cabin in a peaceful setting
The beds were very comfortable and the cabin had everything needed for a relaxing stay.
Relaxing week in NY
We had a group of 5 adults that stayed in the deer trail cabin. It had plenty of room and the views from the cabin of all the trees were beautiful. It was a great location to visit the world headquarters Jehovah’s Witnesess and surrounding complexes. It was also a easy drive to NYC, We really enjoyed having a central location to come back to every night. We really enjoyed our stay!
Lovely House near a Lovely Lake
Our little family of 5, including a 3 year-old boy and 5 month old twins, enjoyed a comfortable stay in Doug’s lovely cabin. The house is very well designed, nicely furnished with lots of sunlight, space, and modern amenities. The bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms were very nice and the beds were very comfortable.
Doug was very responsive to all questions that we had about the house and Greenwood Lake. Some of our favorite activities were the neighborhood beach, Belleville Farms Creamery (for delicious ice cream), Ochs Ochards, Warwick Winery (one of our favorite places to visit). We also made our way out to the Storm King Art Center and Woodbury Commons.
The only things to note is that there are quite a few steep hills to drive up to get to the house and the driveway is fairly steep, but we made it work with no issues. Also, the well water is a bit harsh and if you wash it may turn some items of clothes yellowish but somehow my son’s eczema disappeared while we were there and has yet to return!
Overall, we highly recommend this house. It is a wonderful break from the hustle and bustle of the city!
Hi Taiese, thank you for the wonderful review! So glad your family had a fun time at the house and exploring the area. The longer I'm up there, the more I realize all the fun activities there are to do.
That's great news about your son's eczema clearing up! I had no idea it could have that effect. I actually just had a commercial grade filtration system installed. All of the wells in the area have iron minerals in them, but this seems to have take can of the issue. Hopefully no more yellowish spots, although now that we know it helped with your sons skin, maybe I should bottle it pre-filtration and see if it helps other!
Thanks again for staying. Come back anytime!
We really enjoyed our stay here! The beds were comfy, the kitchen was nice, and the bathrooms were pretty cool. We also enjoyed the grill and the deck, especially the swing. Doug was very easy to communicate with and made sure we had what we needed. Very nice experience!!!
Thank you for the compliments Vanessa! So glad to host your group and always enjoyable to hear when it was a wonderful experience. Come back anytime!
Beautiful house in a lovely part of the world
My husband, father, two toddlers and I spent a relaxed few days at Douglas' house. It's a beautiful house and just what we were looking for. The private beach was perfect for the girls (there are beach toys and chairs provided) and we had a great time picking strawberries at Ochs Orchard. On the other side of the lake we enjoyed lunch at Cove Castle (which appears to have a well place bar and live music) and our girls had a great time when we rented a boat for an hour (no boating licence required). I'd highly recommend the house and the area and Douglas was very helpful and good at communicating.
