4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with parking and WiFi
Whether you’re a walker, beach lover, golfer, or just want to explore Cornwall – then Spinnakers is the perfect holiday home from which to do it.
Spinnakers is a spacious contemporary Cornish family-home which is beautifully maintained and offers easy access to Swanpool Beach, Falmouth Bay Golf Club, a plethora of coastal pathways, classy restaurants and the beautiful Cornish countryside.
It is a three-storey house in a quiet cul-de-sac location, and sleeps seven people courtesy of one king-size bedroom, two double bedrooms and one single bedroom. There is also a large living area, kitchen-diner, three bathrooms, utility room, garage and two allocated parking spaces.
The ground floor houses the first of the double bedrooms, a modern shower room and a utility-room complete with washer and dryer. You’ll also find the garage here which most guests, due to the extra parking spaces, tend to store their beach and sailing gear.
On the first floor is the kitchen-diner, extremely well-equipped with everything you’ll need in the way of crockery and cutlery as well as a double electric-oven, gas hob, microwave and large fridge freezer. The living room is lovely and big, well-lit and tastefully decorated, with comfortable leather sofas and chairs, a gigantic huge flat-screen TV (with Freeview), DVD player, Nintendo Wii, and free Wi-Fi. This floor also has the benefit of a family bathroom.
The top-floor hosts the other three bedrooms where a second Freeview TV and ensuite shower-room can be found in the king-size master bedroom. All the bedroom and bathrooms are decorated in keeping with the modern, light and relaxing design of the remainder of the house, and the whole house is centrally heated. All towels and bed-linen are provided, and should you require a cot and/or a high-chair they are available on request.
The house also has a boasts a nicely kept and secure garden which is an ideal sun spot a great place to enjoy a welcome cold beer or wine after a day of activity.
Guests are also welcome to bring one well-behaved family dog.
The famous Swanpool beach is just a few minutes walk from Spinnakers and the way there will take you through the local nature reserve. Once at the beach you can enjoy its natural beauty, sunbathe and/or participate in a plethora of watersports including canoeing, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, raft-building and coasteering. The Swanpool Beach Cafe is also a great place to sample some of the local produce and they serve scrumptious home-made food and cakes, whilst ice-cream lovers will want to tuck into their quirky line of ice-creams. The owners are lovely and very proud of the cafe’s fun and friendly reputation.
Falmouth Golf Club’s par 72 course is a great test of any level of golfer’s ability and the club welcomes you whatever your handicap. Even if you’re not playing well you’ll still enjoy the way the course winds through the Cornish cliff-tops and offers breathtaking views of Falmouth Bay. Walkers of all enthusiasms can enjoy a variety of coastal paths and there are other nearby beaches at Gyllngavase and Maenport.
In Falmouth you’ll find a variety of restaurants, pasty shops and takeaways – perfect for when you don’t feel like cooking, whilst there are plenty of bars and pubs to let your hair down in later.
We’ve enjoyed loads of family holidays at Spinnakers – we hope you do, too.

Swanpool’s sheltered location and calm waters – which are protected from the wind in most directions – makes it ideal for the safe launch of small sailing boats and paddle craft. Numerous rocky coves and secret beaches can be explored by kayak or by coasteering around the bay, opening up parts of Cornwall other holidaymakers just cannot reach.
Just inland is Swanpool’s nature reserve, a nice place to for a leisurely stroll or to feed the ducks. The pool itself is a brackish lagoon (which means it’s a mix of salt and fresh water) and is the only place in the UK where you’ll find a Trembling Sea Mat, a rare form of microscopic animal that has made Swanpool a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
There is a host of coastal wildlife to enjoy in and around the beach, including our resident pair of swans. The local watersports activities have little or no impact on the environment, so you might even be lucky enough to spot seals, dolphins or basking sharks who aren’t threatened by your presence as you paddle or sail around the bay.
Although Swanpool is close to the centre of Falmouth, with its restaurants, shops and leisure amenities, the beach itself is remarkably unspoilt, with a real sense of peace and old-fashioned seaside charm, complete with beach huts and the world famous (in Cornwall, at least) quirky ice-creams.
The latter are provided by an excellent beach café and Hooked on the Beach, a restaurant that has stunning views over Swanpool bay. It is a great spot to while away a relaxing evening after a day on the water.
