Come with low expectations
We picked this house mostly because of the location and ability to lodge a larger group. It was less than 20 minutes from the marina, and it comfortably fit our group. However, the house itself was rather disappointing. Although listed as a house meant for 12, there is only seating for 8. There were not blankets or fitted sheets on many of the beds, with some beds just covered in a large top sheet that was folded in half. There was a dishwasher, but it was not hooked up. The swamp coolers leaked all over the back patio. The house did not feel incredibly clean. The carpets were gross and left the bottoms of our feet black. There were dead bugs all over the floor. The kitchen came "fully equipt" but was missing many essential items. Before arriving, I spent a couple days trying to get ahold of the owner, and eventually got a phone number that turned out to be the lodge. I had called to see if we needed to bring our own bath towels and was told that the Ticaboo Lodge would be cleaning our house and providing clean towels daily. -They did not come once.
Additionally, there was no instruction on what we needed to do prior to leaving. What should we do with our garbage? did we need to make sure all the dishes were clean? Take the bedding off?
Honestly, I'd probably stay here again, because the location can't be beat. However, this was one of the more primitive rentals I've stayed at. I wish I had known to bring my own bedding, towels, kitchen items, etc.
