Centrally located between Desert Isle and Schoodic Point
This was the perfect place for our vacation get away!
Downeast
It is a very nice property with plenty of room. I stayed here once before and it's nice to see they have done some upgrades. I would definitely stay here again.
It's All in the Presentation
The property was excellently presented by the photographer of the premises but honestly, it's the region that makes the visit all worthwhile. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park should be on everyone's bucket list.
Family Reunion in Maine
My family and I have been traveling to the Bar Harbor, Maine area each summer for 30+ years. This year's stay included 11 people (7 adults, 4 children). We chose this home mostly for the size, and were not disappointed. It is even bigger than the pictures indicate! The home was immaculate! Bathrooms were spotless! Bedrooms were comfortable with fans in each room. The grounds were beautiful and offered plenty of space for the kids to play and explore. We spent most of our time around the kitchen table or on one of the porches. The owner, Trish, was very responsive and helpful. While I wish the house was a bit closer to Bar Harbor, we are glad to have explored a new area and feel fortunate to have had a week in this grand home.
Dream Vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! The home accommodated our large group very comfortably!!
Family vacation
We had so much yard to play in. There was enough room for 16 people to move around and do their own thing. A sandy beach being closer would have been a plus, but it was ana amazing stay anyway
Location
Hancock Point is a classic summer community surrounded by water. The beautiful 'Point' includes a boat harbor (sailing lessons available), tennis courts (lessons also available), historic library, and chapel all within an easy walk. Great for riding bikes or walking. Kayak rental also available in the area. The nearby Crocker House Country Inn offers fine dining and additional guest accommodations. Other excellent dining opportunities within five miles. Just 25 charming miles away is Mount Desert Island with Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Also nearby are several freshwater lakes for fishing, boating, swimming, and hiking, as well as a public golf course.
The town of Ellsworth with shopping (including L.L. Bean), restaurants, and entertainment is just 15 minutes away. The Pierre Monteux conducting school offers evening concerts within 10 minutes. The perfect vacation get-away!
Other Activities: Historic Library within walking distance.
