This bright and airy villa is nestled in the heart of the var with stunning views of fayence, a charming 12 century perched village.
The property offers 120m2 lovable space on a 2378m2 garden. The attractive and practical villa leads onto a dining verandah with breathtaking views; to the side set in this beautiful terraced garden is a modern pool with shaded dining area. This house has everything for those looking for the beautiful provencal outside lifestyle with a backdrop of palm trees and the Lester hills across the valley. The villa is close to a good supermarket and the finest boulangerie in the valley. Ascend the hill up through the Saracen gate to the bustling market square and take your pick from the many fine bars and restaurants in this ancient town. The region has something for everyone, an ideal base for a visit to the peerless beaches of the cote d'azur and glamorous Cannes or the awe inspiring canyon at the gorges de Verdun. Locally there is horse riding, gliding, golf and lake water sports and fayence hosts numerous live performance shows, vintage vehicle rallies and art fairs during the summer.
My husband and two children (5 and 8) had an absolutely wonderful holiday. The views are glorious; the pool and house are lovely. We drove down to the valley and went cycling, swam in the enormous local lake, which is only a short drive away, and visited Nice. A superb week. It could not have been better.
Wonderful villa with the most amazing views of the countryside and hilltop village of fayence from the terrace. Beautiful big pool and outside area with lots of space including table tennis and boules pitch! The scent of the lavender and the huge palm trees will stay with us. There are many local restaurants -lovely food and atmosphere at Le Bellevue at Callian and the Lac de St Cassien which is only 15 mins away is definitely worth a visit. I would heartily recommend the villa for location, views and the exceptional outside space and pool. Great customer service - emails were answered quickly and the manager was very accommodating.
Fayence is one of five perched villages in the Canton de Fayence. Each of these is worth a visit with their old cobblestone narrow streets, their fantastic views over the valley and toward the mountains.
The area offers something for everybody from mountaineering, to white water rafting in the Gorge du Verdon, canoeing or paddle boating on the lake St. Cassian, golf on the Terrace Blance in Tourrettes or even visits to the nearby beaches of Cannes and Frejus.
Enjoy the good restaurants; visit the local wine yards, shop at the local vegetable markets. The area offers restaurants from the simple local food to two star Michelin restaurants.
If you enjoy music the villages offer music festivals over the summer months everything from opera to jazz.
Finally we are so close to places like St. Tropez, Monaco and Antibes places that are all worth a visit.
Other Activities: Glider flying
Golf: If you are interested in golf there are plenty of possibilities within an hours drive but the closest is the famous Terre Blance golf in Tourrettes by Fayence, which offers two 18 hole courses.
This is a five star establishment.
Ski: There are also many possibilities for skiing. Just north of Fayence and only one hours drive you will find the first hills but if you require alpine skiing you will find the Alps only 2 hours drive north of Nice. Fantastic skiing and beautiful area.
