Fantastic, cozy home in the Tuscany countryside

  • 5 of 5

Andrea and Lucia are the greatest hosts you could ask for. They are kind, hospitable, and chock full of great recommendations. Not to mention, Lucia's breakfasts are amazing! The location of the house is wonderful as it's right outside of Florence, and a short drive away from everywhere else you want to go. The house is clean, and you have all of the amenities that you need. I hope to come back for a visit soon!

Lovely Country B&B

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Un Angolo di Provenza B&B! It is a beautiful peaceful country setting. Wake to the rooster each day... (ok, sometimes the rooster is a little early...) and enjoy the peace of the surrounding grape vines and olive trees. Lucia and Andrea were very welcoming and helpful. A delicious home made breakfast was on the table for us each morning. This location was a convenient hub for our visits to Sienna, Florence, Lucca, Volterra, and other towns in the Chianti region. There are no restaurants within walking distance, but there are many within a short drive.

A slice of Heaven!!

  • 5 of 5

A slice of heaven tucked away in the Tuscany countryside, Lucia's and Andrea's residence is Tavarnelle, roughly 17 KM from both Siena and Florence. The home is simply delightful and the 2nd floor in its entirety is all yours. Two large beautifully decorated bedrooms with queen size beds in each and a large tiled bathroom with stunning tiled stand up shower. The terrace is among and overlooks the vineyards and olive trees which are stunning especially during the Tuscany sunset.

Lucia and Andrea are most gracious hosts attending to every detail of our stay. Their passion is evident in the care they took to attend to every detail of our stay, expected and unexpected! We had rental car problems and had planned on driving to Tuscany, but life gets in the way sometimes and Andrea and Lucia graciously picked us up from the train station and offered us their personal vehicle for the duration of our stay. We are eternally grateful for their trust and generosity, we cannot thank you enough!! From dinner recommendations and reservations, to advice and recommendations on daily trips, Andrea and Lucia did it all. We ate and drank spectacularly.

We woke each morning to the smell of fresh Italian coffee and pancetta climbing the staircase. My 8 year old daughter is still talking about Lucia's pancakes and real Maple Syrup! ( my wife from Vermont this is essential). Eggs, pancakes, fresh Blackberries & Raspberries, yogurt and granola, meats and cheeses, and an assortment of teas adorned the table each morning.

The terrace is spectacular! A carafe of Rosato under the Tuscan Sunset was simply a wonderful way to ease into the evening! On our first night Andrea and Lucia prepared a wonderful meal for us on the terrace: wine, Pectorino cheese, local tomatoes that you can smell before they hit your tongue, olive oil pressed from trees you can see and touch, and subtly sweet figs. Andrea even whipped us up some fresh pasta with a light tomato, garlic and basil sauce which was heaven on our tongues.

So much to say! Don't let this place slip by your visit! Thank you both for everything. We miss you already. Give Pash and Luna a kiss from us and we do hope you visit Boston soon!

Lots of love,

Jeff, Lena, Searra, and Maya

So happy to have found this amazing B & B!

  • 5 of 5

We were welcomed with a glass of wine. Andrea and Lucia were superb hosts. Breakfast was served as an amazing buffet according to our preferences. It was plentiful and delicious! The rooms were incredibly clean. Everything about the house was pristine. The decorating was fabulous. Amenities were luxurious. The upstairs bathroom was private for our use.

There was not a detail missed. There was warmth in every personal touch around the home. The upstairs bedroom was air conditioned to our choice of temperature. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Lucia made reservations for us at a wonderful restaurant which was excellent. The restaurant personnel reserved a table with a fabulous view for us.

The B & B is the perfect location to be used as base for touring Florence and Siena. We were very lucky to have found it!!

Amazing and wonderful time!

  • 5 of 5

Firstly, let me say that not one thing could have been better for our stay with Andrea and Lucia. They're home is situated on a beautifully remote hillside that allowed us to not only enjoy the Tuscan views of the Chianti countryside, but also to wake up to a rooster crowing and the sun coming up over the hill every morning. Our hosts met us with smiles on our first night, and since we arrived too late to find somewhere for dinner, we had requested one of their homecooked dinners in advance. We flew all the way from the US with expectations of amazing Italian food, and let me say, their dinner was HANDS DOWN the best that we have had thus far! We so enjoyed the friendly and warm conversation, the full course meal (complete with a wine change for the meat course) and the wonderful dessert. Additionally, our rooms were right out of a magazine. Clean and thoughtfully arranged. They have everything you'll need- shampoo, slippers, a blowdryer, soaps, lotion, etc. The rooms are air conditioned and have WiFi. Secondly, let me say that our breakfast every morning equaled our dinner- scrambled eggs, pancetta, a selection of local meats, cheese, yogurt, local honey, berries, pancakes, fresh juice and coffee- all made around our daily schedule. They gave us helpful suggestions for restaurants and local wineries and also with the directions (a must) to navigate through Tuscany. I'm probably leaving something out, but I just can't say how much we enjoyed our stay. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Welcoming & lovely

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying with Lucia and Andrea. They were helpful from the moment we inquired. They are a lovely couple who are eager to welcome guests into their home. The accommodations were very comfortable. A unique home on a countryside hill. The rooms were very clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh jam & butter for the toast. They arranged for us to eat at a wonderful place for dinner and gave us great advice for how to spend our day. They have two dogs that were friendly. We hope to be back there again.

Our resort is particularly favored because it is situated in the middle of two major cities like Florence and Siena. The activities that can be done in this area are many. From the various sports that can be practiced in the appropriate places to hike or bike riding, visits to the museum centers, the typical villages and famous Chianti as San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Castellina in Chianti, Radda, Greve. In the town of Greve in Chianti you can visit the abbey of Badia a Passignano Set in a charming and delightful village, or the Romanesque church of San Piero in Bossolo. You can admire the unspoiled landscapes also doing a balloon flight. The country is full of restaurants and farms where you can do tastings of wine and oil and typical products, as well as buy local crafts: the most famous perhaps the ceramics of Montelupo Fiorentino, where you can also practice golf, as well as to golf club of. A few kilometers there are also various stables where you can rent horses for excursions or take riding lessons. There are also tennis courts and swimming pools. Or for those who want to go to the beach, can be reached in 45 minutes from the popular area of Versilia. The many tourists who usually frequent the area of Chianti belong to various categories of people, and some come from all over the world; remain so pleased environments and landscapes that invariably come back every year and in greater number.

The things that I think are most appreciate, in addition to the kitchen and to the climate, the hospitality, the beauty of the place, the great offer artistic and monumental heritage of the whole district and the variety of initiatives that mainly in the summer, but then ultimately the whole 'years have available. Not for nothing Tuscany, Florence and Chianti, in particular, are among the most visited places in the world. In our town, but also in neighboring countries, taking place from June onwards various pageants with parades and banquets in the streets. In short, a general festive atmosphere which infects from country to country, in Certaldo Alto, another medieval village, from which you can admire a stunning valley from the battlements of the towers held a party ancient, now called Merchandise, which attracts hundreds of artists from around the world. I truly believe that our beautiful villages able to combine the beauty, the slow rhythms, typical of the countryside, with modern technology, without losing its characteristics rather enhancing them to the maximum. The human side is always the first place and to meet the needs of visitors gives you the best, because we know that one of the fundamental resources of our country. And then we have this innate taste for the 'good' and the art that makes it so much that we keep to our homes, to our traditions and our territories, so normally you will stay in accommodation really typical and special, tastefully furnished and harmony , framed by lovely gardens and rolling hills that nature has wanted to donate.
