On Hilton Head Island, locations don’t come much better than that of Breakers 212. The 1-bedroom condo is just steps from the beach—via a private boardwalk, no less—and the Atlantic Ocean. Other visitors have to load up the car, deal with traffic, and then hunt for parking before they can feel the sand beneath their toes. But not you… at least not when you stay here!
You can see the ocean from the covered balcony of the 2nd-floor condo. (Please note that there is no elevator.) At least once during your stay you should try to get up early and bring your coffee or juice out to the balcony to watch the sunrise; it’s a sight you’ll long remember. The balcony is furnished with comfortable seating and a bistro table, so it’s also a delightful spot for enjoying a romantic nightcap under the stars. The waves lapping onto the sand make the perfect background music.
You might want to dine on the balcony as well, though Breakers 212 also has a charming indoor table for 2. The kitchen is equipped with sparkling stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops, and all the cookware and tableware you could possibly need. Of course, if you prefer to dine out, you’ll find plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The condo complex is across the street from the Coligny Plaza shopping center, home to numerous eateries serving everything from seafood to sandwiches, and even more restaurants are within a radius of several blocks.
Thanks to the sliding glass doors that connect the living area to the balcony, you can gaze out at the ocean and the palms even while relaxing on the sofa or cooking in the kitchen. The elegantly furnished living area includes a flat-screen TV with cable, and the entire unit has free WiFi, so you can keep yourself entertained as you rest up after your day on the go.
The bedroom has a queen-size bed and another flat-screen TV, as well as ample storage. The bedside sconces are an especially nice touch; one of you can read in bed while the other goes to sleep. While Breakers 212 is especially well suited for a romantic escape for 2, the living area’s sofa does convert into a 2nd queen-size bed, should you have additional guests.
As restful as Breakers 212 is, you probably won’t be spending too much time inside. After all, the beach is your backyard! This particular stretch of beach includes Coligny Beach Park, where you’ll find walking and biking paths, volleyball nets, a splash pad (if you’re vacationing with the kids, they’ll love this!), and gazebos with rockers and porch swings—perfect for watching the sunrise over the Atlantic. Of course, you can also swim, surf, fish, paddleboard, canoe, collect shells, and watch for whales amid the waves.
Should you want a change of pace from the beach, the Breakers complex has adult and children’s swimming pools, surrounded by a spacious patio with chaises and tables for relaxing after your swim. Or for something altogether different, you can bike among the island’s numerous trails or hit the links at one of the many fabled golf courses. If you prefer tennis, the 17 tennis courts of the Van Der Meer Tennis Center are less than a mile away. Just a bit farther afield, between Hilton Head Island and the mainland, is Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge, where you’ll see numerous birds, sea turtles, and even alligators. On the mainland, just a few minutes over the bridge, are 2 huge Tanger outlet malls, and the delightful city of Savannah is less than an hour’s drive away.
When you stay at Breakers 212 you can do it all—or you can do nothing at all other than savor the salt-tinged ocean breeze, the sunshine, and laid-back Low Country lifestyle. First, though, you need to reserve your stay. Do it today, and get ready to experience the joys of Hilton Head.
