About this property

Sherri’s Terlingua Cabin on the Creek: Easy Access

• Tiny House on the Bank of Terlingua Creek
• Easy Access and Convenient Location
• Living Room Kitchen, Bedroom, Bath & Loft
• Located Between the Ghost Town and BBNP

The Space:
No Children Under 12 Years Old.
Sleeping Loft ceiling very is low.

Sherri’s Terlingua Cabin is a wonderful place to relax and an excellent home base for exploring the Big Bend area. You will have quick and easy access to Big Bend National Park, the Rio Grande River, Terlingua Ghost Town, and Big Bend Ranch State Park. The cabin in within easy walking distance (1/3 mile) to the famous La Kiva Bar and Grill.

Enjoy all the conveniences of home. There is a bedroom with a full-size bed, a sleeping loft with two twin beds, a bathroom, living room, and small kitchen. The sleeping loft has a low ceiling and is best suited for teens.

The living room area has a full-size futon that can be made out as a bed. There is a small TV with a built-in DVD player. We do have a few DVDs. Feel free to bring your own but you’ll probably spend more time on the porch watching the stars and Terlingua Creek.

The kitchen has a refrigerator, oven, range, microwave, toaster, coffee maker. There are also plates, silverware, glasses for your use. Pots and pans are also provided.

The bathroom is small but has a shower, toilet and sink with hot running water.

The cabin is cooled and heated by two mini split air conditioning systems.

Sherri’s Terlingua Cabin is located on a bluff above a spring fed section of Terlingua Creek. Most of the time there is just a foot or two of water in this section of the creek. But when it rains it can become a raging torrent in the canyon below the cabin. Be careful near the edge of the cliff. The ground can shift dangerously and unexpectedly.

No pets or children under the age of 12 are allowed at the cabin.

Perfect location
Long weekend stay to visit Big Bend. House was clean and ready. We left early and returned late, did not even miss not having a television like we first thought. Nice and peaceful…would stay again

Away from it all
House was exactly as described. Bed very comfortable and place had a cozy feel to it. Good base to visit the local sights. Unfortunately for us ,the clouds came over, so didn’t get to see the stars. State and National parks both amazing. Janet replied promptly to all our questions.

Excellent Stay for Big Bend Adventure
Cabin was conveniently located in Study Butte, giving easy access to both Big Bend and Terlingua. The twin beds are located upstairs and requires watching one's head but are otherwise perfectly fine. The lack of Wifi might be disappointing to some but for others a welcome retreat from distractions. The only real complaints are ones that are beyond the control of the owner. Adjacent to the cabin along the creek is a large and unsightly pile of used tires that turns a picturesque location into a trashy one. Second, while La Kiva across the creek is an excellent (and super convenient) restaurant for meals, live music might keep you up later than you like after a long day of hiking. (But you can also sit on the porch and listen to it!)

For visiting Big Bend, there is no better place to stay. Quiet location outside of Terlingua (glad I did not stay 'in town'). Rustic, but it has everything you need. At the end of a long day of hiking, it was great to relax and be able to cook my own meal. Definitely stop in Alpine for groceries! Very clean.
