This comfy ground floor 2 br/ba condo beach retreat is located at the popular Kanai A Nalu complex in the quaint harbor village of Maalaea! Features direct beach access to the longest sugary golden beach on Maui that's suitable for all water activities and watching whales (during whale season) as well as located in the most central location to all points of interest that a traveler would want to explore.

Condo has a lush tropical garden view as well as a view of the ocean too from the lanai! Access to the beach, pool and BBQ area are conveniently just steps from your lanai.

Condo is spacious and comfortable, kitchen is more than well stocked with all the comforts of home.

Nice Condo

We booked this condo for Jan 24, 2018 through Feb 1, 2018. Our communication with first the owner, and then the property manager, was good. I had concerns when I noticed the unit was for sale but the owner got right back to me with assurances that there would be no problems, and when we got there the property manager had an info sheet in the book explaining about it being for sale and the possibility of having to show it. If they do show while occupied, they offer a bottle of wine or a gift card to the candy store. As our arrival date got close I received two phone calls from the property manager just touching base with me.

We had a late arrival but the lights had been turned on for us and like a previous review stated, flowers were all over - even in the fridge next to the bottles of water they provided. The unit was clean and the grounds well maintained. We used the BBQ a few times. It is a short walk across the lawn to get to the beach. We didn't rent our car until part way through our stay so we walked to the little village often. It was about 1/2 mile and an easy walk.

One closet had a lot of beach items for use - shovels, buckets, chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, cooler. Beach towels were also provided.

No air conditioning was not a problem for us. We used the fans, and kept bedroom windows open. It did get noisy at times when the other corner condo residents sat outside talking loudly, but other than that there was very little noise in the area.

The description of the unit states a well-stocked kitchen. That depends on what you are looking for. There is plenty of kitchenware, but there is not much condiment-type items. We've stayed in VRBOs where the cupboards/fridge have been full of seasonings and non-perishable items (left behind by past guests I'm sure), but this one had salt and pepper and some cooking oil but nothing else. We made it work - we seasoned with salt and pepper and when we bought some groceries at the little local deli we bought a handful of the single-serve ketchup and mustards. It was not a big deal, but some people may think well-stocked kitchen means that stuff will be there.

I would recommend this unit to others and I would stay again.

Well maintained and full of features

The location of the condo complex is perfect for people who do not want the hectic activity in the resort towns nearby. It is on a dead end road with almost no traffic. There is a beach in front of the complex which some of the condo complexes to the North did not have. Snorkeling, whale and turtle watching can be done from the grassy area of the complex. This condo had no surprises - lots of utensils and sharp knives, laundry and easy access to the beach, the brand new barbeques and pool. Everything was minutes away. By foot you could get to the aquarium, harbour and the bird sanctuary. By car you could get groceries and everything else Maui has to offer. When we arrived late at night, the lights were on and the rooms were filled with flowers. All information regarding internet, garbage and expectations were laid out for us. The shower in the master suite is spectacular. There is no AC in the unit but being on the ground floor, out of the morning sun, the heat was managed with the ceiling fans. When our time was up in this unit we moved to a unit on the third floor (visible in the picture of the outdoor dining set). While the unit had a great ocean view the hassle of going up the stairs and through the hallways made us realize how good we had it on the ground floor.
