Overview

About the property

Apartment, Studio + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

This is a 55 sq meter open-space in a typical Haussmannian historic building (18th century) on the first floor. Situated in the 2°Arrondissement, in the very center of the 'snail'! (central Arrondissements in Paris are represented in a snail). The apartment has been recently and finely restored but preserves the fascination of the unforgettable 'belle époque'. The floor and the ceiling are authentic and antique like several pieces of furniture. Old beams, old parquet and logical living design and amenities create charm and space that feel good and are just plain fun to live in.

This big studio is ideal for modern life style. Loft living is different: 'a loft is open space, and creative use of that space that invites people to arrange things to suit their personal lifestyle and taste'. The great part is that the owner/guest decides the use-of-space, not the builder!

The location is really interesting because you are very in a walking distance to the main attractions in Paris (one minute from Opera Theatre, five minutes from Place Vendome, eight minutes from Madeleine Square, ten minutes from Louvre Palais, twelve minutes from Montergeuil, etc). This is a lively area to stay in, with splendid buildings, Grand Boulevards and places such as the Palais Royal, Madeleine surrounded by gardens and restaurants, the 'Bourse' stock exchange, the Louvre, the Tuileries Gardens. The rue St Honoré runs through the middle of the first arrondissement with small boutiques from end to end as far as 'Chatelet Les Halles' a popular tourist attraction where you will find Montergueil market .

The Capital of fashion, food, art, music, culture, and history is waiting for you! You are only a few steps from great restaurants, theaters, cinemas, and, of course, nightlife. But, if desired, four Underground lines will take you from home to everywhere in Paris.

The house is in a quiet street that crosses two crowded 'Boulevards'. Anyway the apartment is completely sound-proofed in order to protect your sleep.

Paris markets are our favorite subjects. We regularly visit the Saint Honoré market, a “regular” market on Wednesday and Saturday, organic (and expensive!). The fish merchants there are incredible, and we adore also the poultry people. This market is near our home so we always schedule a Saturday morning appointment when we are in Paris !

Our home would be comfortable for a couple or a family. The four-poster bed and a sofa-bed can sleep up to 4.

The bathroom is new and has shower and jetted Tub (Jacuzzi).

The Kitchen is fully equipped for gourmet cook and is hided besides a corner Bar.

A kind concierge (he's like a 'maitre d'Hotel') will greet you and supervise all your needs. We are no smokers and we ask to guests not smoking at our home.

About Mauro Rossi

The owners are Italian and they like to spend weekends in their properties they have in France, Italy, and USA or exchange one of their property for staying in the most appealing locations in the world.

They have many interests: they love cooking, biking, jogging, art exhibitions, traveling and they are fond of vacation rental and home-exchange. They love to know new people and they are completely satisfied when their guests become their friends.

Mauro Rossi purchased this apartment in 2005

Why Mauro Rossi chose 2nd Bourse

The owners always had the dream to buy an apartment in Paris. The dream came true on 2005. At the beginning, they would have liked to keep the apartment only for themselves, but the maintenance costs are quite expensive in Paris! So they have decided to rent or exchange the apartment during the periods they were not there.

What makes this apartment unique

Every property is special for the owners but in this case the owners have dedicated a big effort in furnishing and decorating their apartment by themselves. Every detail was chosen with an eye to style and design. The owners are very proud of all their properties and on the basis of the several reviews they have received, it appears that the guests appreciate their efforts.

Location

Car: not necessary

The 2nd arrondissement is a neighborhood of delightful contrasts. Both gloriously grandiose and quietly quaint, at times royal and at others revolutionary, you’ll find a mélange of old-world sophistication and bustling work-a-day modernity that is irresistibly Parisian.

Unlike other centralized districts, the 2nd arrondissement boasts no major tourist attractions. But it’s exactly this void of guidebook fodder that allows a more nuanced and authentic Paris to surface, providing a veritable paradise rife with discoveries for the initiated flaneur.

The 2nd Arrondissement is a lively area to stay in, with splendid buildings and historical sites such as the Palais Royal surrounded by gardens and restaurants, the "Bourse" stock exchange, the Louvre, the Tuileries Gardens. The rue St Honore' runs through the middle of the first arrondissement with small boutiques from end to end as far as "Chatelet Les Halles" a popular tourist attraction.

Are you a lover of food? You cannot miss places like Fauchon, Andruet. Are you art home-design passionate? Lalique, Baccarat, Habitat and many shop and exhibitions are waiting for you.

Are you looking for Cinema, Theatre, International Restaurant? There are many really just a few steps from the apartment.

If you fly to Paris, this is your perfect nest.

  • 5 of 5

This lovely apartment is in a nineteenth century, Haussman Era, building, very close to the Opera Garnier. The warmth of the original wood floors and beamed ceiling are a counterpoint to the eclectic blend of modern furnishings and creature comforts. The kitchen is small but provides everything needed and the bathroom is very nice with it's whirlpool tub and waterfall shower. There are many charming little touches that make staying there feel like your cousin loaned you her Paris apartment while she was away.

The location is a tremendous advantage. Even though it was our first trip to Paris, we found it very easy to use mass transit to everywhere we wanted to go. We used the metro, buses, batobus, and RER trains with ease. The bus from CDG airport drops you off right at the Opera, less than a five minute walk from the apartment. It is also within walking distance to most of the central city and we loved that. Restaurants, grocery stores, and patisseries are all in close proximity.

Our twelve day stay was not nearly enough, so we hope to return to this comfortable nest in a beautiful, bustling city.

Absolutely wonderful experience!

  • 5 of 5

We have had an absolutely wonderful time here in Paris! Thank you so much for the use of your home. The location was perfect and your attention to our needs, wonderful! (Easy access to the metro, walking distance to main attractions, stores, shippping, etc. But out of the way enough to not feel like you're in a tourist trap. Perfect!) Thank you again!

Truly stellar apartment

  • 5 of 5

This was our 5th time visiting Paris and by far our best trip, and it began with this wonderful apartment. A lovely place to start and end our day, and the location was perfect. The owners Carmen and Mauro were very detailed and extremely helpful with all aspects involving our stay- getting there, apartment amenities, local activities, etc. We stayed for 10 days with our 2 children, and we were so sad to leave. We are already planning to return, and cannot thank them enough for opening their home to our family. An A+ experience!

Fantastic apartment, great location and value

  • 5 of 5

Great communication with the owners throughout - a beautifully kept apartment (spacious for central Paris) with all the amenities you need. After a long day travelling to Paris on my birthday we were surprised to find a delicious cake waiting for us in the fridge - a delicious treat and much appreciated! The apartment is ideally located for a variety of attractions as it is a very short walk away from various transport options. Galleries Lafayette was also a very short walk away too which went down well with the shoppers and the jacuzzi bath came in handy for me after my marathon. Highly recommended apartment.

Great space

  • 4 of 5

Location is good, a lot of great restaurants and easy access to subways. I stayed because it was close to my work, but my wife and daughter found it a great spot to walk and sightsee many attractions within Paris. The space is efficient, clean and has everything you might need. A couple of updates the bus is 11euro from CDG to Opera. LeCab has great rates, Uber will have trouble finding the address. There is a lot of Asian resaurants in the area, but you can find some French as well as Italian. Back to the place: two good beds, heat is good, didn't need any AC. Like I stated earlier bring you clothes, do some shopping at a local grocery store and enjoy your stay.
