About this property

The layout of this cottage includes a living room, full kitchen, full bathroom, two beds, and a fireplace. To maximize the space, the beds are pull-out style. The queen size murphy bed comfortably fits 2 and when closed, it has a shelf that doubles as a dining table. The sofa can be pulled out for additional sleeping space that also fits 2. Wifi, heating, and AC are all included, as well as cable TV. Animals welcome in their kennel.

Right outside your door is an enclosed private porch and a spacious garden. The view from your backyard is of Quartzite Mountain. Our property is a 2-acre corner lot close to a big park with a creek and playground. In spring and summer, the park is the gathering space for our local farmer's market. Within walking distance is historic downtown Chewelah, known for our yearly Chataqua festival. You can also find restaurants, shops, and entertainment all within walking distance to our cottage.

We are 10 miles from the 49° North Mountain Resort, 4 miles from the Chewelah Golf and Country Club, and 10 miles to Waitts Lake.

Charming Cottage was exactly that!

We went for three days of skiing at 49 degrees, along with our two large dogs. There is a great park directly out the gate that was awesome to walk them through. The cottage itself is fully stocked and we had brought some breakfast and dinner items, but decided next time we would only bring breakfast and snacks and go out for dinner. We did go to the Quartitz (sp?) Brewery and ate great hot sandwiches from the truck that was there, and a pizza place on the main street on another night. Cooking in was a little crowded. Both were good. The brewery allowed our dogs in! It is about a 10 minute walk to downtown. We will definitely stay again!

Perfect retreat in beautiful setting

Our family enjoyed this safe, private cottage and we were very pleased with how friendly and attentive the hostess was throughout our stay. This property provided a safe, private conveniently located retreat. We enjoyed the park right across the street and loved visiting the playground and creek with our family. Thank you!

Nice, cozy stay

Dog friendly

We my daughter and I both loved it and had all the amenities we needed and it was nice that we could leave our dogs in kennels and do what we need to do with our family and see if we live on the coast and we don’t get there very often, so it was nice that we had a stress free for days I truly recommend it if you have pets

Why they chose this property

I love the house's Victorian style. The large 2-acre lot allows me to grow lots of trees, vegetables, and flowers. The front yard has beautiful birches.

What makes this property unique

One of my favorite characteristics of the property is the tipi that came with it. It used to belong to a shaman. It's very beautifully painted and has a palpable sacred energy. The tipi is blessed and has been used for gatherings and ceremonies.
