Awarded 5 Star Quality Rating from Visit Scotland (National Tourist Board), this elegant 18th Century Category A-listed Georgian townhouse is the perfect venue as your holiday home from home.

Fully renovated in 2013, the house offers a relaxed luxury self catering vacation experience in surroundings where the original period features are complimented by a gentle palette of colours.

A complementary welcome hamper is provided for your arrival to ensure your holiday starts the moment you arrive.

With private and secure main door access, set over three floors, the house comprises two master suites, one double bedroom and one single bedroom. There are multiple ensuite and shared bathroom facilities.

The large dining kitchen is fully equipped with integrated appliances and a coffee machine. Sitting eight guests (with additional high chair for the younger members), plus a breakfast bar for informal dining, the room effortlessly combines a contemporary high specification kitchen with beautifully restored period features; ideal as the perfect setting for relaxed social dining and lasting holiday memories.

Two reception rooms offer generous living accommodation with gas fires and feature stoves, tv's, books, board games and a Wii games consoles to keep everyone entertained.

The two master bedrooms located on the top floor each contain super king size beds (one of which can be as a twin arrangement), flat screen tv's, dedicated dressing areas and ensuite bathrooms with showering facilities, limestone floors and underfloor heating.

The large and beautifully furnished double kingsize bedroom is located on the ground floor entrance level. The single bedroom is located on first floor and can be arranged specially for an adult or child guest on request. A beautiful shower room is located on the ground floor and dedicated study space is provided off the first floor landing.

The family sitting room can be arranged as a single bedroom to provide accommodation for an extra guest, although notification for this is required prior to booking and may incur an additional cost.

For those that like a little pampering or to get away from it all, the bedrooms are dressed with black out blinds or curtains, Egytian cotton linens and towels along with spare blankets or throws should you require them and luxury Scottish toiletries and hairdryers are provided.

Not to leave the little one's out, a cot and baby bouncer chair are also provided free of charge for any younger guests. A child stair gate is fixed to the wall and can be used if required.

Features include the latest in-room technology as standard throughout the house with wi-fi broadband internet, blue tooth i-pod docks, multiple digital tv's.

A dedicated laundry cupboard can is located within the shower room which includes washing machine, tumble dryer and clothes airer.

There is on street car parking (pay and display) located outside the property. The airport bus stop is only a few minutes away on foot, as are the nearest taxi ranks.

We have a varied experience in both residential and commercial sectors with projects ranging from small house extensions and large new build bespoke houses to healthcare facilities, offices, agricultural buildings and hotels.

Having both business and family links with Edinburgh, we embarked on a personal venture to have a property in the city that allowed us to be both client and architect.

The Georgian architecture of Edinburgh's New Town is beautiful and we just fell in love with it!

What makes this house unique

Forming part of a Category A listed terrace, the building had been converted into offices which were then lying vacant. Having been altered many times over the years, we set about lovingly restoring the building to its former glory as a single townhouse. The process has been both exciting and at times daunting; from uncovering the original period features and intrinsic charm of the property to managing the renovation building works on site, leaving us with a house of which we are immensely proud.

A delightful, centrally-located respite in Edinburgh

We were delighted with our stay at Mitchell's in Edinburgh. Thanks to Christine, we were provided with all the amenities we needed (including top sheets for those warm nights) and advice/information about local places to visit for groceries, other shopping, restaurants and sights. Thank you for making this our home away from home in Edinburgh. We would certainly recommend it to friends and relatives when they come to Edinburgh. The location is perfect as it is centrally located on a quiet back street--within striking distance of the Royal Mile, Waverley Railway station, Scott Monument and Calton Hill. The washer/dryer were handy and the well-appointed kitchen (with dishwasher) made breakfast a breeze. The hamper of goodies was nice. I would suggest inquiring of guests about sensitivities/preferences, since allergies and diet may preclude consumption of certain items (ie: gluten, vegan/vegetarian, etc.). Beds were comfortable and there was ample space for the five of us. I would advise ear plugs for the early morning seagull noise. Also, be prepared for the stairways, since this is a townhouse. All-in-all, we had a very nice time here.

Great property in a great location

This was exactly what we wanted. A very nice four bedroom town house in a great location in Edinburgh. My friends and I were doing a golf vacation and this was perfect and we could not ask for a better location. I would actually give it a 4.5 if that was possible because the WiFi was a bit spotty but really splitting hairs. . Nice kitchen/dining area and living room to relax. Conveniently located to the Oxford and Cambridge Bars and very short walking distance to lots of other restaurants/bars/nightlife without being right in the middle of it. .I would highly recommend it!

AMAZING!!!

This property is beautiful and in such a terrific location!! We were a group of 7 adults and this property was so comfortable for us. Simon was amazing. He greeted us at the home and reviewed the ins and outs of the property. Couldn't have asked for a better trip to Edinburgh!! I highly recommend this property!!!

Simply the best!!

What can I say?.....the Mitchell's house was awesome as was the whole rental experience. From the time we booked the house we felt "special". We had a few questions and special requests and the responses from the Mitchell's and Christine were prompt and they could not have been more accommodating....the location in New Town was perfect for us as we enjoyed the nearby restaurants, shops etc AND the quiet street the house was located on. The house was very spacious with 2 large rooms to gather so although we spent much of our time sightseeing etc it was great to "come home" and just relax. The snacks, wine etc provided were top quality (an unexpected surprise) and Christine couldn't have be more helpful. She "stocked the refrigerator" for us as requested and was there to meet us and explain everything. She gave us her phone number and I know she was sincere when she said "call anytime"....but everything was so perfect we didn't have to make a call....I can see where this would be a perfect property for a family and I am sure we will be back....Howard (Atlanta Georgia, USA)
