Overview

Photos and Description of this holiday cottage in Brimscombe - Ambrose Cottage

Lovely hillside views, at this stylish 2 bedroom cottage Cottage-

Beautiful views from Ambrose cottage, which is over 3 floors.Characterful double bedroom and twin bedded room on the top floor with far reaching views, beautiful by day and magical by night with sparkling lights fading into the distance. The bathroom is on the middle floor with the lounge , and a glass door opening onto a decking balcony , with amazing views along the Golden valley.

The ground floor has a lovely dining room and fully equipped kitchen , including dishwasher , washing machine as well as the usual full size appliances. There are 'sideways views downstairs as our other cottage blocks a view. Several walls are exposed Cotswolds stone and work well with the contemporary glass balcony around the staircase and oak.

There is full central heating, sadly the fireplace cannot be used but is filled with fairy lights for a warm atmospheric glow.

Outside is a small patio area with table and chairs for four and a BBQ. The mid floor balcony seats 4 guests and has steps from down to the patio garden too.

There is off road parking to the side of the neighbouring house.

From the cottage there are so many walks of amazing scenery and there is a very good choice of excellent eating out within 2 miles and of course the award winning Farmers Market every Saturday

PLease be aware we offer short breaks all year and our arrival/ departure days are FRIDAYS and MONDAYS.

WEEKEND BREAKS- are from 3.30pm Friday to 10 am Monday

MIDWEEK BREAKS- are from 3.30 pm MOnday to 10am Friday

WEEK stays can be from 3.30pm FRIDAY or 3pm MONDAY

About Tricia Prince

(The photo is from our home opposite with our dog looking at the view).

I love managing our 2 adjacent holiday cottage but recently became started a new busniess renting vintage props for weddings etc which could classify me as a horder. If you wanted a Downton Abbey dinner party, I could supply the props. Guests have wed while staying here andI love to help for any specail occasion..... I have been a designer of home products for major retailers after studying textile design at uni. Moved next to the holiday cottage 10 years ago and wished I had moved here years ago. I love helping people to discover the area and therefore to get the most out of their stay. My family are sociable but discreet , if you need us -we are here. We have made friends with guests who have ,subsequently moved here from as far away as Perth,Australia.

I also have a business Cotswolds Vintage Party Hire supplying vintage props for weddings and special events throughout central /southern uk

Tricia Prince purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Tricia Prince chose Stroud district

We live opposite this property and the popularity of our first cottage prompted the purchase of our lovely Ambrose Cottage and the challenge of the renovation. It is in an amazing area for walking and with a great choice of excellent eating out within 2 miles. The area is enlighting to most people who stay here ... with cows and horses + Alfi the donkey roaming freely over the common just above us from May to October , the award winning farmers market every Saturday, the arty festivals, local breweries ( 'sampling' just a walk away every friday night).

Loads of my local info in the cottage too....great eye opener for the entrepreneur too!

What makes this cottage unique

The VIEWS around here are stunning, The cottage is well equipped and there is genuinely so much to do locally.. please feel free to ask with your preferred requirements-we are happy to give advice and ideas for all ages...Perfect for walkers and has a excellent choice of great eating out within 2 miles.

Great Cottage

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week in Ambrose Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is central for exploring the Cotswolds and amenities are not far away. The cottage was clean and well equipped and the owner was a pleasure to deal with during the booking process and had lots of local knowledge which she happily shared. Highly recommended.

Cozy little cottage with all that you need

  • 5 of 5

Just enjoyed a mid week stay at Ambrose, a really cozy little cottage. Equipped with everything you need. Tricia was very helpful and was there to greet us on arrival and talked us through everything, as well as ideas on places to visit. I would recommend this to anyone, the scenery is breathtaking and there is so much to see.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely review of Ambrose cottage.I know many owners ask for reviews, so this is even more special ! I am currently undertaking the annual redecoration and looking at changing some colour schemes, still white bedding and crockery though!...it is a dilemma, as I want a new twist but everyone says they love its mix of old stone, new, & slightly quirky, just as it is! I am so glad you loved the area too, with those incredible views- I think will you agree, there is genuinely so much to do and see....I hope my book of ideas & comments about our lovely local pubs, breweries, places to visit etc etc were useful to you ... can you tell I love taking photos too ! Thank you again for taking the time to write your review , we would love to welcome you back to Ambrose or Hillcrest cottage.

Notes:
We moved to the area 12 years ago and were amazed at how open to innovation and new ideas this part of the cotswolds is ... Known as the 'undiscovered cotswolds' , it has so many artistist, writers ,actors, green entrepreneurs and amazing sustainable businesses , all supported by the local community. Many of our holiday guests return again and again , some have moved here and some have left here saying it has been life changing! We endeavour to make your stay at either of our cottages special... so please ask in advance if you have any special requirements!
