STUNNING VIEWS from luxury & Romantic Cotswolds Cottage

" Views to die for...." said a recent guest review and the truly STUNNING VIEWS from Hillcrest cottage,.

make it "one of those places which stay in your memories for ever" (from another guest). The views are very impressive from all rooms, but are especially PANORAMIC from the bedroom balcony.

The cottage is well equipped and stylishly decorated in a contemporary rustic style. As well as full central heating, it has a cosy log burner in the lounge for winter evenings or several sets of double doors opening onto the balcony and garden for balmy summer days too. Watching the sunset on the balcony with a glass of wine is quite special.

If a picture says a thousand words, these pictures of Hillcrest cottage and the incredible view should help to show why this cottage will make your stay quite unique experience.

MAIN BEDROOM

A spacious , light and airy main bedroom includes a comfortable kingsize bed with choice of hard and softer pillows and a large white corner sofa for relaxing at the end of the day. Stepping out onto the main bedroom balcony is quite special, enjoying views of the garden and beyond along the Golden Valley.

THE TWIN BEDDED ROOM also has pocket sprung matresses and we dress it with a few accessories when little people stay, (happy children have happy parents)!

THE BATHROOM is white, simply furnished and has a shower over the bath with curved glass screen.

THE LOUNGE

Downstairs there is plenty of current holiday reading and best sellers should you want to relax with the log burner in the cosy lounge, (we supply the firt basket of kindling and brickets from end September to beginning of May).

KITCHEN /DINING (entrance door)

The cottage feels spacious with the open plan kitchen-dining area . It has all the essentials including a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, iron, cafetiere , hand held whisk, creamer , white crockery and large wine glasses etc!

In the summer it is lovely to be able to open the double doors from the lounge and kitchen dining room onto a patio area and garden or drop down to the circular BBQ patio....all with stunning views.

If there specific items you require as a keen cook, please ask at booking and if we dont have already we will always do our best to supply those items before your stay.

For a special vintage style afternoon tea , do ask and we can arrange beautiful vintage china to set the scene too.

ENTERTAINMENT

We hope you are here to experience the area, so the cottage doesnt have massive tvs but it has a tv dvd with freeview, plenty of recent paperbacks , i pod docking station.

GARDEN/BBQ TERRACE

The garden is well maintained and has those same STUNNING VIEWS. Down a few steps and you are on the sheltered circular BBQ terrace with quality garden furniture and weber BBQ( takes charcoal)....It is a great place to eat as the sun goes down and and the valley lights up against the night sky.

We hope you will make use of the traditional picnic wares available for days out from the cottage

PARKING

There is driveway parking outside our cottage next door for one car .We do advise guests seeing each other out of the property as the Cotswolds stone walls can block views, especially on lower chassis cars. Further cars can park in the lane opposite or the nearby layby.

NEXT DOOR

We, the owners live next door, & have 2 dogs Chester, who attends agility training so has several tricks to show you & the most gentle Tula rescued from Cyprus too. We ask prospective guests to let s know before booking if they have any concerns. No pets are permitted in the cottage!

THE GARDEN & BBQ

The garden is well maintained all year and has herbs in the borders for culinary flavourings. Down a few steps is the circular BBQ area with a large round table and chairs to enjoy those wrap around views.

Most guests say "WOW" on arrival and how much they will miss them on departure.

We do whatever we can to ensure guiests enjoy their stay. Our aim is to create the experience we would like when we go away!

About Tricia Prince

I moved to this part of the Cotswolds in 2004, having absolutely fallen in love with the area , the countryside and finding there was so much to do and see.

I have been a Home product designer for many years and so thoroughly enjoyed getting the cottage ready for holiday rental.

I love painting, photography and many of my pieces are in the cottage. I love gardening but my most recent passion is collecting from auctions ,carboots, and charity shops for my wedding prop hire business...which is ever growing !

Eating out is another sociable passtime I enjoy and there is a list with my comments of some of the local eatieries balancing price and quality!

Tricia Prince purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Tricia Prince chose Brimscombe

With its lovely warm Cotswolds stone and wooden beams, but we fell in love with the cottage instantly and still do not believe how lucky we are to enjoy those simply STUNNING VIEWS.

I hope the pictures tell the story. We said WOW to the views 14 years ago and we still say WOW today!

What makes this cottage unique

The scale of the STUNNING VIEWS from the cottage will really surprise you and will make his cottage quite unique. My past guests say my photos still dont do the views justice.

Watch the amazing sunsets from the bedroom balcony & when the light goes, the valley lighting up is simply magical.

WE have had several marriage proposals on the balcony, all saying yes.! and it has been the base for several brides and there families getting married in the Cotswolds...

Opening all the 3 sets of patio doors in summer mallows you to live in the view too.

I am happy to answer any queries re the cottage and the area......

We are your friendly welcoming hosts & live next door, so are on hand should you need anything but are dicreetly absent too... ,

We will welcome you in to a lit and warm cottage, with your keys for your stay... No impersonal key safes to deal with. If you want supper out on your first evening, we are happy to recommend and make your reservation for you.

If you have any special requirements we are happy to help wherever we can.

Guestbook comments from the manager

"Stunning views, beautiful comfortable cosy cottage, and the host provides a wealth of information to make the most of your stay."

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in the Cotswolds and coming 'home' to the cottage every evening. The cottage is located well with panoramic views over the valley towards Stroud.

The cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for a stay home from home and the log burner make for a cosy warm cottage.

Our two and half year old especially enjoyed the box of soft toys in the lounge and the cuddly doggies in his bedroom! "

Highly recommend Hillcrest.

Owner's Response: So glad your enjoyed the cottage, your stay and the views.I hope the evening at Stroud Brewery went down well ....it is so quirky and great with live music most Saturdays and easy to walk to. This weekend is Stroud fringe music festival with stages throughout town and such a great atmosphere.. with a few well known musicians living locally we are always wondering if they will take to the stage too! I think you must have covered quite a few walks of our lovely walks from the cottage too.

Lovely views, friendly owners, tastefully decorated.

Great place to stay to visit the South Cotswolds. Very clean house with all the equipement and facilities you could possibly need. Pretty garden with lovely west facing panoramic views. We stayed during one of the hotest weeks of the year which made it perfect.

Mitchinhampton is a very pretty village, the Bear at Rodborough and the Bell at Sapperton (good, varied well priced food at both) and the Westonbirt Arboretum are all close and very worth a visit.

Parking was a bit tricky and traffic at night a bit noisy being so close to the road.

Owner's Response: Thank you for reviewing your stay at Hillcrest and really pleased you tried some of our local hostelries and enjoyed them too. Over night is usually quiet here, except that the road works in the valley had lead to our road being used at a cut through to avoid the long delays at the temporary traffic lights. I am pleased to say the road works are now completed. Tricia

Gorgeous apartment in a gorgeous countryside

  • 5 of 5

Hillcrest Cottage is a beautiful place. The bedroom terrace and living room look out over a lovely garden and onto a stunning view of a tranquil and expansive Cotswold valley. The rooms are very comfortable with a large well stocked kitchen.Tricia welcomed us with fresh eggs, milk. juice, fresh bread, youghart, jam and butter ready for our first morning's breakfast. The cottage is accessed from a fairly steep road and entry into and exit from the driveway can be tricky requiring a second person to help direct. There are several nice walks directly from the cottage which are well described in Tricia's notebook. Also beautiful towns and the fabulous Hidcote Gardens are within an hours drive. Tricia was a warm and friendly hostess with 3 lively but friendly and well-behaved rescue dogs. All in all, My wife and I had a wonderful 3 days in the Cotswold.

Owner's Response: It is difficult to convey, in words or even my photos, how expansive and beautiful the views actually are. They really do make the cottage stand out, & especially when relaxing on the bedroom sofa, looking beyond the balcony to that panoramic view. I often wonder if the downstairs sitting room is even needed! Everything else about the cottage is inspired by me wanting it to be the cottage where we would choose to stay..... We have enjoyed having you as neighbours in this beautiful part of the Cotswolds. Thank you for taking the time to review Hillcrest cottage.. Tricia

Wonderful family getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our 2 young daughters stayed 3 nights over a long weekend in May. The views down the valley are so beautiful and the outside bbq area is great. The kitchen, lounge and bedrooms are all a good size, really nothing to fault! Tricia and Rob are extremely helpful and friendly, all in all I highly recommend a stay!

Owner's Response: Really pleased you and your young family enjoyed your stay at Hillcrest cottage. We feel priviledged to have such incredible views and it so lovely to be able to share them via our holiday cottage. We are planning to make a few changes to the terracing around the BBQ area which will make it even nicer to sit out and enjoy the seasonal sunsets... Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Best wishes Tricia

Owner's Response: REALLY glad you enjoyed your stay at Hillcrest Cottage. If it is to be your last trip to the UK, I hope we have helped to make it truly memorable for you both. It was lovely having you as neighbours! When parking in the drive, I do advise guests to see each other out as the Cotswolds stone wall does obscure the view of the lane ...unfortunately limited flat space when living on a hillside is the price we pay to have those amazing wrap around views and along Valley. I wish you both good health .. kind regards Tricia

Amazing views, really lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

Yes, the panoramic views from the garden and patio are truly amazing. The cottage is really lovely - a lot of thought has gone into the decor (including some of the owner Tricia's photos and artwork). The upstairs master bedroom is one of the most romantic room I have ever seen - the colour scheme almost exactly like mine at home :) Super clean, well-equipped place and we really appreciate that the owner provided some breakfast items which saved us having to run out shopping after a long drive to get there. Tricia also gives great tips on where to go locally - we basically just went to places she recommended and had a great three days break in the area!

Owner's Response: Really pleased you loved the cottage, the decor, and of course the view . It is really hard for me to describe or show the enormity of that view! I am often told my pics just dont do it justice! Of course we would love to welcome you back and maybe the boys could learn to waterski in the safety of the Cotswolds Water Park on another visit? kind regards Tricia
