Camp Maine Family Vacation
Camp Maine was the perfect cabin for our family vacation. We all enjoyed the lake, swimming, fishing, kayaking and watching the loons, ducks and eagle. Not too far from Bar Harbor or the Schoodic Peninsula but far enough to enjoy the quiet of the cabin. We will definitely keep this in mind for a future vacation to Maine.
Perfect Traditional Maine Experience
I would definitely recommend this property if you are looking for the traditional Maine summer on the lake experience. The cabin is clean and well appointed. Awesome fireplace in the living room and great fire pit for smores and/or adult beverages while relaxing. With three bedrooms there is plenty of space for kids, or couples traveling as group, and you do not feel you are on top of one another. Jenna, the property manager, is awesome and quick to respond to any needs or questions. If there was one draw back, the carpet in the living room has seen better days. The lake is quiet and neighbors are NOT right on top of one another. I felt I had complete privacy. I will definitely be back.
Great pastoral spot with a charming, spacious cabin, serene, inviting lake.
Great cabin with plenty of room, and gorgeous views of the lake, loons and moonlight. Away from the crowds but close enough to Bar Harbor for day trips and exploring Acadia. We loved the hiking, and quiet moments on the rocky shores, especially the less traveled Schodic Peninsula. Plenty of spots for lobster dinners and small batch ice cream! But - our favorite times were the peaceful mornings watching the ducks and birds on the lake and evening star gazing after s’mores around the fire pit.
Thank you so much for choosing Camp Maine for your vacation destination! It sounds like you found some great little hidden gems to enjoy... but especially glad to hear you enjoyed the quiet beauty right on the front deck of the cabin!
We hope you come stay with us again!
A wonderful family vacation in a charming 100 year old log cabin lakeside, with every comfort.
With a canoe, kayaks, a wonderful quiet 'pond' to swim in, giant fish to catch, cool evening breezes, friendly ducks, eagles and a charming and spacious cabin, our family of six had an absolutely wonderful vacation. This cabin was decorated with taste and care, to provide for every comfort in keeping with the rustic sense of place. It comfortably fits six grown ups (our family), or eight if you have smaller children who can share the double beds.
Camp Maine is about 40 minutes from Acadia destinations, and 20 minutes from groceries. We planned our time with an all day outing every other day, so we could spend in-between days at the cabin - but could have easily spent more time there. An ample supply of firewood made it easy to have cosy fires inside, or marshmallow roasting outside.
The cabin is supplied with a great collection of board games, basic food items, first aid items and shampoos, soap, paper towels, beach towels - things you might forget! but the cabin's most wonderful surprise is Jenna, the absolutely lovely property manager, who can answer any question, and give you great ideas about where to go, where to get the best lobster, or where to eat out. The cabin also comes with a helpful binder of useful information, and a small desk is stocked with information about Acadia, the Schoodic Peninsula, and all things local.
We hope you enjoy your time at Camp Maine as much as we did. We intend to return!
It was an absolute pleasure to have you and your family stay at the cabin! It pleases us that you had such a wonderful trip, and thrilled to hear we can expect you to come stay again!!
