Why Ren Anderson chose Townsend
After hundreds of visits to the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge, I wanted to rebuild a fire-destroyed house that had become an eyesore, directly at the exit of the NWR. Every trip out, I'd see the ruins and wish there was something better there. After speaking with many visitors to the NWR, and neighboring area, I felt a small overnight-to -weekly rental would work, and be a better asset to the community than the sad ruins. With the benefit of bordering the NWR front AND back !!, the site is perfect for a traveler who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle, if only for a night. For the wildlife lover or photographer, it is a perfect retreat, to cool down in the middle of a hot day, and rest up for the next photo or viewing session. For a weekend fisherman it is perfect to access the ramp and coastal waters.

The listing did not state there were no pairing knives, food grater, no mixing bowls, sauce pans, frying pans, serving bowls, collander, and the biggest neglect NO STOVE. And no bbq grill. I bought one while 5here si I make something to et. Much like a 3 star hotel room I nm is not set up for more than a one night stay.. Was not very clean, and the sheets and towels looked 30 years old.
Clear communications; clean; well equipped & maintained ; perfect location for my need.

Clean place, comfy beds, no stove
We enjoyed our stay here. The location is nice and pretty new. The location is wonderful for accessing Harris Neck WMA and the nearby boat ramp (avoid launching or retrieving your boat at low tide). The host was helpful and kind. Plenty of space for parking on the property.
A few negatives: no stove makes cooking difficult unless you come prepared. The wall seperating the two suites is a little thin with regards to sound attenuation.
Gnats outside are fierce if there is no wind.
Beautiful location! Everything as promised.
Loved staying here for a week. The place is very clean and we had everything we needed for our stay.
For avid bird watchers like ourselves we could not have picked a better location. Not only were we within the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge, but we visited several other refuges and beaches within an hours drive.
We will recommend this place to friends and will most likely be returning again ourselves.
Ren was available anytime by phone to answer any questions.
Great time, and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors.
Another great stay at the Harris Neck cabin.
Enjoyed our stay at the cabin !
Very peaceful and beautiful!
Really enjoyed the peace and quiet! Thanks Ren for such wonderful accommodations!
The NWR is a great bike ride....all level ground. :) There are no motels on this exit, and hey, ya gotta stay somewhere. Take at least a hour out of your day to ride through the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge. If you are a wildlife lover or photographer, take a day or two. If you like saltwater fishing, or just want a cruise to the most amazing wild beaches on earth, the ramp is only a minute away, and plenty of parking for your boat. The tidal marshes of the Georgia coast are a marvel on this great Earth. This cabin sits across from the exit of the NWR, with a screened in back porch that abuts even more of the NWR. Deer, turkeys, and lots more of God's creatures to view from the dining table. WiFi and TV. Large bedroom with Queen size bed, plus great room with a fold out couch, kitchen with full size fridge, microwave, toaster oven, sink, dishwasher, china and flatware. Fresh linens furnished. Five minutes from Belvedere Island Plantation or Delta Plantation. One minute from Barbour River Yacht Club.
