There is tough competition to be the most charming town in Provence, yet Callian has great claims to take the prize, given that it is perched beautifully on the top of the hill, with a castle at the top. The castle, named Chateau de Camiole provides historical interest in the town and offers superb views from the top, of the surrounding countryside. It is easy to fall in love with Callian, getting lost in its narrow, winding streets whilst discovering its many traditional shops which sell local produce, such as cheese and Rosé wine. As far as finding a location for your villa in the South of France goes, Callian provides the perfect base to discover an interesting and diverse region.
With so much to see from your villa, Callian has so much to offer to guests. Not far from the town itself, sits Grasse, the town famous for its perfume factories and museums, which provides an interesting day trip for those staying in Provence holiday villas in the local area. The town itself tends to be much more relaxing than areas closer to the coast, yet if you would like to see the wonderful Mediterranean coastline, this is easily attainable from a villa rental in Callian and is around a forty minute drive away. For those lucky enough to be in Callian around the 14th July, there are plenty of cultural events and fireworks nearby to celebrate Bastille Day.
