Lynne was born in the Highlands of Scotland and Franco further South …in Florence, Tuscany. Both Lynne and Franco have been involved in running hotels for many years, in most roles. Both are very happy to have gone back to the roots and take enormous pleasure in the personal and attentive hospitality and standards that can only be achieved within smaller owner managed properties

As you walk or drive down Holyrood Park Road you will see emerging the end of the building ~ just ahead of a red pillared Victorian Post Box you enter The Maltings estate, built around and preserving, the massive old Whisky Bond of J & G Stewart Limited which was owned by Andrew Usher (…reputed with introducing the first whisky blending!). At the centre of the building overlooking the Park you can still see the regally pedimented centrepiece inscribed AU (for Andrew Usher) 1902.

The apartments were built around the site in 1988 perfectly blending an impressive early 20th Century building with contemporary architecture ~ and now set in immaculate landscaped grounds.

Holyrood Park Apartment was mainly built within the original structure ~ it sits right at the top of the South end of the building. In order to enter the hall of the building you walk over a little bridge across the converted (…now a marvellous cycle path) old Innocent Railway line built in 1832 and connecting Dalkeith to Edinburgh.

There is free resident parking.

The Apartment offers two bedroom: one with a king size double bed the other set up either with twin beds or with a Superkingsize double bed ~ this latter bedroom has its own suite large shower room. There is also a second bathroom with bath tub and shower close to the first bedroom. The kitchen of course has all that you might require, during your stay. The large lounge ~ offers leather sofa for relaxation, excellent dining facilities and a study area. The French windows on one side of the lounge open up to the Terrace fitted out with al fresco furniture and from that vantage point you can absorb the beauty and splendour of Holryood Park!

The Apartment which is of course generously equipped with all that you need for an enjoyable stay, also has a small library of interesting books about Edinburgh and Scotland and a good DVD collection .There is also complimentary Wi-Fi connection. Ample televisions with free-view digital channels and all provide a DVD player. In the lounge you will find a Bose music wave system. All of this will ensure that you have the choice to relax or be entertained ~ or both.

For more invigorating activities you have three wonderful choices : we can organize mountain bikes (there is a charge for this) for you to slip into the Innocent Cycle Path right below the building and cycle away past through the Park heading for Duddingston ~ jog or brisk walking or gentle climbing through one of the many routes of Holyrood Park (..including reaching the summit of Arthur’s Seat!!) ~ or simply cross the road enter the Royal Commonwealth Pool where with a day membership you can use its Olympic size pool and the superb Gym.

Well appointed Holyrood apartment and very conveniently located

Benjamin and I thoroughly enjoyed our 1 week stay . We were comfortable and Franco and Lynne are thoughtful folks given the amenities in the apartment.

On our next trip to Edinburgh we will like to stay there again.

Beautifully decorated - the apartment was also really spacious, comfortable and well appointed.

Our New Year break was perfect. We stayed in the apartment with our friends, with our children and their partners staying nearby. There was easy access for morning walks / runs into Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags, which were also a perfect vantage point to view the Hogmany Fireworks, only minutes from our door.

The apartment easily accommodated our whole group for shared meals, with enough spare crockery and cutlery for the extra visitors - which was great and isn't always the case where accommodation has only just enough of everything.

Lynne and Franco were very helpful, even providing a travel cot so that I could baby sit my grand-daughter when mummy and daddy had a night out.

It would be lovely to revisit one day and I would certainly recommend the apartment as a brilliant base from which to explore Edinburgh.

Excellent!

We' ve spent 4 days in the apartment of Frank and Lynn and enjoyed everything: the clear instructions as to how to get the keys and find the apartment, which is very cosy, clean and welcoming like in the photos, its situation, the views, everything was wonderful. We absolutely fell in love with Edimbourg!

Beautiful Apartment - Wonderful Location

Lynne & Franco - We so enjoyed our time in your lovely apartment in Edinburgh. I loved waking each morning to the beautiful sunrises over Arthur's Seat outside my bedroom window. Everything about the apartment was first-class and it was great to have immediate access to Holyrood Park, an easy walk to the Royal Mile and some good restaurants close by the apartment.

We also appreciated your quick assistance when we needed to make a few calls to your mobile phones - especially early Tuesday morning (sorry if I woke you, Lynne).

Thanks so much for everything. Without hesitation, I would recommend this lovely apartment to anyone wanting to make their stay in Edinburgh extra special.

Overlooking Holyrood Park and very close to the University of Edinburgh’s Campus.

The Apartment sits right on the edge of the entrance to Holyrood Park offering magnificent views across the Park to Arthur’s Seat, Salisbury Crags and the skyline of the City of Edinburgh. The University of Edinburgh's Pollock Halls of Residence Complex is a just a couple of minutes away.

From the Apartment you will be in the Park in a few seconds and walking downhill or following the Salisbury Crags panoramic path on the edge of the volcano (..extinct!!) crater, you can be at the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the new Scottish Parliament in a few minutes and from there you can walk up the Royal Mile to the Castle, the ancient Edinburgh Closes, Princes Street and the New Town.

The Royal Commonwealth Olympic Size Pool and Leisure Centre is only a few minutes walk away.
