This welcoming detached cottage is situated on the outskirts of the beautiful seaside village of Ballinskelligs in County Kerry on the 'Wild Atlantic Way' touring route. The home is available for holiday rental and extended periods also. The area has also recently been awarded the 'Gold Tier International Dark Sky Award' so it is the perfect location for gazing at those stars! If you are a fan of ‘Star Wars’ you can visit the UNESCO site of The Skelligs Rocks also the Irish location featured in Star Wars The Force Awakens!

'Cois Farraige' offers a solid wood kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with a traditional open fire and electric fire. Ideal for you and the rest of your party to relax over a glass of wine whilst the cosy open fire warms you up after a busy day exploring this wonderful area. 'Cois Farraige' also has five bedrooms consisting of two ground floor bedrooms with separate wc, three first floor bedrooms, as well as two main bathrooms. Outside, this Ballinskelligs cottage has off road parking for six cars and a fully enclosed front garden, where you can dine alfresco or BBQ as the children play, whilst you plan tomorrow’s adventure in this wonderful part of Ireland or just gaze at the stars! A shop and bar & restaurant (with live traditional music); Post Office and beach side café are all within easy walking distance plus there are many activities in the area including horse-riding, hiking, cycling, surfing, swimming, water sports, boat trips, scenic drives, or you may wish to spend the day relaxing on the sandy blue flag beach. There are a number of attractions in the area such as The Skellig Rocks (where Star Wars was filmed!), The Cill Rialaig Arts Centre, The Skellig Chocolate Factory (a must see!), Portmagee, Valantia Island, the Dingle Peninsula and the stunning Ring of Kerry. This delightful Ballinskelligs cottage is an ideal base for families and a group of friends who wish to visit and explore County Kerry and beyond!

A wonderfully welcoming home with all we needed and more. Enjoyed our daily dander down the beautiful 'loanen' (Northern Irish for 'wee road' : ) ) to the fantastic beach. Beach cafe superb-very friendly folks especially Barbara. Our teenagers had a great time kayaking in the bay. Interesting places to visit with breathtaking scenery around every corner! Thanks you Mary & Helen for everything! Homesick already for Kerry & especially Ballinskelligs!

Very comfortable spatious house in an out-of-the way village on a quiet beach.

This was a great house in a quiet setting with good views. The house had everything we needed and the location was fabulous with a very long beach and a little castle you could walk out to. The house is not quite as close to the beach as the cover picture suggests - it was a 10 min stroll down a narrow road, but there was a great cafe at the beach so we were good to make the trip back (uphill). There are a lot of things to explore nearby, we especially enjoyed exploring Valentia Island and Portmagee. Downside was that it took a long time to get off the Inveragh peninsula. We made the trip out to the Dingle peninsula, but it was a long day and we felt rushed.

The rent does not include electricity and heating and we were a little surprised by how much it cost - we had to pay 46 Euro cash after a 5 night stay in June. Still we still felt it was a very reasonable rental overall.

Lovely house at great location

We stayed in Helen's house for 1 week in may 2017. What a lovely place. The house is fully equiped and is at a great location. We explored the magic area and fell in love with Ireland. Amazing views from impressive cliffs, an emerald sea, a landscape covered in blooming bushes and lazy, grazing sheep. Nice, helpfull people with a great sense of humour, great food and endless winding roads leading to magic places. When skies are clear, the starry nights are overwhelming. Thanks Helen and Mary. We hope to return one day.

Fantastic property, stunning setting.

We loved staying in Cois Farraige fabulous home from home, spacious, clean and welcoming. The area and beach are stunning and within walking distance. Walks galore and everyone was so friendly. Ireland and Ballinskelligs is definately a place we shall return to. Thanks for letting us your beautiful holiday home we are so grateful we have experienced such a beautiful place.

The house was really bright and spacious

Really well equipped house close the beach and pub in astoundingly beautiful area.Have no hesitation in recommending to a large family or group of friends.WiFi would be a good addition

Lovely large house in a charming village

We were 5 adults and 2 dogs so the property was amply big enough. The owner Helen could not have been more helpful. The house was clean with good facilities and looked after by a helpful housekeeper. It is a short gentle downhill walk to the beach, with the pub a little further on. The beech is beautiful and amenities in the village are good - pub, cafe, fish and chip takeaway, local small shop, post office and arts and crafts galleries. More restaurants are available a short drive away in Waterville and Cahersiveen, where good supermarkets can be found. It is a good touring base for the Ring of Kerry and Dingle is an easy day trip. Horse riding on the beach at Caherdaniel was excellent. You will always get mixed weather in Kerry, but the scenery more than makes up for it.

Very cosy house. Clean and well equipped with lovely big garden surrounded by stunning landscape. Short walk to the beautiful beach through the flower bedecked hedgerow an absolute joy. Lots of great things to see and do nearby - kayaking on the beach, visit to the chocolate factory, friendly beach cafe, walks through stunning country on the doorstep, lots of historical interest too. People all very friendly and welcoming.
