We purchased this home when our children were in college. For the past ten years this has served as a vacation rental. But we have recently sold our big farm and farmhouse and have retired to this garden home. It is refurbished with all ecru furniture in den, new hardwood floors, new drapes and décor. We have a new RV and are excited about many weekends we would like to spend traveling. Therefore, we offer our garden home to you. You will not know we "live" there. It will be pristine and fully furnished just for you.
The Owner purchased this villa in 2006
Harper Creek is SO convenient. The home has nice ammenties and is newer, was a great value for us at purchase. AND..we like passing the savings onto our renters. This is the nicest property for the money on vrbo in our opinion.
This is a VERY convenient location near intersection of Highway 82 and 43 in Northport. Just a skip away (1 mile) in Northport are antique shops, old time barber shop, world famous local meat and 3 CITY CAFE, and one of a kind places featured in Southern Living. On the four lane (just outside the entrance to Harper Creek) are all the handy places you know and love McDonalds, Publix grocery, Walmart, gas stations, family area a hop away. A jump away (about 4-5 miles) is the University of Alabama.
My family stayed here for graduation and it was fantastic. It is very clean, the owners are responsive, and it's a great, cute neighborhood. It's also very close to the school (must've been a 10 minute drive) and grocery stores and restaurants. Really great home, we will stay there again the next time we are in Tuscaloosa!
My family (2 adults, 4 teenagers) came to Tuscaloosa for the University of Alabama Football Camp. There is plenty of space to spread out and have private time or hang out as a family. Clean. The pool is small but very nice. We enjoyed the WiFi, a/c and direct tv. Close to eating establishments, grocery store, Wal-Mart. Only a few minutes to the University. Check-in/out is easy. We would recommend this house to anyone looking for a home away from home.
My family of 4 stayed at Tuscaloosa Villa in March 2014 to attend the Alabama/Ole Miss Baseball Series. Our teenage children each took a friend and we had plenty of room for all 6 to sleep and move about comfortably. The Master Bedroom and bath are spacious and private. The home is well cared for, clean, and beautifully decorated. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare weekend meals. The neighborhood was quiet and well kept and there was plenty of space to park 2 cars. It is a 10-15 minute drive to the University of AL with grocery stores and shopping within 5 minutes. The owner's are easy to work with and offer the best price in town! Highly recommend this property. Our stay could not have been more perfect!! We definitely hope to stay again!
This home features plenty of room for a small family (3B/2Ba). The master features a large, master bath with a tub show combination and there's another bathroom that the other two bedrooms share. We especially appreciated having a little backyard for our small family dog so he got to go on vacation too! We were visiting over a weekend for a family wedding in the area. It was very close to plenty of eating and not too far to shop, when we found time. Also fairly close to the University of Roll Tide! Would recommend it to anyone.
My husband's family reunion took place this summer. He is one of the patriarchs of his family, so it just didn't seem appropriate to stay in a hotel.....no matter how glamourous, it would still be just a room. We wanted to be able to entertain while we were there, so that the younger generation could get an opportunity to spend quality time with those in their fading years. This property was soooooooo much more than we asked for. First, the property owner is a Southern gentlewoman and businesswoman, you will find her to be completely attentive and professional, as well as flexible. I requested that a family member be allowed to open the home, and was graciously allowed to do so. The home itself is just that....A HOME. It is obvious that both love and care has been lavished on this property. The only thing missing to keep this home from being complete is live foliage....from the front door to the back yard, everything was immaculate and homey. HOMEY, not HOKEY. Do not expect to be overrun with Crimson Tide memorabilia. This is more like Aunt Jenny's house whose only son is a Tide alum.....graciously subtle and unmistakable pride is in every inch of this home. Easy to find, close to literally EVERYTHING. In our week there, we had 3 family get-togethers, and at the end of the reunion, everyone felt so comfortable that the family banquet was moved to 'Uncle James' house'. That's right, his family actually thought we had MOVED to Tuscaloosa!! Imagine! Our 10 year old son was able to have his cousins over, and ride their bikes through the neighborhood. All told, I will not be visiting Tuscaloosa again if I cannot stay in this property. Thank you for making this such a special event for our family.
This was by far the best deal in Tuscaloosa! My best friend and I stayed here with our sons while our daughters were attending the Patrick Murphy Softball camp at University Alabama. The location was perfect. We were a short commute to the school and right down the way from the unique shops and eateries of Northport.
The home was very easy to find. We loved that it sits on a corner lot with more front/side yard then the other homes. All of the homes are very close together, and we were pleasantly surprised how quiet the neighborhood was. All of the neighbors were very friendly, as were most of the people of Tuscaloosa.
The living room has beautiful high ceilings, cozy comfy furniture, and a good size flat screen TV. The master is right off of the living room and separate from the other two bedrooms which is nice if you have children. The master bedroom is large in size with beautiful trey ceilings. A nice size bathroom with double sinks is just through the double doors and has a very massive walk in closet if you plan to stay a while. The dining room has a nice pub style table with four chairs and this is also where the washer and dyer are which was very helpful. We loved that we could go home with clothes washed up. We loved the large kitchen. We both admired the beautiful cabinets the entire time we were there. It had everything we needed for preparing meals which of course is a huge savings, not having to eat out the whole time if your stuck in a hotel. The other two bedrooms were nice in size and had beautiful bed linens. The closets were a nice size, especially for getting suitcases out of the way. There currently are no TV's in the bedrooms which we didn't mind at all, we enjoyed the quiet.
I will also say that we were staying there after a year long lease and the owners were transitioning back to preparing the home for renters to enjoy. There is a community pool available and we did have some issues with the code to the pool (no fault of the owners). When we contacted the owners, they were very quick with their response and very friendly.
Most of the time when staying away from home, I'm always in a hurry to get back but this was one time we actually felt at home and were very sad to leave. We very much enjoyed being there and cant wait to go back. Our only regret was not knowing that the owners also fund a baseball camp at Baseball Country. When we return next year, our boys hopefully will get to go to camp too!
Garden home community has pool, tennis, walking track around small fishing lake. Fishing from bank, please provide own tackle.
