Why Vaughan Grylls chose Dover District
A charming country house with its own, exclusive use swimming pool, near the sea, within striking distance of London and the continent yet completely away from it all and with plenty of room and great country walks for humans and dogs.

We had such a wonderful weekend away in this gorgeous property. There were 11 of us celebrating on a hen weekend. The whole weekend from start to finish was just perfect. I will definitely be back to visit this gem!

The farm catered for all our family needs from 7 to 80 and our dog. Clean, comfortable, spacious and warm. Great facilities including a safe enclosed area for the dog. Had a great weekend celebrating my dads 80th, Thank You very much.

Everything you need for a great get together
This is a fabulous house in a beautiful rural location with plenty of space for everyone. The pool was a big hit and there are lovely walks and places to visit nearby.
Family weekend away
We had a great long weekend stay at the Hop Farm. The house is spacious, with plenty of entertainment e.g. heated pool, table tennis, footballs, cricket set, etc. Jenny, the house keeper, was lovely & so helpful. Vaughan quickly got back to any queries we had in the run up to our stay & is very friendly in person. One minor thing that we noticed when cooking is that we could have done with more trays for the oven and some larger saucepans, but aside from that we had a brilliant stay & wouldn’t hesitate to book up again.
We had Sunday lunch at the Rising Sun, about a 10 minute drive away, which was good value for money & great quality.
This is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a country weekend away, close to things to do or just to chill & make the most of everything the Hop Farm has to offer.
Hop Farm sits in a remote country lane within half a mile of the hamlet of Westmarsh, 3 miles from the lovely village of Ash with church, pub, school, two mini-supermarkets ( the smaller with a free cash dispenser) and a chemist and six miles from the sea. The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury has a national reputation. The Whitstable Royal Oyster Restaurant is ideal for informal, yet special occasions. The medieval cinque port of Sandwich is a gem. If you are interested in contemporary art, Margate's new Turner Contemporary is well worth a look.
There are many attractions very suitable for children and nearby.
Here is a selection:
Wingham Wildlife Park, Howletts Open Air Zoo, Hythe-Dymchurch Historic Railway, Dover Castle, Richborough Roman Fort.
