Nice little cottage for our stay
This house was ideal for us to stay in County Mayo as a base to explore the area. It is just 10 mins from the Town of Ballina and only a short drive to the coast. The cottage contained most things we needed and instructions from the property manager we’re clear and accurate. It was great to be able to self cater as if at home. We would stay again if in the area.

Convenient, clean, cozy
We were very pleased with our stay. The cottage was spotless, cozy, well equipped and a short walk to the pub and the little grocery shop in Bonniconlon. The cottage is also a very short drive to Ballina, which is very convenient. We look forward to renting again. Thanks for a great stay.

Lovely stay
This is a charming, well equipped cottage with everything required for a lovely holiday. The cake and wine was a lovely surprise. Barbara who is the point of contact was absolutely lovely and gave up her evening to come and show us how to use the washing machine. We had a great stay and the garden was perfect for the dogs. Communication both before and during the holiday was excellent. Big thanks to Barry and the lovely Barbara

Why they chose this property

I first arrived in Bonniconlon as a young boy visiting family (my grandmother was raised on a small farm there) I was immediatetly taken with the picturesque little village, the friendly community and the rugged unspoiled beauty of the surrounding area including the Ox Mountains, with its breathtaking landscapes
In more recent years, our cosy holiday home has provided the perfect base for our own kids & grandchildren to continue visiting the area, relax and get away from it all. For an interesting, memorable, healthy holiday, Bonniconlon is a must. If you want a clean environment free from all pollutants including urban noise you'll love this location.

What makes this property unique

The vacation rental consists of a bright, well appointed, fully furnished space. Their is central heating throughout. the kitchen is equipped with all the usual home appliances/accessories. (guests can help themseves to reception tea/coffee.) The bathroom has a bath & electric shower. Both bedrooms contain comfortable fresh linen beds, black out roller blinds and clothes storage space. We provide guests with clean/laundried bath and hand towel. Shower gel/shampoo/soap. Their is a double drive (parking for two vehicles) at the front of the property. We have a large fenced/gated garden area to the back.
The location of our home provides the unique benefit of being able to relax in a peaceful, quiet area. The local village of Bonniconlon is only a ten minute walk from the property. It is a small village which houses a Gala Convenience Store, a beautiful Church two traditional Bars and a petrol pump (what more could you want!) and yet Bonniconlon is still only a ten minute drive from the prosperous town of Ballina. The beautiful beach/Atlantic ocean at Enniscrone is just down the road (15 mins). Ireland West Knock Airport is only a 30 min drive.

Bonniconlon has a vibrant community spirit and although the local population is relatively small, each year the village hosts the largest Agricultural Show west of the River Shannon. The annual Bonniconlon Agricultural Show & Gymkhana, first established in 1949, takes place on August bank holiday weekend. Attracting an estimated 30,000 people each year from all over Ireland and beyond.
