Why Barry Smith chose Bunnyconnellan
I first arrived in Bonniconlon as a young boy visiting family (my grandmother was raised on a small farm there) I was immediately taken with the charming little village and rugged peaceful tranquility of the surrounding area. In more recent years, our cosy holiday home has provided the perfect base for our own kids & grandchildren to continue visiting the area, relax and get away from it all. For an interesting, healthy and relaxed holiday, Bonniconlon is a must. If you want a clean environment free from all pollutants including urban noise you'll love this location.
What makes this Bungalow unique
The location of our home provides the unique benefit of being able to relax in a peaceful, quiet area. The local village of Bonniconlon is only a ten minute walk from the property. It is a small village which houses a Gala Convenience Store, a beautiful Church two traditional Bars and a petrol pump (what more could you want!) and yet Bonniconlon is still only a ten minute drive from the prosperous town of Ballina. The beautiful beach/Atlantic ocean at Enniscrone is just down the road (8 miles). Ireland West Knock Airport is only a 30 min drive. Bonniconlon has a vibrant community spirit and although the local population is relatively small, each year the village hosts the largest Agricultural Show west of the River Shannon. The annual Bonniconlon Agricultural Show & Gymkhana, first established in 1949, takes place on August bank holiday weekend. Attracting an estimated 30,000 people each year from all over Ireland and beyond.

Just had the most amazing time at this lovely little cottage. The place is exactly as described and proved to be the perfect space to relax and unwind. The interior is fully equipped, homely and super clean. Its situated in a nice peaceful location but not completely isolated. The local village is a mere ten minute walk. It was a great base for touring/site seeing around Co. Mayo.

Outstanding Cosy Cottage, Nice Location - Perfect for the Wild Atlantic Way & Beach
We had an amazing time at this lovely holiday home in County Mayo on the West Coast of Ireland. We had spent the previous week travelling along the Wild Atlantic Way through Counties Derry, Donegal & Sligo. Stopping over at various holiday rentals, The whole experience we had with regards to this holiday rental was by far the best. The owner, Barry made contact shortly after we made the reservation and was very helpful with general information and our requirements. Upon entering the cottage, we noticed a little vase of freshly cut flowers on the kitchen table, their was also a small tray with sachets of coffee, sugar ,envelope tea bags and a few chocolate neapolitans. Shortly after we arrived, the co-host, Barbara called over to see us, Barbara was brilliant, she made sure we were happy with everything and was very informative with regards to the local area, places to visit, including some good restaurant recommendations. All areas of the interior/rooms were nicely furnished and sparkling clean. The beds were very comfortable, we had plenty of clean towells. The bathroom gave us the option of either a bath or shower Their is central heating throughout. The whole place was extremely cosy and comfortable. The local village has a convenience store, which we found very handy for essentials. The town of Ballina is only a few miles away, it is a lovely town, which has some really nice bars & restaurants. The nearest beach at Enniscrone (which is amazing!) is only a short car journey away. We are already making plans for a return visit!
If you are thinking of visting County Mayo,or on the Wild Atlantic Way, look no further than this holiday rental, its a real gem.
