Apartment with a view

  • 5 of 5

This is truly a fantastic apartment owned by very nice people - Italians who speak excellent English and can't do too much to help you. We were met outside the apartment by the owner who showed us round and explained everything to us. It is literally a five minute walk to the Duomo in one direction and the station or coach station in the other. A supermarket is also 5 mins away and there are numerous restaurants catering to all tastes. It is very comfortable with everything you need and overlooks the square (currently undergoing complete restauration - which did not spoil our stay) and perfectly located for those wishing to visit Florence but not hire a car. The owners keep it very clean and it has a lovely atmosphere. It is located in a block which is very quiet as most of the other apartments are businesses which are closed at night. I cannot recommend it too highly as am excellent base from which to see all the sites of Florence.

Yes perfect location but a basic apartment

  • 2 of 5

We were met by Anna and Sergio who were really wonderful in explaining their city to us and where to go and I really do hate to show fault but they told us that the air con was leaking in the main room which ment that when you turned it on water was constantly dripping on the floor so she left us old towels and a basin and as it was saturday the people would not be here until Monday, they eventually came on Tuesday the morning we were leaving, water stopped working but she fixed that as soon as we told her, fridge smelt a bit and only 1 tiny wardrobe for 4 people, we were told that we could take our time leaving we told her it would be around 12 , she then told us that she made a mistake and people were coming that night so we would have to be out by 10 she then arrived at the door at 9.50 and as the air con people were with her we felt rushed out of the apartment, we were allowed to leave our bags in the hallway until 12 when our bus left, this could have been one of those things were everything goes wrong at once and I suppose with the other excellent reviews this is what must have happened

Owner's Response: First of all we want to point out that these guests stayed in the UNIT 1, not in the UNIT 2. Unfortunately during those days the air conditioner in the livingroom had a problem, it was leaking some water, inspite was still working well. We suddently called the technician, who was able to come on Tuesday morning. As was well described by the guests, we always give our prompt assistance for any kind of problems and we couldn't do any better. As far as the departure time is concerned, our check out time is 10 am, so we cannot understand why the guest is complaining about that. When it's possible we always give the opportunity of leaving the apartment at the time requested or leaving the luggage in the entrance for free.

Great place, great hosts!

  • 5 of 5

To say that we enjoyed our stay at this place would be a total underestimate. We absolutely LOVED the place and the area. Chiara greeted us with a true Italian warmth and explained us all the details about the apartment and recommended several places to eat. Actually she was so awesome and helped to plan us our stay and visiting the places we were interested in. Location is great, everything is so close! Apartment is very cozy and clean. Overall great experience and we absolutely recommend it to anyone. Thank you, Chiara, it was a real pleasure meeting you!

Great apartment, great location, great hosts

  • 5 of 5

We unit unit 2 and gave up the view to have more room. It was perfect for us. We are three older women who snore so the TV room gave a comfortable bedroom for the light sleeper, who is also an early riser. The apartment is lovely, very elegant, and has all one needs for a comfortable stay. Our hosts where wonderful. We did not go anywhere without Anna-Maria's annotated map. The previous tenants had used up the nespresso coffee pods and burnt the moka pot so we were concerned about no coffee for the morning. When we got home that first evening there was a bag of coffee pods on our door knob and next afternoon a moka pot. The two apartments share a foyer behind a very secure door. We only met our neighbors once and there was no issue of noise. The location is perfect. Supermarket nearby as well as the big central market. Lots of restaurants and right out the door an pharmacy and coffee bar as well as a restaurant. We did not eat at that one but did eat very nearby at Trattoria Trebbi, wonderful. We also cooked some and the dishwasher was a blessing. The last evening after the Uffizi and Bargello and lots of walking we wanted Florentine Steak but did not want a late night. So we went to the Central Market whose upstairs stalls are open all day till late and got the steak cooked to order to bring home. While the other two did that I fixed a nice salad from out fridge and went around the corner to a wonderful wine store for our wine. What a lovely end to our too brief stay in Florence, Florentine steak, salad and good wine in our comfy clothes and shoes off in our own apartment with time enough to pack and still get to bed at a good time. Wow. Can it get better than that! I would love to come back to Florence, there is still so much more to experience, and I will stay here. Oh, I almost forgot, there is a little lift, great for bags or two people. It helped us old girls.

Lovely stay in Fabulous Florence

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Florence, enhanced by the fantastic location and facilities of this apartment. On our arrival we were delighted to be met by Anna-Maria and Sergio, who were very friendly and helpful regarding the area and local restaurants. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed during our stay. We would definitely stay here again and cannot recommend highly enough the 'bistecca fiorintina' at Coco Philipe and also the food and atmosphere of Osterio Pepo.

Wonderful Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

Fell in love with this place the second afternoon, after tromping around the Mercato Centrale for meats, cheeses, breads, honey, etc. Came back to the apartment, opened the living area windows wide, and dozed on the couch while people milled on the piazza below and guitar & accordion music wafted up through our window. THIS is why you come to Italy! Very nicely apportioned, good fridge, working TV, coffeemaker (yay!), comfy bed, small shower with hot water not all the time. Tiny but working elevator. Great windows--when closed, very quiet. Perfectly situated--5 min to the train station, 10 to the market, 5 to the grocery store, 5 to the laundry. Anna Maria was wonderful as a host on our arrival. I have already recommended this place to two other people. Hope to return someday!

Florence is famous in the world for its medieval city centre. The Basilica of Santa Maria Novella is the oldest church and is a real museum full of very old frescoes and paintings. Every building has his own history and when you are there you can really feel this special atmosphere. Even the surroundings of Florence are unique: Fiesole is a very nice old town overlooking the city centre with a fantastic panorama; Chianti hills are very famous for wines and the olive oil but also for their special landscapes and for their typical small old towns.
