Excellent apartment but the view is spoiled
We had the top apartment and we found it very well equipped, spotlessly clean and you want for nothing. It’s spacious and comfortable especially the beds. We couldn’t fault the apartment in anyway.
Unfortunately there is a three story apartment block built directly in front of the apartment that doesn’t show up on the photos and really does spoil the view.
We also found the pool area very noisy. Amario living quarters are on the ground floor by the pool and he has two young children that play around the area. So if you are looking for peace and quiet and a relaxing time then the pool area isn’t for you.
We don’t usually say anything negative about a place and we hope our comments are fair. The apartment is excellent but the view and the noise did spoil it for us.
Thank you for your sincere review, me and my family feel bad about your experience.
We do this business for eight years and if you read only this season reviews you will see this is the first time that any of our guests reviewed us with les then five stars.
If there is a way to make it up for your loss we will be happy to make it right.
Perfect apartment, ideal for 2 couples
This top floor apartment is ideal for 2 couples as each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom. We cannot overstate how clean and well maintained the whole apartment is, with all the utilities and equipment you could possibly require - the only exception being there was no microwave which was no great issue. The balcony has exceptionally good sea views and catches the sun all day and there were some beautiful sunsets to be seen. Nice relaxed pool area with sun beds, and the swimming pool is cleaned thoroughly every day by the owners. We would highly recommend this apartment for a quiet and relaxed holiday, however bars and restaurants are not too far away with the main restaurant area being a short drive or a 25 minute walk.
We stayed at Amario’s top-floor apartment earlier this month, and everything about it was perfect, from the brilliant cleanliness, to the attention to detail with bedding, towels, and the warm welcome we received. Amario’s mum was so hospitable to us when we went to the pool, making us delicious coffee and happy to pass the time of day. Amario is also a skipper who can take you to the nearby islands in a speed-boat. We went to Hvar which is beautiful, and then to a small island nearby for lunch. You will need a car to stay here as restaurants and supermarkets are a short ride away. We shopped near the airport at Lidl and Kaufman as they had lots of choice and were open very late. We went to Trogir in the evenings for dinner sometimes as it’s a beautiful place with shops and a market open all evening. We recommend the short journey to Primosten if you want a day at the beach. It is gorgeous with lovely beach-side restaurants and sun beds. Croatia is a very beautiful country and Amario and his family are the perfect hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay! 🙌
We have just returned from a fantastic time in Croatia. The apartment was much closer to split airport and we expected and the car hire was convenient. The property is very modern and very nice with fantastic views. Amario and his family Were great hosts Letting us know where we should visit and helping us when we wanted to book things. The property was very clean and very spacious and the balcony was great . There was plenty of room for the five of us And the beach was a steep walk but only five minutes away. We hope to visit again at the island was fantastic and we had a great holiday.
Impressive apartment with amazing views
We stayed in the top floor apartment for one week. We were 2 couples travelling together. The apartment was better than we could have imagined. We spend a lot of our time there sat on the balcony and taking in the amazing view. The facilities are top class and the air conditioning kept us cool. Although we never got around to swimming in the pool we could see it being cleaned daily and was very well kept. We preferred to walk the short distance to the nearest beach and snorkel in the clear blue water. Be prepared for the steep climb back up the hill...it will keep you fit! We were greeted on our arrival by Amario who I can honestly say is the best host you could ask for. Living in the ground floor apartment Amario and his wife Kristina were very friendly and hospitable. A couple of days Amario prepared the BBQ for us by cutting up olive branches for us to use (gives the best BBQ taste ever!) and Kristina gave us a bottle of their homemade olive oil, One night Amario called the local pizza place and ordered our pizzas to be delivered to the apartment (very yummy!) and the highlight of our trip was when he arranged the rental of a speedboat for a day and took us island hopping (a trip we will never forget!!) In my opinion the apartment is on the best part of Ciovo away from the hustle and bustle, near to the beach but close enough to walk to restaurants, bars and shops when you don't feel like driving. We will definitely be back. Thank you Amario and Kristina for looking after us so well.
Beautiful apartment in immaculate condition
We enjoyed a lovely week in this beautiful part of Croatia. The apartment was superb, absolutely spotlessly clean and with everything you might possibly need ( hairdryer, ironing board etc). The mattress was good quality and very comfortable. The living area is open plan and very spacious, and the full length balcony has the most stunning view of anywhere I've seen, it was gorgeous.
The owners live in the ground floor of the property and were very friendly although not intrusive. I had emailed before our stay several times and always got a quick response. We had hired a car and were very independent, but the guests in the apartment below told us Amario took them to the supermarket and arranged lifts as they had no transport. I can't imagine such good service in other places we have stayed
The pool is shared with the other apartment. Plenty of sun beds and space, and the pool was cleaned every morning by hand by the family. Like everything else, it was immaculate. We spent our time either relaxing by the pool, or at the beach, which is 5 minutes walk down a (very) steep hill.
Some general information on the area: it is very quiet, which suited us fine as we were not looking for nightlife. It is also very hilly so take flat shoes. For things to do, we went to Trogir, Krka and Split, we also hired a boat. Take cash, lots of places don't accept credit cards
All in all it was a fabulous week, thank you Amario and your family for letting us share your home!
Villa Spanic is located on the Ciovo island at the edge of a charming, little village by name Okrug Gornji. The Ciovo island is attached to the mainland i.e. to the beautiful, medieval, town of Trogir by a tiny bridge, so no need for ferry. The distance from the Villa to the town of Trogir is just 7 km.
Town of Trogir is a real treasure of over 2500 years of history and it is listed by UNESCO. There are a narrow, stone streets and old stone houses, good restaurants and shops.
If you want to explore more of Croatia there are a plenty of opportunities to go to 1-2 day trips to Dubrnovniok, Split, Krka National Park, , Brac and Solta.
Other Activities: just 300m from the villa is Trogir Diving Centre & Charter Club to rent the boats
