My husband and I found Volcano Village about 20 years ago. It was our dream to purchase property there, and we did just that! We built a small magical little cabin. For many years we enjoyed it ourselves from time to time, and on occasion our friends and family would go and stay at the cabin. Each time we always heard the same things... How beautiful it was, how inspiring it felt, and how they just never wanted to leave. So a Few years ago we put it on the market as a vacation rental.
The cabin is a huge cabin/studio, it offers a very large bathroom with a Large soak tub, a stand up shower, full washer & dryer, full size kitchen, dining area, sitting room with a view of the forest and a gorgeous gas fireplace. We just put in a brand NEW queen size pillow top mattress that makes you feel like you are really sleeping in the clouds and though there is a large picture window just above the bed so as you lay there you can keep your eyes on the Big Dipper.
Hi Genevieve & Rev,
Thanks very much for your note! We had a wonderful time in the Big Island and loved your cabin. This was the highlight of our trip. The cabin was private, peaceful, well decorated, and very relaxing! We hope to have an opportunity to stay here again in the future. We will definitely recommend your cabin to our friends. Although we decided not to bring our laptop this time, the availability of wireless internet was a strong consideration when selecting your cabin.

This is a spacious cabin nestled in really tall ferns that feels like you're in a tree house. The ceilings are high, large windows look out onto lush vegetation, full kitchen and huge bathroom. There's a gas fireplace to take the chill off and it's a short drive to the national park. We enjoyed our stay very much. There was no cell phone service, but there is a land line and there is wifi. We would stay again and will recommend to friends.
Two of us had an excellent time staying in this house (Sep. 2016). The house is surrounded by lush rainforest and the wooden interior gives a wonderful atmosphere. It is very private and quiet, and convenient as well. It is very close from the Volcano National Park and food is readily available from different restaurants/vendors in the area. This house has many big windows, allowing plenty of natural light to come in. It has a fireplace that we could turn on when it got chilly at night. The bathroom has a nice, spacious bathtub. Washer/dryer are easy to use and there are enough space/hangers to dry the cloth. We did not meet the owners in person, but they had everything in order and check-in/out was very smooth. If we may recommend one thing to future visitors, it's better if you get there during the daytime so it's easier to find the house. The town of Volcano is located in midst of beautiful rainforest, and there is not much lighting at night. Highly recommend staying at this place in Volcano!
Gorgeous views of gigantic ferns plus lovely songbirds surround the rooms! The beautiful custom woodwork and wonderful soak-tub were heavenly
When we first walked in we were blown away. Such a beautiful space. The lanai was lovely to have coffee under.
He wasn't kidding when he said it gets chilly at night. We wore our flannel jammies.
A curtain for the window where the head of the bed would have been nice. The sun kept waking us up before we were ready. However, seeing the stars in bed was a nice touch.
We enjoyed our January stay on the forest! Large studio, complete kitchen, and bath with two sinks and mirrors Beautiful and totally private. I for some reason thought there was heat other than the fireplace, but it was sufficient even in January. The remote start lets you start it to get the chill out of the room before you get out of bed. And we only needed it 3 out of the four evenings we were there. Owners instructions are very clear. I would recommend arriving during dailight hours. The roads to the cabin are quite dark and narrow and the driveway might be hard to find in the dark the first time. There is no cell service for ATT, but the internet worked very well. There is a land line if you had an emergency.
We had planned to spend most of the day in the park. So, didn't still need a lot. The weather wasn't great so we left earlier than expected. When we got to our accommodation we were so happy to have left the park early, for no other reason than to have enjoyed this gem for a little longer.
We are 1 mile from the Volcano National Park- Come see an active Volcano, watch earth be created right before your eyes.
