Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Winterton-on-Sea - Sevena Cottage

3 Bedroom, Pets Welcome, Free Wifi

Sevena cottage has all the charm of a beautiful country home, yet is situated just minutes from glorious winterton beach.

Inside: the cottage is delightful, with natural wood floors throughout, a wood burning stove and three cosy bedrooms it boasts two double rooms, one single room, a fully equipped kitchen, a downstairs bathroom with bath and shower and a spacious living room. Dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier and fridge-freezer are all provided.

Outside: with its various zones, the stunning cottage garden is perfect for pets, children and grown ups – complete with herbs to use in your cooking! A paved area with bbq, table and chairs provides a perfect spot amongst the flowers for lunch and a sunhouse at the far end of the garden provides an additional private space for a moment of calm. The cottage is situated down a private lane, where there is off-road parking for two cars.

The beach: the dunes themselves are a recognised “area of outstanding beauty” and a fantastic place to walk or spot rare birds and wildlife. Just over the sand dunes lies an unspoiled sandy beach, which is a perfect for long walks, beach games and watching the resident colony of grey seals. After all that excitement, the dunes café offers a perfect place to relax with tea and a delicious slice of cake or cooling ice cream.

The village: winterton-on-sea is a picturesque, ancient fishing village, with a 300 year old pub, 12th century church, fish and chip shop, post office and general store. Several nature walks begin in the village, which lead you through the surrounding countryside, which is an experience not to be missed.

Within the local area you can explore the norfolk broads, by boat or by foot, the medieval city of norwich, saltmarshes, quaint seaside and market villages, rolling fens, bird sanctuaries and nature reserves.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This cottage is compact but beautifully decorated with everything you could need for a stay including free wi-fi. A big squishy sofa with log burner makes for cosy nights in, whilst the lovely garden with outdoor furniture meant we could enjoy the sunshine in the day and eat meals outside. The beds are very comfortable and the cottage is tucked away but just minutes from the local amenities. These include a post office, convenience store, fish & chip shop and a lovely pub at the end of the road, The Fisherman's Return, that serves great food! The only thing on the downside I can mention (and this is not a complaint), is the stairs in the cottage are pretty steep and probably not ideal for those with fellow guests and pets (like our old boy) whose legs aren't in the best nick!

Most importantly though, the cottage is literally five minutes walk to the gorgeous sandy beach. We took our dog to swim in the sea each day... delightful! There is a nice cafe at the beach serving drinks and lovely home-cooked food.

It’s also a good location from which to explore other parts of the coast too (we went to Cromer for the day).

A home from home - but by the sea.

  • 5 of 5

Pretty cottage set in a quiet friendly village with secluded garden - what more could you ask for - but there is more..... beaches, dunes, a village church and ruins with a folk tale that you must explore.

The cottage has all your home comforts and is clean with a lovely hot shower. The garden with its well established borders is both private and secure.

Whats lovely about this holiday cottage is that you can bring all of the family including the dogs, go for beautiful coastal walks seal spotting on the way and stop at the beach side cafe or village pub (Dog too) for refreshments. If your looking to relax this is the place for you.

A great holiday cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at Serena Cottage. It is very cosy, well equipped and the beds so comfortable that we bought a similar mattress when we got home! The cottage is very dog friendly, as is the whole area and the garden is absolutely beautiful and also very safe for dogs. Location is excellent, the shop, pub, chip shop and the path to the dunes are literally just a few minutes walk away, and a little further is the Dunes Cafe which served lovely lunches (and cakes!). This was our first stay in this part of Norfolk but definitely not our last!

Great base for a super holiday

  • 5 of 5

A lovely property in a fantastic location. Well equipped and cosy with a fabulous enclosed garden which was perfect for our dog Alice!

Just a minute from the the sand dunes and the wonderful dog friendly beach at Winterton on Sea. We were blessed with terrific weather which helped make for a wonderful 3 week holiday.

The people in the village were so friendly and good food available at the excellent Fishermans Return pub and also the most friendly fish and chip shop we have ever been to - and top quality from this award winning establishment.

Lynne the owner couldn't have been more helpful.

All in all a wonderful holiday - we will return!

Wonderful, wonderful sea side cottage

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is heaven sent, its cosy but not too small, warming when the weather is windy or cold because of the amazing log burner in the lounge. If you are looking for a home from home near the beach for your dog, children or grandchildren to run and have fun, but also with a pretty little garden to sit in then this is the place for you.

Lovely cosy holiday cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was beautifully renovated, kitchen had everything you needed, the beds were very comfortable with nice cotton bed linen. The sitting room had 2 new sofas and there was abundant hot water for baths and showers, the cottage was clean and the garden well maintained, we loved staying there.
