Lovely property , would recommended

  • 5 of 5

Lovely property , well maintained with all equipment you would require. Within walking distance to city centre, also near bus stops if needed and a quiet area. Overlooking the river and fenced in so that young children were safe. Would recommend to family and friends.

Finally got some good sleep!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much at Riversmead. The unit is clean and comfortable and wonderfully decorated. Best of all, it was quiet and the beds were comfortable and clean and we got our first good sleep in all the places we stayed on our trip. Mind you, we walked a lot so were pretty tired, but other places we stayed were noisy, too bright, too hot or you worried about the bed itself. None of these were an issue with Riversmead.

The listing was accurate, the properly clean and well-maintained, and the Moults were very patient with me as I battled with my US bank in making the payments.

Being great walkers, we didn't use buses or other transportation, but there was a bus stop nearby. There were plenty of trails and walking places. When we went out to eat, we ate more in town, so we didn't try the local eateries. We enjoyed the museums, York Minster, walking on the walls and loved The Shambles. We had a great time.

This was our favorite place to stay and we highly recommend it. I don't have enough time to say how much we enjoyed staying at Riversmead.

A well-suited place!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed only 2 nights in York, but this was a good spot to call home. The neighborhood was quiet, easy access to the walled city, a parking spot right out front, every convenience and home amenity was provided for, and the beds were comfortable. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere and the calzones at Toto's Restaurant right around the corner. What more could you ask for?

Lovely house, great location

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our stay and there were lots of nice touches - there were 2 bottles of wine and some basic groceries in the fridge ready for our arrival. The house is very clean and well equipped and located in a quiet cul-de-sac. I would definitely recommend it to any small groups wishing to stay in York!

A perfect match!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Riversmead was perfect. The house itself was clean, functional and suited our needs to a 'T' - there was room for us to all move about with a mix of grandparents and a child's needs to meet. The proximity to the city centre was excellent. All the information we needed was at hand. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this property to others considering visiting York.

Better than advertised

  • 5 of 5

The River Ouse is right off a beautiful elevated back patio that has massive space (the patio out back is literally wider than most roads in York). Views of those amazing medieval walls while sipping a glass of wine. House is super comfy inside. We stayed with our three boys and all for very comfortably. Grocery is 45 second walk. Especially considering price this is one of our best experiences with VRBO.

York is a beautiful ancient walled city dating from Roman times with many historical sites. The city is home to some excellent museums including the National Railway Museum which now houses the world famous Flying Scotsman. This train now runs between York and Scarborough on the Yorkshire coast during the summer months.

York has many visitor attractions (too many to list here), including two world famous attractions, 13th century York MInster is the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe and the Jorvic Viking Centre where you are transported underground in Time Cars to explore the sights, sounds (and smells!) of the Viking city of Jorvic.

The city holds many festivals throughout the year including the Jorvic Viking Festival every February and there is always something going on to entertain, amuse and delight the visitor. York also boasts many fine shops, restaurants and theatres, and claims to have more pubs than there are days in the year.
