This has been our third year in your beautiful townhouse and again we have had a wonderful time. Too bad the time runs by so fast when you are having such a great time.
The property is ideally located a few blocks from the beach and one block from Siesta Village. The unit is fully equipped with all sorts of kitchen appliances including a crock pot, a huge array of utensils, dishes, glassware, and even Tupperware. There is an extensive spice rack. There are two large TVs, a DVD player, a CD player, a video game machine, books and games and more. Just outside the door is a heated pool and a shared washer and dryer. Wagons are available to carry your included beach chairs to the magnificent white sand beach. The location is only a few miles away from full grocery store chains and all the Sarasota attractions. The one time we had to call maintenance when we learned we had no hot water in the kitchen sink the office had someone there the same day. We plan to return next year for a longer stay.
We fully expected so much more when paying the amount of money that we did. Problems of televisions not working properly, light bulbs out, unit not very clean, especially the rug under the coffee table, I could not take a shower unless my husband pulled open the knob which was hard for him to do, and dirty dishes in the cabinet which we understand could be from previous tenants. We will say that the maintenance man Gregg did all that he could do to help. But all in all, we were disappointed.
Rental included all you could want for a vacation. We were an easy walk to the beach/bars/restaurants. They included use of chairs, beach towels, umbrella, wagon to haul everything. There is construction going on next door for a new house being built but we dealt with the noise. Pool is nice. Great communication by the rental agency. Siesta Key Beach is awesome!
Clean, convenient and comfortable - will definitely stay again and highly recommended.
We stayed at this Sunnyside Properties rental unit for a week in late August/early September. We had one day to enjoy the lovely beach and then the tropical storm/Hurricane hit and we had some spectacularly bad weather, so bad some of the stores closed for several days and all the deck furniture wound up at the bottom of pool due to the winds. So it was fortunate that the suite we were in was so pleasant. We had some trouble with the oven not turning on and Lisa's management team was quick to replace it; that day in fact. The process of booking the rental and getting into the building and where to park etc was seamless and professional.
The photos on this site are very accurate. The space is plenty roomy for two people, with lots of storage space. It was very well equipped with kitchen necessities, bath and beach towels and so on. A couple more kitchen towels and cloths would have been useful. The use of a washer and dryer was appreciated, I've stayed in any number of condos that had paid laundry rooms on another floor. We used the pool a number of times as it was much easier to dash out when the rain stopped for a bit than to try to make it to the beach in the wind and rain. We found the bed comfortable, and really appreciated the games and books left in the unit. If not for the ongoing Scrabble challenge we might have had some very dull afternoons.
The location is fantastic, we could walk to a grocery store, many restaurants, the beach, bars, and shops. Easy access to Sarasota and we went into town a few times to shop, visit the Ringling museum (highly recommend) and have a dinner. We made breakfast and lunch in the suite and visited one of the many excellent restaurants in the village for dinner. The sushi restaurant on the main street of Siesta Key is fantastic, and we are from Vancouver where good sushi is everywhere. In fact we didn't have a meal that wasn't memorable.
I am definitely hoping to stay here again, especially if we can make it in the winter when storms are not so likely!
We've rented with Sunnyside Properties many times over the past decade. Lisa is very easy to work with and replies promptly to emails. Regarding her properties, if you (or your family) are looking to park themselves near Siesta Key Village, then this is the spot. The ground-floor units feature one bedroom and a combined kitchen/dining/living room with sliding doors to the pool. A gas grill was used frequently for poolside meals after a day at the beach. The upper units are spacious with three bedrooms. The master is large with an ensuite bath. All units have access to a washer and dryer.
Regarding the location - there is a small village grocery store and local hardware store around the corner to grab whatever you need. Frequent Village stops for us include Big Olaf's Ice Cream, Daiquiri Deck, PI Pizza on Ocean Blvd and many others for afternoon happy hour and evening dinner.
If this is your first time to Siesta Key or if you've been there before, Sunnyside Properties will prove to be a great spot to stay.
